  1. No possible way this would make operations faster, in fact it would slow them down significantly. Reason being that there are hardly enough people using Flash Pass to fill every third train, and if there's one thing I know the gp (or anyone for that matter) is not ok with is sending half empty trains while they wait in line. But anyways, it is very sad to see Shapiro leave! I strongly believe that his Chicago childhood was a strong reason the Little Dipper is still around today, and for that one reason alone im sad he's leaving. But truth is he did so many wonderful things for the parks. And hey, isn't Cedar Fair shopping around for at least two new board members now?
  2. ^^ Yes, but im wondering if the cars they pulled out for the press release are just the first and last cars of a longer train. does anybody know?
  3. I love those trains! glad to see the T-bar restraints in that video too. But holy woah trims!! Did anyone else see those going into the first hill after the launch? There's nothing I like better than launching straight into magnetic trims.
  4. St. Louis' Tower of Power does a random drop sequence, dropping cars randomly so you never know when your car is gonna go. Thats why the catch cars are coming down differently. Cool video BTW, loved opening day this year had such a great time.
  5. Oh my, what is this cycle chase fun?!
  6. Does anyone know if this ride had its epic fail of a break run entrance tweaked at all after how bad it turned out on Raptor? or is it the same?
  7. So i need some TPR member help. I'm a senior studying television and right now im working on my final documentary project, focusing on small parks in the U.S. in particular telling the story of Kiddieland. Anyone who has any special memories from this wonderful little park and is willing to share them with me, please reply to this thread or pm message me! Thanks! On a related note, I'm very happy to see progress being made to the little dipper over at great america. Its so wonderful this great ride will live on. Oh, and it seems that Lake Winnie will be opening two rides from Kiddieland, "Sea Warriors" and "Silly Saucers" this season!
  8. Looks sooo amazing! The MF fanboy in me just died a little, I do beleive I:305 is looking to go beyond my expectations, and I set some pretty high ones!
  9. Thank you Six Flags for making my baby (Gemini a.k.a. G$) popular in discussions again. haha. This certainly is exciting though and there is no debate, it's a steel hybrid now. I never rode old Texas Giant but will certainly go ride this! You can call me surprised about the direction this "refurbishment" is going!
  10. ^ Not a bad deal, especially if you live in the area. This cashless system is such a great idea, one that I wish a lot of bigger parks would catch onto. As for this new ride, oh I wonder where it will end up..
  11. Hmm lets see. -Cedar Point -Six Flags Great America -Kiddieland -Mt. Olympus -Santa's Village -Indiana Beach -Geauga Lake -Kings Island -Dollywood -Six Flags St. Louis -WDW -MK -Epcot -Studios -AK -Hershey -Dorney -Kennywood -Knoebels -Waldameer -Fun Forest -MoA (Nick Universe) -Universal Orlando
  12. Is WDW still the only park with Phillharmagic? I have not yet seen it myself but have heard good things.
  13. The Boss at SF:STL It was a lot better than I had remembered it being. Makes for a decent night ride too.
  14. I added myself, Carbondale IL. Home of SIU *woof*
  15. Just found this on http://www.southwhitehall.com/ confirming that Demon Dropn will be replacing Krazy Kars right across from ThunderCreek Mountain! "DORNEY PARK & WILDWATER KINGDOM DEMON DROP MAJOR SUBDIVISION #2009-104 REQUEST FOR PRELIMINARY/FINAL PLAN REVIEW The application by Cedar Fair, L.P. to further develop the property known as "Dorney Park/Wildwater Kingdom" ,located at 3830 Dorney Park Road. The plan is to remove the existing "Krazy Kar Ride" , portions of paving, concrete walkways, and fencing to accommodate the installation of a new 131.42 foot tall commercial amusement referred to as the "Demon Drop" with accompanying electrical/mechanical building, curbing, concrete walkways, and landscaping and relocated lighting. The project area - just north of the Center Stage Area and west of the "Thunder Creek Mountain" amusement - would affect approximately .66 acres (29,000 square feet) of the 187- acre property. The subject properties are zoned CR Commercial Recreation."
  16. ^simply asking, not saying you're wrong, but why do nylon wheels run faster than polyurethane? I didnt even think B&M had nylon wheels
  17. I:305's layout is very much like a megalite. I have yet to ride a megalite but they look like a lot of fun! I like to think of I:305 as a gigalite.
  18. Yes you are right, which is why i changed my example to the other jr. woodies since they are practicaly the same ride. Does any one know why they lost their status though? Cause I honestly can't think of anything that they have changed that would have caused this to happen, unless they have seat dividers and I can't remember if they do.
  19. Yes but it has happend before that a coaster has lost its status when its manual operation changed to automatic or computer controlled and major train modifications made. (i.e. Fairly Odd Coaster, Ghoster Coaster) and I doubt Six Flags will keep it manual.
  20. ^exactly why it won't retain its status
  21. As long as it doesn't become a "Wiggles" coaster i'll be happy. That whole area just really isn't my favorite. Since Camp Cartoon already has Jetsons my vote is for Bugs Bunny National Park. I wouldnt mind seeing it outside of a childrens area. Maybe somewhere in Hometown Square would make a good home for it.
