  1. I did always think it was kind of odd how that park had 2 of everything! Two observation towers, Two...damn, I do'nt even remember now, but I remember they had multiples of rides! Elissa "hopefully will be there 24 June!" Alvey
  2. It's really hard to explain...we're planning on taking many pictures this time around! They were kind of "backwards" as in the 'hole' was up front and the bowl was in the back...so if you took a dump, it was kind of 'on display' instead of down in the hole! Sorry if that was too graphic, but it's the Netherlands! Elissa "Who needs Goliath when you have backwards toilets?" Alvey
  3. I can't say too much yet since I don't have kids of my own, but I think I would be VERY cautious. I guess I come from the school of "just because they're tall enough, does not mean that they're ready to ride". Perfect example is X at SFMM...I really don't think a 7 year old belongs anywhere near that ride! Also I think we as 'enthusiasts' are luckier than the 'GP' in this sense as we know which rides are smoother or rougher for children. For example I'd rather take a young child on a Vekoma Roller Skater which is bigger, taller, faster than some of those kiddies at Carnivals that are Spine Adjusters because I know the Roller Skater is a nice smooth ride. I think it is very important to get babies used to parks...the loud noises, all the visual distractions, etc. If they grow up with it, it will be 2nd nature once they're able to ride and they won't be as scared. Elissa "no clue as to what my kids first ride will be!" Alvey
  4. Hey! I would eat Rye Bread!!! (only dipped in ketchup though!) I'm more of a plain old white bread girl... As for civilization...DECLINE! At least we'll have some cool stuff as we go spiraling into the abyss! Elissa "Mmmm Rye Bread and Ketchup" Alvey
  5. It's been way too long since I took Algebra...what was FOIL again? Was it First, Outer, Inner, Last? I seriously can't believe I don't remember this anymore! Elissa "getting to old" Alvey
  6. Moreso the "Mod" communities...actually showing what you can do and getting it out there. Elissa "eh, games" Alvey
  7. Anyone else notice the uh, "interesting" toilets over by Superman??? Elissa "we were quite disturbed!" Alvey
  8. ACTUALLY... I work for the Special Olympics here in Santa Clarita. It's really awesome...keep an eye out cause I'll be posting something cool about it soon! Elissa "best job ever!" Alvey
  9. Elissa "my other favorite doesn't exist anymore " Alvey
  10. ^Welcome...Glad to have you here! Elissa "it's like my new family here" Alvey
  11. That's more of a question to email Jim (head of Westcoaster) Elissa "You're welcome here...at least for now !" Alvey
  12. I think all those things are just kind of standard...don't worry about them..just put in what you want! Elissa "low-maintenance" Alvey
  13. We actually worked with the PR department at Dollywood! We had such a great time at their Press Event back in April of 2002 with Dolly Parton herself that we've been in contact with them ever since. As for stupid policies...yup...I love it when parks tell you to put something in your pocket instead of holding it. My stuff is much safer in my hands than in a pocket! Elissa "Fire in the Hole!" Alvey
  14. I know you didn't ask me, but I have an idea as well because my brother is interested in this field. Believe it or not, being active in the online mod and gaming communities is a good start. It's kind of a way to build up a portfolio without ever working for a game company. Next up, try to get in as a "tester". You're starting out at the bottom, but sometimes that's what you have to do. Also, you have to be more specific..what exactly would you like to do in the games business? There are roles in pretty much every normal aspect, as well as managing, building, scripting, programming, art, etc. There are also several colleges that now also offer programs in Gaming. Fulsail comes to mind. I'm sure Robb will help more later! Elissa "married to a gamer!" Alvey
  15. ^Awww...Thanks for the offer but I don't think we're going to make it to PKI this year. I'll definitely have to keep your 6 year old in mind next year though to finally get on that Scooby Doo Bat Coaster thing at PKI!!! If you need any help planning trips you've come to the right place, they're not always as expensive as they look! Elissa "make sure to post some pix of your girl!" Alvey
  16. And for people like me it tells me to stay far, far away! Hey Dave, remember country music Walt day at BGT a few years ago?!?! Elissa "if I was into this stuff, it sounds cool though!" Alvey
  17. Hey everybody! This thread is simple! Rather than having a million little threads about everything that goes on at the Disneyland Paris Resort, including Disneyland Paris and Walt Disney Studios Park, this thread is designed to consolidate it all into one user-friendly thread. Feel free to use it to post updates, trip reports, questions, comments, and of course, general discussion. For pictures and videos of these park as well as past updates, see TPR's Disneyland Paris Park Index Page and TPR's Walt Disney Studios Park Index Page. Official Resort Website Below are some links to past updates from the resort, you may be interested in.
