  1. Well it seems the cat is out of the bag now! This ride will be a great addition to the Azoosment park and will give the park a more complete ride offering.
  2. Here's your clue. More to come very very soon. In the meantime look how awesome the horses are starting to look!
  3. Hmmmmm very good guess's guys. It's not the X coaster though. Racing Rapids is a future project/expansion area.
  4. Well done! Not only did you name our new ride in that list, but a couple of rides we were looking into. (I won't totally spill the beans yet though) As far as space left to expand, the direction we are currently heading in is through the old picnic grove and towards the old pond and racing rapids. If it weren't for the neighbors (Paintball explosion) using the other half of Santa's Village property, we would have plenty of room to expand in that direction. As for the wooded area directly behind the property you are correct, that is mostly McGraws (I'm impressed you knew this) Every time I see the wooded area though I cant help but picture a nice little terrain woodie rolling through there.... Oh how i miss IAAPA already! It was wonderful running into you, and I appreciate the thoughtfulness. The loss of Kiddieland was really sad but it definitely left a void in the Chicagoland area that we hope to fill. Coaster construction pics will be up by the end of the week, by then it should be a fairly easy guess. To those of you unfortunate enough (or maybe fortunate to have survived) to have ridden our last coaster, I do promise that the new coaster will be better than the Typhoon!
  5. Haha! that picture of the warning sign at the spiral gate is hilarious! I'm glad somebody noticed. I always found it funny and for the longest time that was my phone background.
  6. In case it wasn't entirely obvious I was joking. The coaster we are getting is actually a lot closer than nj. In all seriousness there will be some good construction progress by the end of next week. Look for there to be plenty of pictures.
  7. ^I am happy to say that the park is in a MUCH better state than where it was during that trip, and will only continue to get better. Now on to the news at hand, 2013 is going to be a very exciting year, giving everyone here a good reason to visit. A NEW CREDIT! Now I don't want to give too much away, but I will say this. We scored a pretty sweet deal on craigslist on a gently used Miler from New Jeresey, only slight water damage!
  8. Gemini is a great ride to work! Probably one of the best. If there is something that makes ride locations better is the guests attitude at each ride. Different rides inexplicably and consistently get the same type of guest interaction. Like the difference between guests attitude at Monster and Witches Wheel is drastic. It really is fascinating to see how predictable people really can be.
  9. Working at CP can be the best time of your life and rarely does your ride location have anything to do with it. Its all about the people you meet and the friends you make. Now some rides are more fun to operate than others yes. But a summer at CP is really what you make of it and what attitude you bring with you.
  10. For the sake of argument I will take your argument with the example of the railroad seriously. In that specific case there had been incidents of railroad employees being present while individuals were using the bridge to jump into the water. Nothing was done to deter such action, thus setting a precedent that the posted rule was void. In the case of the zoo i'm willing to guess that there there hasn't been a case in the past of a similar rule violation, but if there had been someone else also stupid enough to stand or allow someone else to stand on the railing, I'm confident the zoo would uphold the posted rule. Thus, the posted rule is the precedent and upheld. By your account there would never be a need for posted warnings, because signs apparently do not hold up in a court of law. This is entirely inaccurate and if such were the case there wouldn't be warning signs on nearly everything. The mother did have to witness a terrible event, but in a way it almost seems to be natural justice. The only person I feel truly sorry for is the poor child who had to suffer being eaten by dogs.
  11. Does anybody know when the Legend of Jack Sparrow walk through is supposed to open? They had originally said Summer, and then Fall. Which speaking of Fall is coming quickly to a close. So has there been any word on this opening soon? Not that I'm terribly excited for this, I would just like to be able to see it first hand when I'm in town for IAAPA next week. But i'm guessing at this point that won't be happening.
  12. Yeah. Casinos tend to work pretty much wherever you put them. Even on rivers.
  13. ^^ How do you figure? Sure, maybe gross income tops 30 million if they have an unbelievably stellar first season. So ok $30 mil, but then you have to start taking away your overhead, labor costs, electric and water bills, insurance costs ect. Besides, Louisville isn't exactly the biggest market. 42nd in the U.S. to be exact. Im not saying that the greater Louisville area couldn't support a park, these things just take time and some reasonable expectations. Anytime a new park opens (most hospitality businesses really), it should be expected to not receive a profit for at least the first three, more likely five years of operation. This is even more so true for parks that have closed. The chances of a shuttered park reopening are always slim. The chance that that reopened park succeeds is even slimmer. That being said, it really is a shame the fair board and Mr. Hart can't seem to reach an agreement. Anytime a park sits like this is a real disappointment.
  14. It'll be my first iaapa! I'm really looking forward to it. Going to be there representing Santas Village Azoosment Park.
  15. Um, Americans with Disabilities Act http://www.ada.gov/
  16. That is a lot of whoring you did there! Shame I didn't see you at Santa's Village, I guarantee I was there as I am everyday. And for the record we are currently refurbing that funhouse. It will be open in the park in time for for our Harvest Festival.
  17. I'm truly honored to be an official ducky hiding spot! With great power comes great responsibility. Looking forward to meeting everyone who comes out to find it! So glad you guys had a good day! Great tr!
  18. I'll be working at Santas Village that day so I will be sure to say hello!
  19. That video is so terrible I couldn't make it through it.
  20. Steel base does not always mean portability. Most pier rides have steel bases such as the new iron shark in Galveston and I assure you it is not portable.
  21. I spy with my little eye.... Antique cars still on left over sections of track!!
  22. I havnt heard about the buzzy bees ride being temp set ip there. But I have heard not to expect to see ERC untill 2013. I'm just glad to heat they are fixing it opposed to scrapping it.
  23. Though the specific wording suggests otherwise I think it's more of a guideline to guests saying if you are above 290 don't expect to fit. Though it's different for everyone I can personally say that 290 as the suggested weight is fairly accurate
