Small World at WDW open
SharkTums replied to Jose Eber's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^^Is it the one near the old Sky Bucket station? Elissa "there are still too many strollers in stupid Magic Kingdom!" Alvey -
It's funny! My parents are coming out next week and they ask me "what's the weather going to be like?". I just LAUGH!!! I told them it could be 40 and raining or 80 and sweltering! Elissa "I don't think they believed me but it's true!" Alvey

If you could only do three parks in Japan...
SharkTums replied to CreativeForce's topic in Ask Alvey
Awwww Poor John getting to go to all those cool places, then Japan!!!!! Elissa "not sympathetic!" Alvey -
^Yeah we're the spoiling parents! Elissa "who couldn't like parents that take you to amusement parks!" Alvey

I don't have that much stuff...I just piled it all up and even borrowed some of Derek's for that show! The whole premise was they wanted me to find someone who did NOT like coasters the way we do. Hence, Robb couldn't be in the show that much . Ian hated most coasters so it worked out well! There's another show out there with Robb and I riding Ghostrider in the front seat. That's about it I think. Elissa "I taped that show during finals!" Alvey

Europa Park Discussion Thread
SharkTums replied to Ultracoasters's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Wow...I had never really seen pictures of it done! It looks great! Elissa "I hope you don't get too wet on it!" Alvey -
^Yes. Unless you (or your family) are the types that have to stop every hour to stretch or get a snack or crap like that! Believe it or not there are people that call an hour drive a 'long drive'. Robb and I will only stop when we have to get gas. We drive to Vegas and Phoenix straight through from LA! Elissa "the Texas drives are not bad at all!" Alvey

Small World at WDW open
SharkTums replied to Jose Eber's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Eh...I still don't think I'm in any rush to try out the new Small World! Elissa "I kind of liked having it closed and avoiding all the strollers!" Alvey -
You don't need to hold on. You get some nice floater air but nothing major and it is very smooth. I usually am hiding under a jacket or article of clothing and just use my feet to brace myself for impact at the bottom. Elissa "I Love Vekoma Rides!" Alvey

Europa Park Discussion Thread
SharkTums replied to Ultracoasters's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
So, is it a coaster, or a boat ride?? When will the debate start? We just got our reservation confirmation for Hotel El Anduluz so I'm excited! Elissa "hope you don't get too wet on the ride!" Alvey -
Kip... I was ALL OVER Space Probe 7!!! In fact, it was my favorite drop ride until I rode Blue Fall last year. It was incredible. So well themed, ride ops stayed in character and did a great job! I still have my onride photo somewhere! I put it on my 'senior page' in my yearbook! I'd be really pissed if they scraped it. Last I heard they were trying to save it but who knows. Looking into our Europe Trip it looks like Gardaland has a "mini" version. Same theming and enclosed top, but only about 150' tall. I hope it's as good! Elissa "I even got the Kiddie Woodie Credit at Wonderland!" Alvey

Some WDW Questions...
SharkTums replied to maliboomer's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
My Thoughts... 1. It's a 5 minute walk to the TTC so just walk and get on the Epcot Monorail, it's faster. 2. Yup 3. No...from what I've read on the disney sites it will most likely be running...but not with people in early jan. It is very early so who knows, but don't get your hopes up! Elissa "Monorail, Monorail, they say those things are..." Alvey -
2 of the Shockwave Trains were sitting next to Scream at SFMM. There's a good chance the 3rd was sitting around somewhere also, out of view from the GP. As for Poor Tidal Wave...who knows...all I know is it's rotting in that parking lot and I've seen ACEers steal parts. Elissa "anyone else have a clue?" Alvey

Kings Island (KI) Discussion Thread
SharkTums replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I think the park is very much like SFMM. It has this amazing potential, and a crap load of rides...but none of which you care to ride more than once, and it's so annoying 90% of the time that you just dont even want to go the rest of the time! Shari, I totally see where you're coming from. Robb and I know when and how to go to SFMM and have a good time, I'm sure you're the same with PKI. Elissa "they need to improve capacity and queues!" Alvey -
^Yeah but the sad thing was...it's starting to show a bit of Arrowness. When we rode it last year, it was noticeably more rough. Don't get me wrong, it is still by far the smoothest Arrow multi-looper, but it did concern me a bit! Elissa "Oh where is our beloved Alan Schilke!!!! " Alvey

DIE Elissa "You're so not cool!" Alvey

You're only interested in Disney right? At Disney the crowds were bad, but manageable. We were there during "normal" season. From what I understand the park is NEVER empty, just busy, busier and nearly unbearable. We were there during "busier" but with as efficient as they were, fastpass, and the general awe of the place it was fine! Make sure to arrive at least one hour before the gates open as the lines get VERY long just to get in. Run right in and get a fastpass for something then standby for something else right away. Don't worry as much about Disney Seas, it wasn't as busy and quite easy to do without fastpass. Elissa "other than Disney and Fuji-Q the parks were DEAD" Alvey

SharkTums replied to CreativeForce's topic in Ask Alvey
You coming up this way anytime soon? We'd be happy to lend you some of the really great books and maps we have. Do you just need Tokyo or other places as well? Elissa "Tokyo is easy!" Alvey -
Hey Old Man...I was so close to hitting the delete key on your post...but that's okay... I remember seeing an old man try to do a trick on a log flume one time...he was with a hot chick and a sexy gay man...the only thing this trick produced was wetting the old man...it was amusing for all but him Elissa "keep your log flume tricks to yourself!" Alvey
