Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread

^Big B&M coaster, would have gone out to the campground and come back. One circle of the campground would have been removed along with part of the parking lot, which is a big reason why they scrapped it. From what I understand, it would have been another Intimidator-themed coaster (and possibly a giga, although that much I can't confirm). -

^Actually, that really was a coaster that was planned for the future, but it was scrapped. (No, really, it was) -

^Go here and read the park guide. -
I have a very strong feeling that the actual clearance is deceiving. The angle of the pictures probably makes it look smaller than it is, but to me it looks like there's at least 5-6 feet of clearance between the track and the crossbeam. That means that you'd need 5 foot arms to hit your hands, which would make you 10 feet tall. I don't think clearance would be an issue and if it is, take the crossbeam out. Regardless, it is still the headchopper of all headchoppers. I think you're forgetting that you will be sitting in a train on top of those tracks.

^I drove by yesterday, as well, wondered what the giant, latticed metal pieces were laying in the field. I was expecting an A-frame Skycoaster, not an old lattice arch one. Hell, I didn't even think they made lattice arch Skycoasters anymore, the A-frame ones just take up so much less space. I'm guessing this might be a one-sided Skycoaster, as opposed to the typical two-sided ones.

I got 18/30 with some guesses and some dumb misses. -
Last night, I was thinking to myself, "Wow, nobody has complained about this ride yet," because THERE ISN'T ANYTHING TO COMPLAIN ABOUT. IT'S A F@%#ING BARREL ROLL ON A WOODEN COASTER. GOOD GOD. If this doesn't excite you, then perhaps you should turn in your enthusiast card. This is what we call GOOD progress in coaster engineering. You should want to see stuff like this popping up, especially if it turns out great. If things stayed "the way they've always been," then we would still be sliding down ice slides in Russia. Good grief.

^^Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on how you look at it), I've never been to Mt. Olympus. Maybe next year, though. -

I like Voyage and 305 better, but Skyrush is still my #3 steel coaster out of almost 300. 305 is #2 on my steel list, and Voyage is somewhere in the stratosphere as #1 overall. Skyrush could be a little bit longer, and that's my only real criticism of the ride. The airtime was something I've never experienced before, not on Voyage, Boulder Dash, El Toro, Bizarro, Magnum, anything. -

^Voyage's transitions are nowhere near as extreme or fast as 305's. Not even close. -

I'm sorry for not back reading, but what exactly do you not like about the ride? -

I just want UF to do me a huge favor and win more than 8 games this year. There's a chance I might make it out to their game against TAMU, so that would be awesome. But if the Gators only win 3 games this year, just let them be against UT, UGA, and FSU. -
Best View From A Lift Hill

Millennium and Magnum are first by a mile. MF's is good anytime, and the view from Magnum's lift hill on a clear night is something everyone should get to see. -

One train operation is no less efficient than two train operation at this point. -
I've been there a couple times this year, the clientele is FAR from "cute girls in bikinis." However, it's a beautiful water park and despite it being VERY crowded one of the days I went, waits usually aren't that bad. Lots of fun slides, too, although I wish they had a little more to do there. I can go there and do everything I want to do in an hour or two and be done (kinda like SWO).

^OSHA wouldn't really regulate coaster trains, since it pertains more to guest-related safety rather than employee safety. Granted, employees do test rides, but the point remains, OSHA doesn't handle things like roller coaster trains.
