Tokyo Disney Resort Discussion Thread

Having not been there personally I fully trust you're right. It just seems that some of the TDR fantasyland (dumbo) is just incredibly dated looking. -

^ Fantasyland (with the huge eception of pooh) in Florida I would easily say is and is going to be superior to TDR fantasyland -
I think the point is that Disney lacks the Dick Kinzel self proclaimed attitude of they are stuck here and have to eat here. Then on top of that not even serving quality food. Disney on the other hand offers good quality at a decent price, even if they know the guests would pay more. This is regardless of where their main profit comes.

This is all really amazing stuff. Ugh I'm so excited! It's seems like they finally get it. I also really like how badly it seems John H wants a dark ride. All in all awesome stuff. So happy to be seeing these types of changes. I will say that playing a bunch of YouTube videos for songs in that presentation was really dorky. Haha -

Yeah they don't need to start building rides that exist 90% outside of the park *cough*magnum.. In all seriousness I do agree best used for more parking or possibly a new hr/employee housing building. Anyone who says cp is out of room clearly hasn't been to Indiana Beach -

One of the other plots of real-estate in that area rumured to be opened up is the Cedars Dorms. With rumors of big changes coming to cp employee housing, we could easily see Cedars be officially retired. Using wildcats spot to access that land is more than enough room for a big ride. -

WOW! So excited for the screen to be gone. I'm pretty surprised. Well thats definitely an item off my list of changes that needed to be made. -
Hey guys! I have a little secret to fill you in on. I'm actually part of the rides department at Santas Village Azoosment Park. And I promise we do have some fun stuff for 2012. I won't spoil it all yet though. ^believe me we would LOVE a wooden warrior clone! Alot of little stuff to take care of first at this park to get it really going though. But maybe! As for one of our new rides I'll give one hint. Cedar point has a lot of these, Chicago area now has none. Well not untill 2012 anyways...

Very cool, thanks for the video! -
Today I am finally getting to putting up my pictures from the Azoosment Park at Santa's Village. The park opened a couple of weeks ago and has been doing well so far. For those unaware of the history, Santa's Village was a small time park in Northern ILL for nearly fifty years. It closed in 2006 and most everything was auctioned from the park. The land is now leased to two groups, the Azoosment park at Santas Village and Paintball explosion, each utilizing a half of the property. These pictures were taken before the park opened for the day, thus the lack of people. These were also taken with my phone, so please excuse some lesser quality pictures. I will get to the pictures and let them do the talking.. Welcome to Santa's Village! Looking back at the entrance building from here you used to go left or right, but since Azoosment Park is only on half the property, now it's only open to the right. See.. Then we come across Santa's house The northpole outside Santa's house will be coming back in a couple of weeks Santa has lovely mushroom landscaping The old platform for the snowball tea cup ride is now home to hand cars Pretty cool magic show Santa's Treehouse Slide, a Santa's Village original Here is the home to the zoo side of the Azoosment Park They have some cool animals, fox's and deers and a camel and many other fun furry things. This is where the reindeer live Pony rides, horse rides, and the goofiest camel I'v ever seen are all back here. They have since finished painting the barn. It's also on this side of the park where you can catch a glimpse of the abandoned side of the property. Shows how much work they had to put into the rest of it! A really nice convoy ride. Another Santa's Village original Ballon Race, this particular ride came from Fun Spot in Indiana. Here is where they sell beer and such Midgo-racers, a Kiddieland ride Roto-whip, another Kiddieland ride Ice Cream shop Nice water feature They have a daily game show and an exotic animal show at this stage This is another food location, but it has a little surprise behind it..... Lama and bonus lama! Kiddie Wheel, also from Fun Spot So is the Scooby Swings A credit! Still has some work to do though... But should be open very soon Impromptu fence Star jets with many themed rockets, here is Men in Black.. Nascar... Batman... tasteful choice of theming The best ride in the park, the tilt-a-whirl. Also from Fun Spot A building full of birds and such. The sign on the building calls it Santa's Scales and Feathers. Sounds like Santa has one hell of a disease Lets go over here! The picnic grove is still here and quite nice but racing rapids.... is still closed This old ticket window sure is filled with a lot of negativity... But what do we have here! its another rescue from Fun spot. It will soon be living here, behind the hand cars Mr. Ostrich wants you to come see Azoosment park For real, the Azoosment Park is a great place and a great value to take the little ones to for the day, If you are in the area you should stop by!

One must also take into account that while Windseeker may be "simple" compared to the undertaking that is say Dragster or Millennium, this ride didn't even go vertical until after the winter, whereas Dragster and such had their sites cleared and basic footers poured well before the park even closed for the season. Windseeker had its footing poured in late Jan and the ride didn't even show up until late Feb. So to act like they have done greater things in less time is just inaccurate. Perhaps they should have started earlier maybe they wanted to and couldn't who knows and quite frankly who cares, this will be a good ride for Cedar Point and it will open when it opens. -
Ok so I kind of get it. Cedar Fair is appealing the approval of a test arrangement with the city over how said stadium would be paid for and built. It was not a permit or a contract, but just a preliminary discussion. Cedar Fair wanted their approval revoked (most likely to delay the process of this thing being built as long as possible) on the grounds that they did not conduct an environmental impact report. The court has ruled against Cedar Fair determining that since the approval of the report in question is not an official permit or contract, they did not have to have an environmental impact study. Thats at least what I got. And that Cedar fair has three ten year renewals left on the lease of the property.

^ Wow, those are really less significant than the windseeker seats. I'm mildly upset that Cedar Fair went with Mondial because this looks to be way more terrifying! -

Hidden treasures/left overs

^^ Ryan, the last time I was there I saw that too but they had covered it up with a piece of duct tape and in perm marker wrote "Backlot Stunt Coaster". It was really classy. Also about Skyscraper, at cp you can see the remains of Vertigo footers around it. -

^ That is correct. Six Flags St. Louis has its drunken barrels ride left rotting right in the middle of the park, across from the mine ride. Speaking of which the building next to River King Mine rides station is the old station and storage house for the dueling half of the ride. The current River King Mine Ride storage track area also has clearly had the building that was attached to it removed. I have no idea when this happend but it is evident by the wooden posts surrounding the transfer track. Six Flags Great America has also re-used Deja Vu's old entrance sign as Buccaneer Battles sign.
