Hersheypark (HP) Discussion Thread

Skyrush was simply amazing, airtime galore all over the course. I'll get more into detail later, but it's definitely a top 5 coaster in the U.S. -

So 5 of the 12 coasters in this park are currently not operating, did Six Flags take over this park without anyone noticing? -

The ride is spectacular, but the people in charge of efficiency should be fired. I just saw a train go by with nine empty seats. -

In line right now, and they're averaging one train every four minutes with empty seats on every train, which sadly is exactly what I've come to expect from Hershey lately. -

A few thoughts after spending the last few hours of the day at the park today. 1. Skyrush looks REALLY impressive in person. 2. Storm Runner is still a killer ride. 3. Hershey's operations, which used to be decent, have declined sharply the last few years, especially at Storm Runner. All that said, can't wait to ride Skyrush tomorrow! -

Even with the price increase, it's still cheaper than a Gold Flash Pass for one person at a SF park, which is $80-ish. And I still paid the $80 last year when I went to SFGAd for the Green Lantern pass preview days. The value for these things far exceeds the cost. -

Sorry for the double post, but this is bump worthy. I asked HP on their Facebook page about the max height, and they responded by saying the max height is in fact 6'5". So whoever the dude was on the last page with one post, he's wrong. -

^^Wait, I thought it was 6'5"? Edit: So where is this info about the max height coming from? It's not listed on the website, and I just called guest relations about it, to which hey replied that what is on the website is the accurate info. They said as long as your torso isn't too tall to fit properly, you can ride. Now it was just a guest relations person and not anyone with operations, so I don't know if that is entirely accurate or not, so take it for what t's worth. -

The Weather Channel's website says high of 86, 40% chance of thunderstorms for Saturday. So basically a typical summer day. -

I immediately regret it every time that cable starts pulling the train up the first hill. I should be getting a new Boomerang in Ocean City this Friday. After that, I only have four left in the U.S. -

Jen and I are taking advantage of the deal where you can visit the park the last couple hours the night before with a single day ticket. We'll show up late Friday night, ride everything we want to ride with (hopefully) short waits, then we can devote whatever time we have Saturday to Skyrush.
