coaster1 replied to edboxer's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Yay .. guilt trips work. Since I don't get a park .. she said next weekend, so now it looks like SDC, CC and WOF for next weekend .. long drive but worth it! -

At least it gives them another ride they can run in rain, since most bobsleds close at the first hint of moisture. -

It was a very suprising ride, the airtime is simply great .... good start for S&S Arrow newer launched rides. -

Only one I know of with one, Thunderhead has one 70 degree turn which is pretty cool. -
Steel Dragon 2000
coaster1 replied to pgathriller's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
It was built in the US at the Morgan Plant in California then shipped to Japan. Most every manufacturer has their specified plants. Morgan and Arrow (well Tennessee Tornado era) do steel bending and manufacturing inhouse. Arrow used Inter-Mountain Lift for a while, then went back to in-house production for the mice, Tennessee Tornado and X. I believe S&S Arrow now uses Inter-Mountain Lift, but not sure. -
Godzilla remake White Noise White Chicks (yes got dragged to that) Titanic .. the boat sinks! I'm sure theres more that I can't think of right now

SfGam Opening Day 2005- Training Day

Wonder if it's possible that I can ride all 3 Vu's in the same year .. maybe I should start making plans to fly to Chicago. -

Just need a long flat piece of land .. few parks I can think of that have that. But then again, think of the cost to dismantle and ship ... the ride was over $50 million US and is supported more due to earthquake standards. -
What is wrong with Zonga?

Maybe they are doing more mods to the trains? Hell I still haven't ridden it and I used to live 220 miles from it .. then visited SFMW in March .. so yeah, maybe they just need to melt it down and build another kiddie coaster. -
Project Tumble Weed?

I know they are both traditionalist .. hence the stay away from launched rides. But I think they could be working on one since they have developed a flyer. They are known for testing and maturing designs before they sell them. air and S:UF had some issues but nothing compared to what Vekoma had with their flyers and what INTAMIN has had with the launched coasters. Matter of proving the design before selling .. that's why I prefer B&M a bit more over others. -
Huntington Beach and San Diego are two of my fav places on earth .. just need to find a means of income and not working at a food place or gorcery store.

Yeah I've been job looking in SoCal .. so maybe if we get married we will be living out there ... but the job market sucks a fat camel toe anyway. I know Courtney could get a job easy out there being a nurse and all .. but yeah .. I've been looking for a while.

Cool Coaster Names
coaster1 replied to pgathriller's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Vekoma is popular already with parks, cheap and proven designs .. and why in the hell would you want a launched Vekoma flyer like BORG .. unless you just don't like your brain or body ... plus Vekoma already has 2 hydrualic launched coasters under their belt .. the Booster Bike in the Netherlands and the one going into England this year or next. After a few inversions with amy manufacturer .. you'd be pretty loopy and possibly sick. Plus I'd hate to see the forces on a flying coaster that was launched to 120MPH in a short span. -

Yeah I knew about the new S&S Arrow 4D since that was more or less announced at IAAPA this year. I just hope in the time since they they've solved the issues with the other. I bet B&M is working on a 4D designed, I remember reading an article about Port Adventura getting one in 2005 .. well guess that's gone now. INTAMIN has the sudo 4D .. I guess waiting on that or a park to take a chance on another INTAMIN prototype is just down the pipe ... SF? CF? who will take the risk and financial burden first? -
Fact is the park and PTC was found not responsible after the inmvestigation. Therefore, I hope they both sue the hell out of these people after it's thrown out or they are found not liable. Personally if your so concered over the death, why in the HELL would you wait two years to file a charge? Seriously, if I felt something was unsafe and killed a family member of mine, I would file charges ASAP .. this is the problem with America and why things become so damn expensive.

Superman by far is better. Vekoma flyers just plain suck IMHO. The pretzel loop alone is way intense and fun. -

Italian job review

reminds me of the shirt I saw at SFOG this weekend. Had all their coasters on the back and the opening dates ... early time (60s to 80s) they all opened around March or April .. then Deja Vu had 9/2001 and everything else was on time .. scary.
