Well this one isn't a rumor, although I have no idea if it's going to be wood or steel.

Yes, there are trim brackets on the straight stretch right before the final turn. I believe there are a couple other ones elsewhere, but I'm not remembering where they are right now. Someone else should know. And every Intamin coaster over 200 (except for MF) has trims somewhere on the course. Every B&M hyper also has trims (and were designed with the trims in mind). It's because designing a roller coaster doesn't happen in a vacuum, and they are prepared for unexpected results during testing.

That's already been answered. They knew that there would be a possibility for trims to be added (hence the brackets), did the necessary testing for the ride for the last several weeks (as always), found out that they do in fact need trims because it's running a little faster than anticipated, and added them. As I said before, the testing process worked EXACTLY like it was supposed to. So I still don't see what the issue is. You can point at rides like Fahrenheit and Millennium Force, which have pre-built brackets for trims, as prime examples of testing working in the other direction. They thought they might need trims, tested them, found out they didn't, so everything was hunkee doree. Roller coaster building is not linear. Just because one ride turned out one way doesn't mean every other ride after that will be the exact same way. Every single ride has its own set of challenges during construction and testing. The fact that so-called enthusiasts can't grasp that concept is beyond me.

^Count me in on the Disaster Transport love. I hated it the first time I rode it, but definitely learned to appreciate its quirkiness the more I rode it. Unfortunately, I won't be able to get up there this year before they tear it out, but I'm sure whatever they're putting in will be a nice addition for the park. I'm going to give a preemptive cringe for the fanboys who will be crying about the coaster count still only being 16, though.

^Wow, skipped right over that post, just thought it was yet another construction update. Edit: To add on, if the brackets were there from the beginning, then that shows that they were anticipating the use of trims. So all the bitching and moaning about adding them after testing can stop right now. I think this just goes to show that, like 305, the testing did its job and they got the data they needed, so they are making necessary adjustments. So I guess Intamin does know what they are doing, after all.

You need to find the thinnest flip flops out there! Like those cheap, disposable, paper thin, foam things. The ones that come in like a sheet, and you "snap" them together. Well I imagine that if I am riding barefoot, they have to measure me barefoot, and there is zero chance that I am taller than 6'5" barefoot.

I'm 6'5" with shoes on, but I will be wearing flip flops and riding barefoot, so I should be ok.

Something that's getting forgotten is that CP started repainting MF last offseason and that it's going to be a three-year project. The return hill from the island was one of the places that was already painted last season. So it should be finished by this time next year.

I agree with you on that one, but only because the actual "monster" in Loch Ness was named Nessie.

^^I just get annoyed by nicknames for coasters, i.e. "Maggie" for Magnum (although Robb's satirical use of them in the CP report was full of win). Call me a snob, I won't mind. ^Exactly! Robb and I talked about that not long before he went up there, it's awful!

I'd like to petition the moderators for a new word filter. With Verbolten being close to opening, can we make sure the term "V-Bolt" is never used to describe this coaster? It just makes my head hurt, and it's an idiotic nickname. And if anyone refers to it as "Boltie," the permaban should be dropped on them.
