  1. Taking a likeness to thickness already at such a young age? I believe that the new double spine of the track results in fewer support columns. Just two of them.
  2. GO RAVENS!!!! I'm personally hoping that with the Colts resting their starters for what will be three weeks by the time that they play again that the time off will be a disadvantage to them. I'm not old enough to remember when the Colts were in Baltimore but still raised to never root for them. That's like rooting for Pittsburgh. Ew. Pittsburgh.
  3. ^Not sure. We haven't had an update from Clint with KDFansite in about three weeks. KD has posted a few pics on Twitter but haven't really said too much about the project itself. Trackwork was suppose to be completed by Jan 1st 2010 but I'm guessing with all the rain and snow the area has had since the fall began that they're a bit behind. I was hoping to see how much Stunt Tower/Drop Zone would be swaying with the high winds we had this past weekend but the webcam went down again last week.
  4. ^Agreed. This could've gotten ugly quick.
  5. Has anybody seen the Baman and Piderman series on Youtube? I love those animated shorts!
  6. Growing up in a very conservative area, I tried for a few years as a teenager to suppress my attraction to men. I dated girls, tried to "do it" many times, and simply put, my body isn't wired that way. My pole just doesn't go north for woman. I've watched hours of straight "entertainment" as a result of what I thought was a problem and it just doesn't do anything for me. I've never understood why people say "it's a choice". I'm not offended (it takes a lot to offend me). If it's a choice, why would anyone choose to be gay? Why would anyone choose to be less equal than their straight counterparts? Why would anyone subject themselves to discrimination whether in be when trying to rent a room or apartment, in the workforce? Why would anyone choose to live a lifestyle that is riddled with an awful virus like HIV/AIDS? No one who's ever said homosexuality is a "choice" has been able to explain to me why and how it's a choice. Getting married is a choice. Having children you can't really afford to have is a choice. Getting a divorce is a choice. I'm not saying there wouldn't be gay divorce is marriage was legal in the States, but I think gays and lesbians certainly hold marriage to a higher regard than our straight counterparts. I'm tired of being told by people that I can't love a man that same way they love someone of the opposite sex...why not? Don't use the bible as an excuse...you can't use a fictional book to support a non-fictional arguement.
  7. Shouldn't the "Epic Fail" category be called the WORST Epic Fail? By saying it's the best epic fail, to me, it sounds like you're happy it happened despite it's less than favorable results...
  8. Lesbians are gross... It ain't like in the movies
  9. ^Like civil unions? By calling it something different defeats the purpose of trying to become equal to the fullest extent of the law. There are over 900 privileges and rights that come with marriage according to the Human Rights Campaign (HRC). At least here in the United States. Gay couples here don't have hospitalization rights under the law for example. Lets say something serious happens to you that requires you to be hospitalized for an extended period of time. For the sake of the argument, let's say your family is uber religious and doesn't agree with your "choice" of a lifestyle. In most cases here in the states, your family can block your boyfriend or partner from seeing you in the hospital...and that's just not right.
  10. ^Two gay guys who don't think GLBT folk should be allowed to marry?? Sure that might be your personal preference but that's not a reason for those of us who believe in monogamous relationships and having an eternal partner. I never thought I'd ever want to get married to a guy in my late teens. I was too "busy". I've had more ass than a public toilet seat and I am very grateful every day that I'm not poz as a result. I've grown out of my "playful" days and have been more relationship oriented for several years. In my 20's I got involved with community organizations and have met some incredibly awesome couples over the years and I hope, at least for them, that marriage will be legalized across the board. DC is one step closer to legalizing gay marriage and I applaud their efforts.
  11. What hurts even more is that it costs $14 for a single ride. You can ride the Dania Beach Hurricane all day for less than that amount.
  12. Re: no girlfriend yet... Might have something to do with those way too tight pants you're wearing.
  13. ^I love the Grizzly at KD. It's my second favorite coaster in the park behind Volcano. The dip down into the tunnel and the tunnel itself really make that ride a great ride. Grizzly KD happened to be my first adult sized coaster when I was 8 and I wouldn't ride another coaster of that size until I was a teenager. I feel it's one of those under-appreciated woodies.
  14. ^People actually sit up front on wooden coasters? The back is where it's at! (yes, I know not to end a sentence with a preposition)
  15. ^Did TOGO make any coasters that weren't painful?? From the one's that I've been on (Shockwave, King Kobra, Viper at SFGAdv, and Manhattan Express) they all have been pretty painful rides...
  16. Good lord! What is with all the hatred of Shockwave on this thread?! How many stand ups give ejector air?? This one does! It may hand out a jolt or two as well but nothing horrible IMO. There are much worse out there...like Mantis What exactly is there to like about Shockwave at KD? The restraints are hard to get into unless you weigh less than 120 pounds, the climb to the top of the lift is painfully slow, the loop is the best part of the ride and that's not saying much, after the loop as you enter the helix if your knees arent already beaten to hell they quickly become beaten to hell, as you go over the bunny hops the little airtime you get is enough to smash a dude's sack into oblivion, and Shockwave has the ugliest color scheme of any coaster on the planet... Please tell me you're joking.
  17. Maybe TPR could start a personals page...
  18. I haven't watched a full Real World season since Seattle but since this season is DC, I'm going to watch. I have spent some time with Dan from the Miami cast while living in Fort Lauderdale. A friend of mine had relations with him and we all use to hang out together. Now that I no longer live there, I enjoy getting "Dan" stories whenever something come up. He's not normal. I can only tolerate him after he's down a few drinks. And he is just as big of a douchebag in person as he was on the show.
  19. Hurler is just too damn rough and not in a fun way. The train shuffles from side to side all the way through the course after the first drop. I don't understand why a park that has two decent adult woodies in Rebel Yell and Grizzly doesn't give Hurler the same TLC. Neither RY or Grizzly have this issue and both of those coasters have more than a decade of service than Hurler. A lot of people have seen a difference with Wildcat since HersheyPark switched from the PTCs to the Millennium Flyers. Granted Hurler isn't a GCII product, I have to wonder if new non-PTC trains would make a significant differnce for Hurler?
  20. I don't get how if the Ravens win on Sunday they are in the playoffs yet if the season ended today, they wouldn't be going to the playoffs despite beating the Bronocs who are seeded as a Wild Card team with the same exact record. Anyone know why that is?
  21. It was a joke...
  22. What about when a wave pool replaces a perfectly good rapids ride (ie HersheyPark)?
  23. Single? LOL Do you know how hard it is to find a good man that loves coasters?
  24. Thank you Title Fairy!
  25. - Favorite new coaster- The Voyage - Favorite new ride - Zamperla's Energy Storm - Favorite new park - Although it debuted in 1999, IOA would be my favorite new park. My first trip was in 2000. - Most memorable park moment- First Phoenix Phall Phunfest 2000. - Most memorable coaster moment- Filming Discovery Channel's "The Making of a Coaster" on Lightning Racer at HersheyPark. - Best ERT session- Beast, at night, no skids... - Least favorite coaster- Riding Predator at DL, 2003 - Least favorite ride- Drop Zone, KD, not a fan of heights! - Least favorite park- what? - Most interesting ride you've seen introduced- The stand up drop tower ride at SFOG - Least interesting ride you've seen intoduced- That new Unicoaster that Chance is bringing out - Your favorite TPR moment- Reading many photo TRs while working over night. - The decade's biggest flop- The way Cedar Fair handled the closing of Geauga Lake - The decade's biggest success- Holiday World adding Legend, Thanksgiving area, The Voyage, Pilgrim's Plunge, free soft drinks, free parking, free inner tubes, free sun tan lotion. Overall, I'd say they were ahead of the curve by focusing on affordable family fun before it became the trend in the industry the latter half of the decade. - The best meal you've had at a park - Knoebel's - cheap good food. - The worst meal you've had at a park - King's Dominion Country Kitchen- got severe case of food poisioning after eating there. - Best park turnaround- I don't know if it would be the absolute best turnaround of the decade as the turn around isn't complete, but I have to give my nod to Six Flags America. They've greatly improved the overal operation with the guest's enjoyment and satisfaction as one of their top priorities. - Worst park turnaround- Six Flags Great Adventure for the removal of most of the 1999 War on Lines flat rides pacakge. The additions of Kingda Ka and El Toro were great but there really isn't anything else to do at Great Adventure other than just coasters. Honorable Mention: Mismanagement and development of Hard Rock Park/Freestyle Music Park - What was the biggest trend of this past decade- Buying and selling of parks through out the industry. We saw a lot of movement from Premier Parks to Six Flags around the turn of the millennium, Geauga Lake changed hands to Cedar Fair, Cedar Fair's acquisition of the Paramount Parks, and lately the InBev/BEC transacation and the stuff going on with Universal. Parks have been bought and sold like people were playing a game of Monopoly.
