  1. Congrats, guys. May Kristen have many years of coaster riding ahead of her.
  2. Ha! Nitro had almost no airtime, and I sat in the back! I mean, it has a little bit of floater and a good drop, but S:ROS at Darien Lake had more airtime, as well as Apollo's Chariot. I wouldn't say almost no airtime, but I would say that Apollo and Goliath (SFOG), has much more noticeable airtime than Nitro. ...and I was on Nitro and Apollo in the same week and there's a big difference. As far as the most it's obviously the Voyage, but for the best air time it's Intamin hypers and Intamin woodies by far. ...actually it's no contest.
  3. For me it all depends on the type of ride and manufacturer. In no particular order: My favorites Intamin Steel Mega/Giga- Ex. S:ROS (SFNE&SFA), Millennium Force Intamin Woodie-Ex. El Toro Intamin Rocket- Ex. Storm Runner GCII Woodie- Ex. Thunderhead B&M Hyper- Ex. Apollo's Chariot, Goliath (SFOG) B&M Invert- Ex. DD-Fire&Ice, Montu All in all, I would have to say steel because of the Intamin mega/giga.
  4. Fav. steel coaster- Superman-ROS (SFNE) Agawam, MA wood coaster- El Toro (SFGADV) Jackson, NJ dark ride- Spiderman (Islands of Adventure) Orlando, FL water ride- Dudley Do-Right (Island of Adventure) Orlando, FL park- Islands of Adventure Orlando, FL
  5. Wow, the Goonies. I went on my first date to see the Goonies, I was in 5th grade. Man, that was a long time ago.
  6. I would have to say: Snakes, why did it have to be snakes? Raiders of the Lost Ark We're gonna need a bigger boat. Jaws ...and about every other line from the original three Star Wars. ...especially, Darth Vader: no, I am your father. Luke: no that can't be, that's impossible. Darth: search your feelings, you know it to be true ...or something like that. It's been a while since I've seen The Empire Strikes Back.
  7. I think the one strange phrase I wouldn't want to hear is, "I think I just made a shart". If you don't know what a shart is, just watch Along Came Polly.
  8. Well, I saw two films in the last 10 days. Bridge to Terabithia (8.5/10) Pretty good movie, but very sad. Disney at first was hyping this movie like it was another Narnia, but it's totally different. ...and better in some ways. The Astronaut Farmer (9/10) Very good movie, but predictable. ...still Billy Bob Thornton is excellent and the story is very entertaining.
  9. What's the date for Volcanomania this year?
  10. Maybe one of the trains will be named "Homer".
  11. I agree with yankees15, I haven't had any problems with airtime on Storm Runner. ...and as long as the ride is smooth, you won't even notice the OTSR much. I guess the only way it could restrict some airtime is if you're very tall with a very long torso.
  12. Well, I have family in Idaho and Lagoon is just as far away as Silverwood from their house. ...and I always have to go to at least one amusement park when I visit.
  13. ^Thanks, I'll keep an eye out for it today.
  14. ^My only guess would be to fill up the park quicker.
  15. Hair ball themed coaster? I could see them having the cars spin out of a cats mouth. -Julie That's good. ...or they could have a cat turd coaster, where you come out of the cat's ***. I think you get the idea.
  16. Pepsi sucks and so does eastern North Carolina.
  17. It should be the other way around, thank you Robb and Elissa. Oh and Happy Birthday, TPR. Edit: Oh and Happy Birthday, Dave.
  18. Wow, they are really squeezing that baby in. ...and I'm really liking the colors.
  19. Nice Star Wars reference. ...and great pics, thanks for sharing.
  20. Wow, I forget about this great thread. Now most, if not all of my top 10 has been mentioned, so I won't go into great detail. Ok, here's my top 10 (in no particular order): 1.Carousel-a staple in most amusement parks. 2.Log Flume- again, a staple in most amusement parks. 3.Rapids Ride-no park's water rides are complete without this ride. No matter where you go, it's always one of the most popular rides in the park. ...and the only ride that makes me laugh from start to finish. 4.Spiderman (IOA)- reasons for this ride has already be mentioned. 5.Revenge of the Mummy-again, reasons already mentioned. 6.Batman- The Ride-The first of its kind (trains below the track & 4-across seating)and still a kickass coaster. ...it also led the way for coasters such as Nemesis, DD, and Montu. 7.Kumba-B&M's version of the sitdown multi-looper with a 4-across seating concept. ...this coaster also introduced new elements never before attempted on looping coasters. 8.Magnum-XL-First full-circuit coaster to top 200 feet, need I say more. 9.Superman-ROS (SFDL)-Intamin's first entry into the non-looping hyper/mega market. 10.Intamin Woodie-well, it's the best of both worlds. Now, the perfect park would have all of these. ...come to think of it, doesn't IOA/USF have the first 7 on this list. All they need now is a 200 foot Intamin woodie, and they would be the perfect park. Side note: I could probably make a top 10 list of just Disney too.
  21. I just don't get it. It just doesn't seem that interesting to me. Though I guess it's still better than the regular splashdown rides, since all they do is go up, around, and down.
  22. ^Yes, that's a much better POV. Anaconda looks like a kick a** ride and pretty smooth too, at least from what I could tell from the video.
  23. Come on, don't even kid about that.
  24. I actually like Harry Potter, so I don't mind the idea of theming some or all of TLC. ...well, as long as the don't screw with Dueling Dragons that is.
  25. I can see this being Chiller's last chance. If it has major downtime this year, I think it will be removed in 2008/09 and replaced with a family ride or coaster. ...just like Derek was kidding about, or was he kidding.
