  1. ^^^I'm sure I was just in a bad seat. ^^Never been on Rebel Yell, but I'll have the chance when I go to Kings Dominion in a few weeks. (East Coast Bash ) ^Amen That said, my mother called me saying she was sick, so the trip for me is postponed.
  2. Heh, imagine if it was an ad for Radiator Springs Racers! Kidding, of course. I'd prefer this over the stride wrap and that hair gel wrap they've used on numerous rides.
  3. ^^Lol, I noticed that after reading through the first three posts, where it took the sudden turn! No surprises with any attractions near me. But happiness for me is when: 1. It rains at a crowded park you're at, then it clears half an hour later. It's nice when half the guests in the park disappear after it! 2. When a church near my house randomly sets-up a small funfair, complete with rides like loop-o-planes! Very rare am I able to visit them, but I do when I can!
  4. Neat! It's interesting seeing Polin getting their slides here into the U.S. As for the drop tower idea, I say "woah!" That idea has lingered in my head before, but I never knew that they would actually consider doing that! Heck! Maybe Intamin could now find ways to sell drop tower/strata coaster combos. I say thay should dig a ditch as deep as they can under Kingda Ka for the drop tower to fall into, just so they can have a much higher falling distance! Think we can get it to have a distance of 500ft?!
  5. ^ I second that opinion. But... but... I don't wanna move out. Where else will I be able to zipline underground, bet on horses, and eat to-die-for fried chicken?
  6. Those things are way too skinny to be used on Mammoth. Mammoth is a much larger flume.
  7. Wow! They'd have to link them together into trains! The day water parks start doing that, I'll be very happy! As for Mammoth, I can agree that Mammoth is something that you want to sprint to right away first thing when the water park opens. Right after ERT during this year's Holiwood Nights, I saw people speed-walking (near to jogging) their wat to the back corner of the park to be first on Mammoth. I will also add that I would not mind waiting an hour to get on Mammoth. Seriously, I liked it that much! It's not intense as it is all around fun! It also get's you "stupid" wet! Much more than any of the other slides in the park, which is sort of hard to explain.
  8. To make up for having to miss Deep South Bash, I'm going to the park either tomorrow or Friday. Should be fun, considering my mom is getting me a flash pass. I can't wait to get back on Dare Devil Dive and ride one of my top three favorite drop towers ever! It's crazy how much love Mindbender doesn't get. As such an awesome coaster it is, I've never, ever waited longer than 30 minutes for it. Meanwhile Goliath is crawling forward with a two 1/2 hour line! Both are great coasters, and I've only experienced really bad rattling on one of my experiences. Other times it was either really small rattling or it was smooth as glass. It probably depends on where you sit. I'm also hoping to give GASM another try. The last time I rode it, it was in the front car, second row. Jackhammered me the entire ride: slapped my back, the back of my head, and my butt. I hated it, which was sad because I was able to notice its potential in the amount of airtime it had.
  9. I thought the coaster was just that: a coaster. Mix in video game-like screens (some moving) and a launch, and you got more of my attention! Also yes, I recommend seeing the whole video as well!
  10. It's been done numerous amount of times in NoLimits, but seeing this in real life looks awesome! Especially when it's indoors and at one of (if not) the world's greatest arcades! Very cool!
  11. ^ Eggs, two strips of bacon, and biscuit... Best in years. < Trying to get his dad to allow him on the East Coast Bash @ KD v Wants to ride a donkey.
  12. I LOVE that slide! It's my favorite body slide ever because of how much amazing theming went into it. That, and the cave it ends in. Bump: I remember seeing Splashtacular's renderings of their water slides, including their 360 rush slides. I always though if these were to become a reality, they would be the coolest water slides out there. Low and behold, two parks in the United States currently own and operate their own versions of the 360 Rush, with another planned to be built. Have you guys seen these things, they look insane! I cannot wait to try one. It'll probably be at the Spring Valley Beach water park in Alabama.
  13. ^ Is right. < Turns right. v Doesn't know what to write.
  14. Oops! Didn't see that! Yeah, that Superman coaster does look better than Stealth.
  15. Cool TR, and great pictures. I've always wanted to travel to the UK someday and visit these parks. Also you say that Superman: The Escape is better than Stealth. Do you mean the one at Six Flags Magic Mountain, or some other Superman ride?
  16. If I didn't have band camp the day after, I SO would have attended Deep South Bash. Oh well. I'm going to try for East Coast Bash at KD... Cross my fingers my dad doesn't plan anything before that.
  17. ^10/10 Australians are cool, and your name is Alex.
  18. ^ Is correct. < Is currently in his math class. v Is wondering why I'm on TPR and not learning more about Euler's algorithms.
  19. People who complain that breakfast at McDonalds ends too early have never been on my campus, where it ends at 9:15... There's more closet bronies on this site than you might think... *cough* I regret nothing.
  20. ^8/10 Short and sweet. I like it.
  21. Bob Marley & the Wailers album. Currently on "Buffalo Soldier."
  22. Be sure to view part one by clicking this link, or going one page back! And so begins the photos... I'm guessing this was the original name for the waterpark. Passing the MISTical maze while heading into the water park section. A sunset, how appropriate for a beach! Yes, we did the water park in the afternoon. We only spent 3 1/2 hours here. I stuffed my pants, t-shirt, sunscreen, and backpack that contained a DSLR, extra lens, and a few books in this thing. I also had enough room for my friend to squeeze her small bag in as well. Wish I took a photo of it, I felt like a pro at stuffing in these things! Here is where I rode the slides. After that, the escort was done. So I grabbed my camera again to walk around on my own and take photos. Maybe this is why TPR should go out of their way to come here. First slide I rode. Pretty fun. Nice cabanas available for rent. Then I came here to ride these. Like I said, Acapulco Drop has a really steep downward pitch angle. It also had the shortest line in the park. Splashdown was pretty interesting to ride. Neptune's Revenge are also some pretty good slides. Though, it would make more sense to paint them dark blue. Upsurge in the distance. I'll try not to post too many photos, especially of AD. The park from the top. Rampage looks like an epic roller coaster. Too bad I couldn't ride it. ... I felt like getting artsy. So I used a fish-eye. Neptune's Plunge. I saw older photos of this slide on the park's Facebook page. It seems the red and yellow paint job is new. It sure looks a lot better than its old-self. Then I went back to Upsurge for more photos. This time at the top. I'll spare you the repetitious photos, and skip the kiddy area photos I took. THis is only half an hour before the park closed, so right after this, I gathered my stuff and headed to the front to get back on the bus. Before that though, I had to get a closer look at the water maze. These steps felt a little flexible, which scared me a little walking up them. One of two squirt thingies. *Gasp!* My foot! The result of stepping on the pedal, though this one on the left sprayed water continuously with no one operating it. Generic overview. Victorious water curtain at the end! If I come back here, I do want to try it out. Seems pretty cool to do with friends. Sorry I couldn't make the zip line look special. I only took three of the same photos of it. Thus ends my vist. Oh, and the price board for any of you planing to come here. There you go. My trip report on the park. If I wasn't supposed to post it here in the discussion thread, I apologize. The one thing I strongly think this park needs is another water slide. Preferably a family raft slide.
  23. Okay, as I told you (a week ago, =-/ ), I visited the park in June 30th. I was in the Birmingham area with a college group I was with. We were mostly visiting civil rights areas (Kelly Ingram Park, Civil Rights Museum, 16th East Baptist Church, etc.), but the water park was included on the last day of the weekend trip. This was my first time coming to Birmingham, let along to Bessemer where this water park is located. When I first pulled in, a lot of the people on the bus were excited to lear that the park also had amusement park rides. I informed some that the rides were closed this year and they were selling them. As expected, they were a little let down. Anyways, I contacted the park prior to visiting so i could obtain POV's of their water slides for a website I own, Water Slide Database. When I arrived and contacted the park again, they hired a security guard to escort a friend and I through the park AND to the front of the lines for each slide! Being the first time I've ever been escorted through any park, it definitely made this the most interesting water park visit I've ever made! (Of course, the security was there to inform the lifeguards I had permission to film.) Splash Adventure water park itself seemed like a decent park. It's more of a destination for locals than something I would go out of my way to visit. The slides were pretty good, the park was pretty clean, and the lifeguards were quite nice. The water temperature was also perfectly warm on all slides. -Upsurge wasn't super thrilling, but it's still a pretty fun slide to get on. -Acapulco Drop has a crazy steep downward-pitch radius! Felt like I was siding off of the edge of a cliff! Too bad you get sore after a few re-rides. -Splashdown bowl slide turned out to be my favorite slide in the park. Another slide that scratched your back a little, but not too bad. -Neptune's Revenge was nice. Had a few sudden turns that rocked our tubes nearly to flipping! After riding every slide within an hour, a few friends and I conversed around the lockers. After that, I spent the rest of the 1 1/2 hours taking photos of the park. Right before we had to leave the park to go back to the hotel, I took photos of the MISTical water maze and zip lines. So, here's the four slides I did POV's of: ^You can see the first two security escorts in this video. Photos on the next page...
  24. ^You can thank Aquarena for building it, and WhiteWater for spreading it. The one you talk about might be ProSlide, though WhiteWater started their own line of flat-loop slides as well.
  25. ^Which reminds me, has anybody seen the prototype video posted by WhiteWater? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jsw9o8rkbUA
