Dear Custom Title Fairy, Now that I've been around for over six months and post on a somewhat regular basis, I've met the 150 real post criteria and would like to request a custom title. The title I'm hoping you'll deem me worthy of would be "Always feeling Cracka lacka licious" Happy New Year! JEAPUgrad

Kings Dominion (KD) Discussion Thread

KD doesn't need a McDonalds. KD has Chik-Fil-A and Chik-Fil-A ROCKS!!! What makes a trip to KD even more special? Knowing that there are TWO Sonics on the way. Sorry for the off topic rant. -
Having spent most of my adult life out and about in the neighborhood where Real World DC was filmed, I spent most of my summer dodging this season's cast. Now that Survivor, Top Chef, and Glee are not showing new episodes, I need a new TV fix for a while. What are your thoughts on the first episode?

Anyone else find it funny that a thirteen year old is trying to explain homosexuality and percentages? Not a flame or personal attack, just saying, really dude?

^Please not another three weeks of this again... I can't take much more of "what Cedar Fair was thinking" and people acting like they can read Cedar Fair's minds. -
If you could tear down one coaster

Where In The World Do TPR Members Live?
JEAPUgrad replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I can't post myself...seems the link isn't working. I live in Pasadena MD which happens to be one town to the east of Millersville MD. Why is Millersville MD significant? It's the home to Premier Rides HQ as well as IntaRide, Intamin's North American (if I'm not mistaken) division. -

I live about four miles northeast of SFA and we got 20 inches... Six inches is a minor inconvenience Twelve inches is an annoyance Twenty inches in an aching back and swearing to move south as soon as possible. -

^as a gay man, I too am fascinated by boobies. that's one of the benefits of being a homo, getting all the boobies you could possibly want. -

As preposterous as it often was, the old Thrill Ride was still awesome. Screamscape does the same thing responsibly (and is great), but sometimes "what if" is just more fun. If nothing else, Mr. Coker does an excellent job with his descriptive writing of coaster reviews. When I get the off season blues, I read his ride reviews to brighten my day. -

I posted exclusively on URC for about the past twelve years. I've come to realize that the good ol days have come and gone for that site and decided to post more often here than there as there is much more conversation here than there. Great_Ump on URC. JEAPUgrad stands for Jim Evans Academy of Professional Umpiring Graduate. -

I'd rather have the park tell me whats going on than have some fourteen year old kid guess what's going on from something he think he sees on the webcam. Saves all the headache from all the uneducated "engineers" on any particular online forum. -

The Intimidator 305 site is currently down. The webcam has been having issues so maybe this is why it's down. Or maybe we'll get our first blog entry in nearly a month? I don't understand how filing one blog entry a month keeps people excited about a new ride... -
I know I'm in the minority here, but that's just how I feel about Cedar Point. I only go when they add a new coaster. I'm not a huge fan of the park and think two parks closer to me have a better collection of coasters (SFGAdv and KD). If it's another five years before I get back to the Point, then so be it. I'll be at Holiwood Nights.

Funny Things That Go Unnoticed
JEAPUgrad replied to atem122's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Pre Six Flags branding at Adventure World (now SFA), the mermaid creature on the front of the pirate ship ride use to have pointy triangular nipples that stuck out about four inches from the sculptures chest. They were filed off after a few people complained. -
^Dominator was repainted before it opened at KD. I never did understand why they waited until the coaster was erected to paint Dominator? Voodoo/Posessed was painted before being erected at Dorney.
-
I've been told when Dominator was relocated from Geauga Lake, a new lift was manufactured by B&M. Can anyone else confirm this to be accurate?

According to KD's Facebook page, both yellow lift hill structures are now complete. They still need to complete the track work for the lift, of course. From the view of the webcame, something looks a bit off. It looks like if you draw a line at the same diagonal angle as the existing lift track from the station that there will be several feet between the first trussel (from the station) and the track. -

Re: Premier Drifting Coaster I get the sense that this might be what happens when a coaster and a whip mate. Sounds pretty cool actually.
