If they wanted alternate endings, I'd love to know how it would work out and how they would switch. Would it just be random or programed? -
World Joyland in China
Steelinwood replied to Gutterflower's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The park looks great, and I think they put a lot of thought into it. I don't think it will go under though, it will attract to many people, plus I think this is the second B&M flying coaster in china. By the way are there any flying circus's as permanent flat rides? -

Of course they aren't unique. Huge Dive coasters are so typical. Anyhow, it's cool to know that they're working on new application of the flying coaster. Can't wait to see a POV! -
Well they already have Silver Bullet and Boomerang. The Public demands bigger and better. If they are going to get a new ride they should go BIG! I also don't think a dive machine would be overkill. If they could get the theme right, it would actually compliment the park nicely. Look at oblivion, it small and to the point.

I'm aware of that, that's why I said I don't think it will stick that well. The story has already been told. With themes that stick, either the story is endless like spider man, or it has been around for a long time. The same as this would apply with wiggles world and Thomas the train. I'm not trying to be objectionable I'm just saying that I don't think it will stick for a long period of time, and it's sad that they are switching the classic Dueling Dragons to 'Dragon Challenge'. Why can't parks be original in themes? Walt Disney was original and look were it got him.

Personally I don't feel that harry potter will be around forever. It has been a very successful book series but there is only so much you can do with it. I like dueling dragons the way it is. It's more general and it's not very limited for marketing purposes. With a predominate harry potter theme, it becomes limited. They shouldn't change it.

Have you ever thought about selling these for money? I'm sure the Texas giant postcard would be worth some money! -

As others have said, it probably is a PR stunt. I also think it could be part of the theme. On the other hand, how public was this announcement? If the mainstream media knew about it, then that affirms my idea, but if nobody but enthusiasts really know, then perhaps they are serious. -
I hate it when six flags plays that absolutely repulsive music while you wait in line. There is absolutely no variety!

Eric's Brochure Kingdom: The Return!

Montu Pleases you....hmmm It's so cool to be able to look back and see what parks were like. I have some brochures that should be interesting within the next 10 years. Keep it up! -
Most Definitely, the park has been featured on so many different movies and TV shows it's not even funny. As for the type of investments, I don't think that much thought was put into them. Don't get me wrong, they are great rides, but they could be reaching a such a higher demographic if they had a massive ride that gave something to brag about. A hyper coaster would fit them extremely well if they had the space. I know many other enthusiasts would like to see that as well. Not that Excellorator doesn't do that already, but the GP don't have the specifics on it. I guess I just feel like my impression of the Park is that it's just there. It could be doing so much better!

Virginia vs. New England
Steelinwood replied to CreditCrazy's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The airtime was muted? Are you kidding me? Get the very rear car! I was flying out of my seat on those camel-backs. I've been on both Bizzaro's too, and I must say that in my opinion, they are definitely not overrated. Though I did feel the upgrades were extremely unnecessary. -
I've never been to Knotts so I cannot vouch for Montezuma, but if they were going to get rid of it it would be for capacity reasons. They may also want to get rid of it in the future because of the old style of machinery too. At the same time, replacing it with and impulse coaster could be expensive as well. But from what seems as there lack of activity in keeping the park fresh, I don't think anything will happen to it.

Virginia vs. New England
Steelinwood replied to CreditCrazy's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Having Six Flags New England as my Home Park is a serious delight. There is nothing better than a ride on Bizzaro at night. It's smooth, powerful and balanced perfectly. Also Batman the Dark Night is an amazing B&M floorless that offers a complex, compact and technical taste that the park needs to balance out it's collection of coasters. Pandemonium and Thunderbolt are great coasters as well. On the downside, SFNE is always VERY busy during the summer since it's the regions major theme park. Lastly, I've never been to Lake Compounce but I hear amazing things about boulder dash too. I have also been to BGE. They offer top of the line coasters that are smooth, mostly have short waits, and have a unique element that I can't put my finger on. From my experience Griffon is amazing and you hardly ever have to wait for it less than 10 minutes. The other coasters are great too. My conclusion is that New England parks are better. They offer more variety in a shorter distance from each other and there are also other parks close to the ones you mentioned. If you are going to be coaster traveling, swing by up here. -
Hey everybody! My name is Eric and I'm from New Hampshire. I originally got hooked on rides when I saw the sky master at my local fair and that sort of put that interest into place. 4 Years ago, I started playing RCT3, and that made me curious about coasters. I learned about all the company's and parks that make them and started traveling around to ride them. My parents always took me to parks when I was younger as well. I first learned about Theme Park Review through you tube. I'm also a fluent member on the RcPro forums and Brandon suggested that I check this site out too. As of now my coaster count is at 56 and I've traveled to many parks around the east coast including; Cannobie, Disney World, SFNE, SFGAV, Cedar Point, BGE and Fun Town to name the major ones, but I've also been to smaller parks too. I'm Currently trying to get to Rye Play land, Lake Compounce, Dorney Park, Darien Lake, Hershey park and Kennywood as well Besides coasters I enjoy computers and graphic art. I am also a full time high school student. I'd like to work with coasters for a living, but the odds are unlikely so I think I'll get into art as aforementioned. So anyways, I'm glad to be here and I hope to take a trip with you guys someday.
