  1. I've been waiting wayyyy too long for this episode. I heard the first 5 minutes will blow our minds, so I hope that's true. At least we've got 7 or 8 straight weeks of new episodes.
  2. I knew this was coming, but it still sucks. I'll be there in just over 2 weeks; I was so close. I wonder if any of those could end up at Mousesurplus, or do they strictly deal with Disney stuff?
  3. Wow, that looks like so much fun, almost like a mardi gras.
  4. Nice report so far. I'm looking forward to going to the food and wine festival for the first time next month.
  5. Hotels were back pretty quickly, but mostly so they could house a lot of the workers from the Shaw group who were doing a lot of the rebuilding work down here. Various workers and police officers were put up in most of the hotels until a few months ago. Now, most of the hotels are open for normal business. The streetcars are running again, and bus transportation is picking up, although most of its customers were those who still have not come back. Many of the restaurants are open again, although there are still a few that haven't opened yet, but mostly due to staffing issues. The hardest hit areas in the east are still in really bad shape, but the downtown and uptown areas are doing well, as well as the suburbs to the west.
  6. The money that was spent for the dome was specifically for the dome. A portion came from FEMA, a portion came from the NFL, and a portion came from insurance. Yes, the dome will host football games, but conventions are the biggest tourist draw for the city, and getting the dome back should help bring back all the tourists associated with the conventions. Since tourism is the main source of revenue for the city, it's imperative that we have the facilities ready to hold such events and bring the cash back to the city. Yes, there are still many problem areas that need to be fixed, but they're so large that it will take much more time to do so. After the past year of doom and gloom, the city needed something positive, and having the Saints back provided that spark and excitement, even if it's only for a few hours. As for the game being fixed, that is the most ridiculous statement I've ever heard. First of all, there is no way the NFL would do something like that, as it would cast such a dark cloud over the sport. Despite what it would mean to the city to get a win, the NFL wouldn't dare do something like that, as it could ruin the entire league. The Falcons just happened to be the sacrificial lamb. There aren't many, if any, teams that would have beat the Saints monday, not with all that built-up emotion. It didn't help that the Falcons came out incredibly flat, but come on, give the Saints a little credit. And when you've got a black and gold Optimus Prime in attendance, there's no way your team can lose.
  7. Best game meaning the best game I've ever been to.
  8. Nice trip report. I really need to see more of World Showcase the next time I'm there.
  9. Well, the day finally arrived, Monday September 25th, the return of the Saints to New Orleans. It's now the best sporting event I've ever been to. I've been a Saints fan all my life, and have had season tickets for the past 4 years. With all that this city has been through, getting back inside that dome allowed us to all forget about all the problems, even if only for a few hours. The entire day was just electric, it was cool and breezy and a great day for football. I tailgated for awhile, then went inside at 5. It was just an amazing game from the getgo. Green Day and U2 were great, and the quick touchdown set the tone for the rest of the game. They played inspired and dominated all game long. It was just an unbeleivable day, and I'm glad I got to experience it. I also saw the best costume ever, it'll be in the pics below. Ok, enough ranting, onto the pics. Hope you enjoy. And finally, hanks to the west coast for Reggie Bush. Hope you enjoyed the report. Best game ever! Saints win! Saints win! Touchdoooowwwwnn Saints! The dome is sold out for the entire year Here they come!! Another of Green Day and U2. They collaberated on a song just for this event. Green Day and U2 It's been a while, but I'm finally back in my seat. from the backside Best. Costume. Ever. Getting closer TPR Exclusive, Superdome through the posts!
  10. I really like the new song. He spits it really fast in the 2 verses. I haven't heard anything else yet, but I'll get the CD next week.
  11. Thanks for that link; I think I'll end up watching all of these.
  12. I gotta go with BGT also. As much as I like IOA, the 3 at Busch are just so much better. Kumba was my first B&M, and is still my #1.
  13. I just got season 2 last night. I've already gone through the first disk, and gonna watch some more today. I can't wait till the new season. Not too much longer now.
  14. Thank you Beemer Boy, for shedding more light on the weak Pac-10. Only one team, USC, would have a chance to beat the top 5 or 6 SEC teams. Hell, the 5th best SEC team (Ten) just killed the 2nd best Pac-10 team in Cal.
  15. I think it looks pretty neat. Sure, it's no record-breaker, but CP has enough of those. Two launches, airtime and inversions, that's enough for me.
  16. Oh well...at least neither the PAC-10 or the SEC are as weak as the Big East or the ACC (Where a team that was 8-5 last year is the defending champion). You said that right. I'm gonna bite my tongue on the SEC, it will only end in a flaming war, and I've already had enough of that. Wonder what Erik has to say about the SEC.
  17. Great update. That "Dark Ride" looks like it could have been the Chamber of Farts.
  18. done and done. Notre Dame is the most overrated team in the country. They're not that good, they don't play a killer schedule, and they get all this media hype b.s. Stick them in the SEC and watch them lose 3 games. They don't deserve s---. The same goes for Cal, who got smashed by Tennessee, and the rest of the Pac 10. I'll leave the Pac-10 at that because Joey and I have had enough of that argument over at Westcoaster, but Notre Dame doesn't deserve to be in the top 10. They're 0-8 in their last 8 bowl games for crying out loud. It's just a complete joke. College rankings shouldn't come out until October, once we get an idea of how good or bad teams actually are.
  19. I don't get what all the uproar is about. It's not racist, it's just something they did to try to grab ratings. The show is still pretty steady, but not what it once was. I dont' think there's any racism behind it, just an idea to get more ratings and publicity.
  20. I can't believe the crowds were so light, considering the holiday. I'm still waiting on Ohana, but only another month. And I did try the Beverly last time, wow was it bad. Even though I knew it was gonna be bad, I still wasn't prepared for the taste.
  21. That really sucks. I loved his shows, but my favorite was when he appeared on Conan and he and Conan wrestled a rubber alligator. R.I.P. Steve, time to tame the creatures in the sky.
  22. This is from comingsoon.net: Transformers screenwriters Bob Orci and Alex Kurtzman revealed all the robots that will appear in the anticipated film today in a webcast on Yahoo! Movies. The Transformers that will be in the film include: Autobots: Optimus Prime Bumblebee Jazz Ratchet Ironhide Decepticons: Megatron Starscream Brawl Bonecrusher Barricade Scorponok Frenzy Blackout Now I know it may be difficult to have most of the robots in the movie, but no Soundwave??!! He's one that should have been included at all costs.
  23. Longest I've waited was probably 20 minutes, but I never go during the really busy season.
  24. NES Sega Genesis Game Gear N64 Playstation Playstation 2 XBox Gamecube
  25. Absolutely unbelievable. Lion King deserves something big like this.
