  1. Mary Mother of Jesus, quit with the fu*king idiotic name speculation! Holy fu*kballs! Every time some jackass on TPR suggests a "hawk" name for this ride, a baby in Indonesia is eaten by a band of cannibalistic midgets. So for the babies' sake, knock it the fu*k off!
  2. I've had theme park days that were a pain in the ass, but this takes the cake!
  3. This thread is approaching the quality (or lack thereof) of the KD thread, and it's already giving me headaches just as quickly as that thread does.
  4. GCI's answer to Wooden Warrior, I approve.
  5. Here's the skinny on Magnum. The bars on the side of the drop were in fact originally there to hold a stair case. At some point during the construction (or after), they decided not to put the stair case there. The re-profile of the 3rd hill happened after the first season of operation. As you can see in the original video, there were no trims anywhere early on. Early during its first season, they put trims on top of the 3rd hill, because as you can hear, the upward force at that point in the ride was pretty intense (the trains also had upstop "pads" instead of wheels the first season, as well, just like Gemini). After the first season, they raised the 3rd hill something like 15 or 20 feet, and you can actually still see the old "ties" that used to hold the track on the 3rd hill today. They also re-profiled the entrance into the pretzel and put the trims there instead of the top of the 3rd hill. And the upstop pads were replaced with upstop wheels. I can't even begin to fathom what the airtime had to be like on the 3rd hill without trims and before they re-profiled it, because it's a pretty extreme moment of airtime now.
  6. ^DT's demise has been rumored for about 8 years now. It was never a matter of "if," but "when."
  7. Let's call this thread "Dead Horse Beaten to a Bloody and Unrecognizable Lump of Flesh and Hair."
  8. Management at KD has said in the past that Shockwave will be there for quite some time. It's a low-cost, low-maintenance ride, and still inexplicably gets decent ridership. Not to mention the fact that it takes up a really small footprint in the park.
  9. ^I Googled "nunya" and that's what came up.
  10. ^No, it's not a fake clue, and it didn't come from the marketing department. And the receiver of a package through the mail has no control over what's on the packing slip.
  11. ^Who said I took the picture? And I just said it was delivered to CP yesterday.
  12. ^Nope, that was delivered to CP yesterday, and it has the WI code that all the other B&M wing riders have had. And Intamin hasn't built a coaster with "B&M style" track in...........two decades?
  13. Do you think this might confirm the fact that it's B&M?
  14. When was the last time a new coaster at CP got a generic name?
  15. Really looks like the Banshee name is returning.
  16. ^I think the combination of low ridership and high maintenance costs did it in. Plus the air conditioning didn't work.
  17. Is there anything you DON'T complain about?
  18. I don't think it's going to be traveling that fast through that element.
  19. ^Wait! For myself! Well that just came out wrong.
  20. I'll go ahead right now and say that I thought SOB was going to revolutionize industry and wooden coaster design. I'm not ashamed to admit it, because had it been done right, it probably would have. Unfortunately, RCCA was the low bidder.
  21. I will say, regarding the roughness the TPR trip experienced (I was not on the trip), it's entirely possible for a B&M to have some rattle its opening year. Both Diamondback and Intimidator had rattling going on at various points their first year. Intimidator would just randomly have days where you would catch a bad wheel and have a bumpy ride. Other days it would be glass smooth. Unfortunately, TPR seems to have hit Oz'Iris on a bad day.
