Skipping TDL because you've done two other similar parks that don't compare to TDL? Where's the problem with doing TDL? From everything I've heard, it is simply THE best of the "Magic Kingdoms".

"The largest indoor amusement park in the world"
coaster1 replied to map2's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
It was a carnival ran by Murphy Bros. who have to say the least, very few rides .. I guess this is one of the only large gigs they can get anymore, but then again, this indoor park was a complete failure, so doubt that'll return. -

you'll need all of 6 mins at GL to get the credits ... but Big Dipper is worth a few re-rides ... other than that .. at CP: Maxair, wicked twister, maggie, blue streak, raptor and gemini are about all I find entertaining. *Now I wait to get flamed by some CP Fanboy* -
Parks Coasters and Rides in Movies and TV

Viper (SFMM) - True Romance, Encino Man, Space Cowboys "Rollercoaster" - a few (Revolution, Thunder Road, Ocean View Park) "Spy Kids 2" - Titan, Batman The Ride (SFOT) "Richie Rich" - Iron Wolf (SFGAm) "National Lapoons Vacation" - Revolution, Colossus (SFMM) West Coaster (Pacific Park) - In alot of TV shows and films and lots more .. but I'm tired. -
SFOT's Flash Pass is the old Lo-Q system (same as SFGAdv, SFNE, SFStL, SFOG) .. most other parks use the old coupon style, or SFEG's with the cool little lanyard pass. Gold was only offered by select people .. we got tired of having to deal with system shutdowns and the whole POS network dropping .. so us at Corporate shut it down pretty quick ... since it was the same year as the new POS system was put into effect .. two new independant systems interworking together ... bad idea.
-
Technically the park did offer Gold in 2002 when the system was put into place, it was the test market as well as SFOG, but problems with the Q-Bot system and tax tables threw off the system, and we dropped it until 2003 at other parks after we got the POS/Q-Bot system integrated. The waits are supposed to be the same as the queue, they offer no "faster" access to the lines, that is how the system was originally desgined. You could queue for the ride and go do other things like other rides, shops, eat, shows and you would be paged when your ride time was approaching. The lines were reduced by about 10mins, due to the merge point, but no one at SFOT actually ever programmed the ride times correctly. If Titan was posting a 2 hour wait, Q-Bot users would wait around 20mins or so .. this was due to the poor management ran by Lo-Q USA, not alot has changed either, still not being used properly. Plus the "Gold" technology is just an extra check box for the people working the registers.
-
^ SFOT HAS both, but they only offer the normal Gold reduces the wait times by 60% techincally, but with the staff, most wait times are never correct, although this may have improved now that SF took over the system instead of outsourcing.
-
For SFOT: 1) $20 for first user, $10 for every user after up to 6 people 2) When you first rent it 3) At the Flash Pass office to the left inside the main gate 4) La Vibora, Titan, Texas Giant, Sponge Bob, Superman, Batman, Mr Freeze, Roaring Rapids, Splash Water Falls, Runaway Mountain 5) They have about 600 Q-Bots ... unless its super busy

^^ SFEG is actually very nice landscaped wise and clean .. not alot of trees, just horrible rides and bad operations spoil it. I did like the park however, though it was cute. -

OK so now to finally finish this ... SO after Colorado .. had to drive back to Albuquerque, then El Pasi .. err.. El Paso ... which is .. nevermind. Stopped at the Air Force Academy, where they tried to get me to join, until I told them unless I could bomb people or flying the F16 or F/A-22 .. I wouldn't .. and then they asked why I couldn't .. so the discussion began. Got to see the cool B-52 they have near the North entrance and some parachute training. On the way back, ran through a pretty cool wildfire started bu lighting the day before. After the crappy night's stay in the Albuquerque hotel (horrible) and arguing with the manager who barely spoke a word of english .. head to El Paso to catch my flight home, but not before Credit Whoring at Oasis Lanes and checking out the progress of the new Western Playland .. and yes .. some casinos .... dammit, no free alcohol tho, stupid New Mexico. Photos ! Arg, I'm angry snake ... gimmie some children! Let the credit whoring begin ! Ahh ... bowling alley with rides ... only in EL Mexico .. I mean Paso El Bandito got moved .. yay? Well they got a Miler, appears to be from one of the closed Jeepers! .. maybe Kansas City's Hi, I'm Western Playland, still not open and across from a Casino .. good family fun ah damn Western Playland bought some larson flyers, guess I'll have to come back when it opens oh no, just the massive wildfire we are about to drive through Colorado .. that a tornado on the horizon!? Arg .. the chute .. oh wait it's open bye-bye awesome plane See it killed alot of people ... Stats of the plane behind me mmm B52 goodness -
Both CP and GL were competitors until Cedar Fair bought GL from Six Flags in 2003. Strange move, but hey .. at least it looks better than when SF ran it as "Worlds of Adventure" or "Six Flags Ohio" ... Also used to be part SeaWorld Ohio.

Well don't forget for the first year or two, it didn't run at full capacity and the trains only ran 4 cars per train .. now they run 8 cars. -
^ most parks already have rules against stuff like that, so they reserve the right to remove you for breaking any rule.

Favorite S&S TOWER
coaster1 replied to eskater132's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
It's simply a combo ride, no double-shot program in it as it's too tall. It can do Combo, Turbo Drop or Space Shot depending on the ride switch. Also, double shots have WAY more airtime than combo towers or any other tower (S&S that is). However ... Double Shots rule (Indiana Beach, Magic Springs, Celebration City) Dr. Doom's is great for theming Power Tower's Turbo Drop gets me everytime and ... Big Shot .. thing is insane -

Ok, so we planned to hit Lakeside on Saturday night, but that didn't happen. So on Sunday, we got over there finally, a little later in the afternoon since Lakeside is all about the night. We stopped at the old Elitch Gardens site, which is pretty much all removed of any signs of the old amusement park. The townhomes/apartments around there are nice tho and glad to see some stuff was kept. The old park entrance path, carousel house and theater. I would of like it if the sign was kept at the intersection, but sadly, it wasn't. Lakeside was next, the place rocks. It's a TAD ghetto, but hey what can you do for a park who's admission is $2. The Cyclone is a great confused coasters, doesn't know if it is a Twister or Out & Back ... and you can't forget the Wild Rodent err.. chipmunk. The rest of the park is a blast with the classic rides and not to mention almost the entire O-Plane series of rides. Some points tho, the flyers are run a tad too fast and they have a serious issue with their train .. I though it was going to blow up when we rode it after waiting 60mins for the damn ride. This park at night is amazing, words can't describe it, but I will OWN this park one day .. oh yes, it will be mine. Up next, Air Force Academy, Western Playland and more whoring. Prepare to be scrambled .. like eggs no comment Yeah, this place is magical at night hells yeah ... Niiiice Even more .. woot ! More points ! Cooler sign tho .. take THAT disney ! Sweet .. just like the original Jets at Disneyland SKOOTA ! Well damn, I felt like speeding on boats Neon rocks your face This looked like it was insane retro retro retro Waiting on it to explode Yeah .. I love this place They have a whip .. more points added REDIT mmmmmmmmmmmmmm FLYERS .. shame they ran so fast Ferris Wheels .. totally love the sign The old lost Traver Circle Swing Cool bumper cars building, crappy bumper cars .. why they remove the Lusse's? Nighttime ... Powered credit whoring Yup .. I whored it .. wasn't easy Lakeside, home of retro rides and signs Elissa approved ride Zoomy ... go rodent, go OoOoOoooOOOooo The fat people honored the coaster .. suprised it didn't break or they didn't try to eat it Yup, #350 for me .. good move I think Why it's called Lakeside .. it's on the side of a small lake Welcome to Lakeside Elitch Gardens Players Theater, being rehabbed, she shouldn't of hit the pipe so hard, crack kills Carousel pavilion Old entry walkway Old sign outside the old parking lot
