  1. Is 165 feet really tall enough to produce the worlds fastest woodie? I believe Outlaw run currently has that record. Now let me put on my crazy enthusiast theorist hat and say this, could this be the launched woodie we've been waiting for?
  2. Low CAPACITY my friend. And that they both are. Cajun is a great mouse though, glad to see it find a home though.
  3. I give up. By now im expecting they are building both a giant wing rider named "The Bat" AND an Invert named "Banshee" ugh they are good at playing this game. Wait for the jr woodie to get announced at 10.
  4. Having been in there personally I can confirm that there are always RC and AE cars in maintenance. I wouldn't look into that too much. The David thing, I was thinking the same thing. Especially with the crumbling rocks from the teaser. It matches up rather well with the other Goliath logos SF has used. Anyways, I'm intrigued to say the least.
  5. Was able to marathon Viper last night due to how dead the park was. Holy cow is that ride fun. I mean don't get me wrong its always fun but it was great to ride it with a new perspective. Its an intense little ride! Going backwards up the lift does make you realize how small the whole ride is. Much approved. Even all of the guests were talking about how much better they preferred this to Batman backwards. Now I have to real quick mention the garbage that is Ignight Grand Finale. Wow is this show horrible! The singing was awful, the dancing was awful, the story is terrible (is it just me or does the use of the Chicago Fire in a cheesy amusement park show feel wrong?) and they couldn't even get half of the mics to work with out terrible feedback. I will say the club scene has a good use of lasers That was cool I must admit. No one in the crowd was impressed or even into it. It was soooo terrible.
  6. I think it's more of a knee jerk reaction to how their season started, with roll backs left and right. Even leviathan up in Canada fell victim to the wind this year already.
  7. 49's won the bid today to host the SuperBowl in 2016. SuperBowl 2016 Maybe the park will do some sort of special event during Super Bowl L
  8. A lot of coasters wheel bogies are designed that way. I believe dragon wagons have two road wheels per bogie.
  9. Welcome to your new home Wheelie! These were just posted to FS:AP FB page
  10. It's funny, that station is actually from Zforce. It would be neat to see it with a third coaster. I can't think of any other station that has outlived that many coasters.
  11. Just wait for the seagulls to all come back. The keyholes will be white again in no time.
  12. Xelerator Pics are good. Silver Bullet pic has some focus problems. What are you shooting with?
  13. Glen Echo entrance also is similar to CP's new entrance. Would be neat if CP had that same sort of art deco lettering between them as a giant sign.
  14. Ugh this makes me sick. I totally 100% get what they are doing and this new layout makes so much sense, but that was one of my favorite park entrances. The architectural continuity between those ticket booths and the rest of the main entry plaza all the way to the carousel was nice. Blah! For this to be happening the same year that they remove the park square area from hometown square is equally disheartening.
  15. Has anyone ever liked any of the dorms that are actually out on the point? I've always heard horror stories. Not that the other dorms were that much better. I liked Cedars personally. If you were rooming with friends it was great. You wouldn't have to worry about missing a bus or anything, just a short hop skip and a jump and you were in the park. Golds is time to go. Those dorms are over a hundred years old I believe. Its definitely their time to go, but sad to see a part of the park change after it avoided doing so for 100+ years. As far as rides go, I think Dragster will have the shortest life expectancy of any of the modern coasters at cp. I can see rides like millennium and magnum outliving it. The next to go will be one of the old arrows, most likely CCMR. Speaking of which, CCMR was supposed to be getting those left over trains from Gemini this year. Has anyone heard anything more about those plans?
  16. I have to say OPA at Mt Olympus. That thing was making noises a ride should never make. Which was surprising given how classy the rest of the place is....
  17. Loving this thread. Had to join in.
  18. With lower overheads and more per cap spending, water parks can sometimes be the cash cow behind an amusement park. What Ed Hart is doing makes a lot of sense. It's a cheaper alternative to doubling the amusement park side and is a pretty sure way to bring people in. I wouldn't worry though, he sounds extremely committed to the amusement park. I wouldn't worry about the focus being only on the waterpark side.
  19. The Somali pirates want nothing to do with Carnival cruises. Carnival ships are dirtier than theirs. Besides no one on a Carnival cruise has any money to steal from.
  20. It's definitely possible to hit every coaster in a day during the last week of August, just bring a good pair of shoes and don't stop moving. Especially possible if you have early entry and can knock out GK then.
  21. Wow! What a nightmare. Definitely makes me never want to use them. I'm right in the middle of trying to book a cruise and I'm finding it hard to completely ignore Carnivals prices. I've been on two cruises, a Holand of America cruise to Alaska and a Carnival Carribean cruise, so I'm well aware how subpar Carnival can be. If you are just looking for a have fun and drink yourself silly cruise though, is it worth it to chance it on Carnival? Ugh they are just so cheap. Anyways , I love the picture the AP dug up of Triumph on its maiden voyage. Such a confidence building photograph..
  22. Its been gone for a couple of seasons now. It got replaced by a three point game. The backdrop of the ride is still up and serves as the backdrop to the game.
  23. That entirely depends on what type of launch system they go with. From the interview it sounds like LSM (and that absolutely would be the way to go) but what that means is they can do either, lift hill launch or flat. Maverick is the only LSM lift hill launch I've been on. and I must say it is a lot of fun. To the GP its really deceiving as they see a normal looking lift hill and aren't expecting the sudden launch. Though it's really not hard to trick the GP.
  24. I was always under the impression that it was Vekoma who designed the launch for Hulk, or am I mistaken.
  25. Valleyfair got rid of their Chaos after the 2011 season. These rides have really become a rarity.
