Not likely seeing as how they conveniently broke it before it even left the state of Texas. It left New Jersey with a 90 degree lift came and to Texas with a 45 degree one....... Broken things can be fixed I don't think it's worth the money, the time, or the hassle to fix a ride that's already seen it's best years and is out dated technology. We're talking about a coaster that opened up twenty three years ago. I've never been on UT and I'd rather see SFA scrap it than invest a bunch of money on the ride and take a chance on it. It's not worth the credit to me.

The problems SFA faces now are directly tied to the 1999 season when they received the Six Flags branding. Many people in this area felt that they were lead to believe that an entire new park was being built inside Adventure World's gates. When April 1999 rolled around and the park opened for the season, there was a tremendous amount of buzz in the region. The fact of the matter is the park simply wasn't ready to open for the season. Opening Weekend many rides were still not in service from their winter rehabs, Joker's Jinx and Two Face weren't open both being the new for 1999 attractions (JJ would open in late April, Two Face mid May), the Batman Stunt Show wasn't open and this was a real bust for SFA. They've had their share of incidents that have gained national attention over the years from shootings both inside and out of the park's gates, an inside robbery job, and the couple Two Face emergency evacuation incidents.... They have a tough road ahead of them to bring back the General Public to how it use to be in the WW/AW days. I think after a decade of doing all the wrong things, this park is on it's way back. Thomas Town is a huge addition for this park. Someone already mentioned that KD is getting a Planet Snoopy next year and BGW received the new Sesame Street land this year. HersheyPark, just an hour and a half to our north, has for the most part has really bolted down and geared towards families with their additions. Farhenheit being the exception of course. Bring the families back is the trend in the industry. I hate to say that and I really hate it as an enthusiast but it's true. We're not going to see the Coaster Wars that we saw ten years ago until these parks start makring money again. I'm just happy to see SFA finally jumping on board.

Going back to 2001, SFA never really received the fully functional product from Vekoma. The third train was never operational and was later scrapped for parts for the other two trains. As we all know, Vekoma could never deliver on the promise to have the trains decline on the lift hill instead of the station. Problems have plauged Batwing from the start. I don't fault SFA for these problems but I do fault them for opening the ride when it wasn't perfect. Batwing's Media Day was mid-June 2001. I was there. I'm guessing there was all kinds of pressure to get this coaster open. While I can only guess here, I think they saw what happened with Volcano down at KD a few years prior and made every attempt to open the coaster as soon as possible, even if it meant working out the kinks at a later date. Eight years later the kinks haven't been worked out. I commend the new management staff at SFA this year. They've been able to increase the capacity on this ride to a two train operation. They've been able to make use of both sides of the station. They don't have to dispatch in any particular order either. I had a person needing assistance getting on the ride due to a physical handicap on my side of the platform and the other train dispatched a couple of times before we were off.

I agree. The great thing about SFA this season is that the new Park President, John Winkler, has made some pretty drastic and quick changes to the park. John was previously at Great Adventure for much of the past decade and he was at Great America before that. He's brought a new culture to the park and those of us who live locally and go often have seen the difference. I love SFA and I know I'm probably one of few people in the coaster community that loves this park. I spent many a summer days there as a child at Wild World and Adventure World. I'm not the SFA Fanboy that defends the park no matter what. If I see something that not right or out of place, I'll give an unbiased report about it. I really think Chang is headed for SFA despite what all the early rumors report.

Worst Theme Park Experience
JEAPUgrad replied to deathbydinn's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Worst in the Park Experience- I was at Great Adventure on August 14th, 2003...the gay that started the blackout for the Northeast US/Eastern Canada grid. No fault of the park's just not a good day to be there. Nothing operated after about 4pm. We didn't arrive at the park until close to 2pm. Needless to say there weren't any tolls driving home on the turnpike. Worst Out of the Park Experience- this past March, I bought two two-year Platinum Passes from Busch Gardens Europe. We signed up for the easy payment plan where it only costs around $12.50 per month for the passes. My partner and I went to BGE for the preview pass holder day. Two weeks later we were in Central Florida and visited BGA and Seaworld. We missed the soft opening for Manta by about three hours. At some point in June, my bank, Bank of America sent me brand new debit/credit cards with new numbers. There had been a security breach somewhere internally for them that resulted in the new cards. Without thinking about it, I never contacted the park to update my account. I take full responsibility to for it. My partner and I decided that we were going to day trip down to Williamsburg in mid August to say our farewells to BBW. I decided to pull up my BoA account and check to make sure BGE was receiving their monthly payments that were set up to automatic bill pay. I did this because as I went over my last statement, I don't remember seeing the charges on there. Sure enough, I check the account and I hadn't paid BGE since May. I called the park to update my account and pay them what I owed them so we could visit the following day. When I called the park, I was transferred to Guest Relations. I explained the situation with BoA to the associate. The associate told me that my passes had been cancelled due to no payment. He went on to ridicule me about not paying my bills and it was very insulting. None the less, I asked for a Supervisor and after being cussed out by the employee for asking to speak with his Supervisor, I was placed on hold for 20 minutes I spoke to the Supervisor. I explained to the Supervisor what happened, I admitted complete fault, I told them I was willing to pay them what I owed them ($72) and wanted my pass reactivated. I told the Supervisor that I didn't appreciate the language that his subordinate used towards me and I was very angry at that point. No big deal, right? Wrong. The Supervisor went on to ridicule me about not paying my bills and he refused to take the $72 that I was willing to pay them for the missing months. He told the park has a policy that they don't allow people who don't pay them their monthly fees to reactivate their passes. After going round and round with the Supervisor I asked to speak to his Supervisor. He told me "the bus stops here" and I told him I wanted to speak to the General Manager of the park. The Supervisor hung the phone up on me. When I called the park back, I told the operator I wanted to speak to the General Manager of the park. She told me that she could not transfer me to the General Manager unless I knew his or her name. The operator transferred me to Guest Relations. I hung up and called one of my "in the know" enthusiasts buddies and got the name of the GM. I called the park back, gave the operator the name of the GM and was transferred. To my surprise, the GM picked up the phone. After telling him the whole situation from start to finish, I was told there was nothing he could do. He gave me a number for corporate office in Orlando. I called Corporate Office in Orlando spoke to several people as no one wanted to take my call and finally spoke with Jennifer. Jennifer told me that after three months of not receiving payment, they automatically cancel the account. I asked Jennifer if they made any attempt to contact me and notify me of the problem. Jennifer told me that it is their policy not to spend time to track people down who don't pay their bills. The corporate philosophy is that there is little chance that they will see the money therefore they don't spend the time or resources trying to collect it. Fair enough. Working in Hotel Management, I could relate. It's a shame no one below Corporate Office could communicate this practice to me. I insisted that Jennifer charge me the back amount that I owed which was around $72 as I felt it was the right thing to do. Jennifer did dismiss the notion that I could not purchase season passes for the parks again. I could start a new two year plan but could not have my old passes reactivated. Jennifer never offered any apologies for how I was spoken to, cussed at, etc. by the employees of the park. I wrote a letter to Guest Services or the Park, the GM of the Park, and to the Corporate Offices in Orlando. I wrote the same letter to all three departments and CC'ed each department at the bottom of the letter. A month and a half later, I have not received any kind of response from anyone. My only expectation is an apology for how I was spoken to by the first guy in Guest Relations. I don't want free passes or a discount. I want to be acknowledged that as a guest of theirs, I was mistreated by their associate and all I want is an apology. A month and a half later I have not heard back from anyone. I will never set foot in one of their parks as long as InBev/AB or who ever owns the theme park division owns the theme park division. When I'm not umpiring games on the ballfield, I'm a Guest Services Manager for a hotel chain. I guess they have the attitude that they are so big that they don't need my money and they sure as hell will never see another dollar of it. -
Reps from SFA have told several people, myself included, that a steel coaster will be added in 2011. I know a handful of other people that have been involved in similar conversations. All of us have been told pretty much the same thing...children's area in 2010 and steel coaster in 2011. These conversations took place before the park announced Thomas Town in April. All we've been told is that a coaster will come to SFA in 2011. None of us know whether it will be a new ride or a relocated ride. I'm not willing to give up my source so keep that in mind. There is a lot of buzz in the coaster community around happenings at SFA in this region. There is an ACE event this weekend and many are hoping more details about the 2011 coaster are leaked. I've posted several reasons why I think Chang is headed for SFA and would post them here but I'm tired of being told how wrong I am regarding this on other forums. It would probably be more appropriate to post them in the official SFA thread but I've grown tired of trying to find it.

^yea you'd never know it if you solely relied on the official I305 page for all your I305 information. I think it's great that we have many outlets for new information. The parkis usung Twitter/Facebook, we have Clint Novak and his updates, and random posts from trip reports. It'd be nice if they kept the Official I305 page current with new pics/blogs and get the webcam back online. -
Going to see Blink 182/ Fall Out Boy in VA Beach on Friday. Just found out All American Rejects were added to the concert line up. Haven't seen Blink since 1999 WHFStival so this should be a good show.

http://twitpic.com/jip0x That's the pic that confirms that the bottoming out of the first drop into the first turn around has been completed. KD's Facebook page states taht this is actually 1/4 of the entire turn. You do not need to have a Twitter Account to view the pic. I don't have an account and could see the pic just fine. -
You're only 14..give it a couple more years. Shockwave (KD) absolutely destroys not only my manhood but my knees as well. After my last ride, I thought I'd need a wheelchair to get me to the parking lot. I couldn't walk very well.

RCT2 Patches
JEAPUgrad replied to JEAPUgrad's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
Sorry...I didn't realize there was a RCT 2 help thread, -
I'm the fat guy in the yellow on the right. This was taken shortly before my final Capital Pride Street Festival ended as an organizer. I threw DC's largest annual party with 300,000 of my closest friends for eight years. No more Red Bull!

I play RCT 2 religiously. I'm not a gamer by any stretch of the imagination and just can't get into all the 3D graphics of RCT3. With that being said, I'm running into software errors that RCT2 later had patches released. The problem here is that when I go to the RCT2 webpage, Windows Vista doesn't reconize the page. I've tried a number of times to contact Atari about this and I never get a response back. Any suggestions?
