Alton Towers Discussion Thread

There is going to be so much theme in the coasters drop area! I looks OK, but it may make some people sick. -
Yesterday, I had the opportunity to go to my first Ace coaster event. My mother had bought me a subscription for Christmas, and I was eager to check everything out. So me and my dad embarked on a 2 hour and 30 minute drive to the park. We arrived at the park in the service entrance, I'd never been to the park, and I was surprised at how small it was. they actually let us drive through the park to the staff training rooms too! After we had all Devoured food, (the fruit plate was left strangely intact. The pineapple was sad ) we talked and talked about what was going on in the New England region. The parks general manger also led us on a tour of the park! Wipe out was taken apart for repairs As we walked, wild cat really seemed to superimpose itself on my camera Another shot of wildcat! The enterprise was also taken apart. You can see boulder dash through their screaming swing too! Zoomerang! They then took us into some of the shops to look at coaster parts! The acers seemed to like this strange red coaster.... BUT THEY REALLY LIKED THAT! I LOVE VEKOMA Old control panel... New Control Panel! This is the warehouse we were in. The Garfield theme is leaving... I don't think my dad likes all this ace business... This is pretty cool! But this is even better! I don't care how people remember me, this will be my senior picture! The whether made it hard to snap great pics of Boulder Dash, but I think these next ones are pretty good! But these were little Gobs of awesome! Deep fried Oreo goodness! Six Flags general manager showed up, but the dude sitting in front of me Freaked my picture up! After that, Me and my dad left for the long ride back to New Hampshire! It was pretty cool I guess, but some of the people were kind of annoying. Today, my dad has the flu, so I would like to thank him for being a trooper. One thing that made me laugh was that he said the acers were getting sexually excited over the coaster wheels though... Until next time... -Your friend Eric ADMIN EDIT: I have updated the title to include "Photo TR:" at the front. Please remember to use that in your title when posting future reports. Other than that, thanks for sharing this with us!

What if the psychology is really only in the marketing. what if the initial rumors are the only thing that makes the ride awesome? This is getting redundant though... Didn't they really need a staff for the crystal beach Cyclone when that was around too though. I guess it's happened before. -

WOW, What an incredibly ignorant statement! What makes you think they're not? It's not like the PR department, or the media firm they are using can just go and fix the ride themselves. I like the advert and would've been terrified as a child by this. I know, but I'm just saying that if the ride is so hyped, they should go above and beyond to maksure it is running for the press. Primarily all we have is words, and when there is a chance to see the ride, it doesn't open. I wasn't trying to be ignorant though -

How anticlimactic. Possibly one of the most hyped coasters ever built has an issue. You would think they would take all of the effort they put into PR and put some of it into the mechanics to make sure it opens as smoothly as possible. Oh well... -
Looks like a charity based camp to me . I think that morals are different in china. They were propably right in saying that it's hard for these people to find jobs. As long as he is fair, and the people honestly consent, then it's only ok. Though I wouldn't say it's the kindest thing in the world. I really think it would be cool though, if they could develop a coaster for adult little people.

All this stuff is great , but is it marketed to the locals, or do they want to increase tourism? If not, do you think that It will be more of a goal in the future? -

That coaster looks amazing, especially with only a small restraint. What does it feel like to take those turns? It sort of seems like a balance of tameness and intensity! -

I clearly see a difference in the two coasters. Obviously the guests will see that there is four across seating om the B&M and 2 across on the Vekoma. The park also has enough variety already, Goliath Le-monstere Le-Cobra and the others are already good, so I don't see how an slc upsets the balance. The fact that they are both standard is just the way the cookie crumbles. All flat rides are standard, and nobody is ever upset by those when a park has a flat ride that is similar. SF just wanted a place to put the coaster so they could have their money working! -
I thought you were joking with the wipe out thing, but then I was like... WHOA! That's such a cool show!

As others have said, get a golden flash pass. The queues for Bizzaro can seem endless. I waited for 4 hours once. Also at sfne start with Bizzaro first and try to be there right at opening! Don't forget to try catapult!
