  1. Oh good god, I LOVE Legend of Zelda (NES)... infact, I've been meaning to re-start a game on the Wii's VC... And OH the nightmare which are Darknuts, especially the "blue" ones... Wizrobes are a terror to me as well!!... but thanks for the reminder!!... Just got Wii Sports Resort and its like an addicts nightmare... so very fun... it seriously has that "just one more try" quality to it... give it a go if you haven't already... Nothing, and I mean NOTHING is cuter that Frisbee Dog!!!... Seriously, just one more try... Oh (*mumbles to self, and out loud to my partner*) I WILL get better at Table Tennis... just you wait... next time it's YOU who will go DOWN... (hmmm there's a joke in there somewhere...)... seriously, this game is AWESOME!!! Still dabbling in The Conduit... and starting a Super Paper Mario session here soon... so many games to play, so little time...
  2. ^^ After posting my last post, I did go and watch some video footage of Afterburn(TopGun) and you are correct in the similar layout to Montu, despite the opposite drop direction... the first 2/3's of the ride were nearly identical infact... nice looking ride overall (still enjoy the overall ambiance of Montu), but again, haven't ridden Afterburn as of yet... but I'm sure I will in my travels
  3. Maybe unfair to compare (or even mention, but I will anyhow), look at Kinda Ka and all its problems right out of the starting gate...
  4. I don't see how you are stirring up trouble... I haven't ridden Afterburn, therefore cannot compare it in my favorite inverts. I HAVE however ridden Montu, and of the inverts I've ridden, deem it as my favorite.. Perhaps I've misunderstood where you are coming from.. to me its a seemingly unfair statement you've made...
  5. I've ridden 4 up to now: Batman The Ride - Great Adventure Montu - Busch Gardens Tampa Dueling Dragons Fire - IOA Dueling Dragons Ice - IOA Will be riding Alpengeist in just over 3 weeks time, so this may change after that ride, but up to now, Montu is my favorite B&M Invert hands down...
  6. It's my nearly true to life Mii from Wii... My avatar just changed from the Kumba sign to my Mii...
  7. Starliner at Cypress Gardens... I've never been to Cypress Gardens, and always said I'd get there some day... well, now the amusement section is completely SBNO, so I won't get the chance... THAT is what procrastination gets you!!!... A coster which received a second chance and I missed it BOTH times!!!...
  8. Just received an email from Universal Orlando passholder benefits titled "Take your music for a ride"... I was all excited thinking that maybe by some small chance it was an invite to a passholder preview... but low and behold it was only a link to the HRRR website which still (as we ALL know) states "Coming Soon"... Good God Universal, why do you do such things to us?!... I'm okay with (well, rather understand...) the delays, but don't tease me with an nonsense e-mail... I copied (sans the pictures) a portion of that e-mail... 9. Going BACK to Busch Gardens Tampa... (I only live just over an hour away)... last week, with my group of work friends, the ride operations were spotty... Gwazi, in a surprise was running AND dueling both sides for once in a seemingly million years (I haven't witnessed that ride dueling in over 5 years)... but that ended quickly and we didn't have a chance to ride while both sides were operating... SheiKra was up and down a few times... Montu was also shut down several time due to difficulties, so we didn't get to ride... Congo River drained just before we were to ride... Kumba was running fine (and I LOVE that coaster)... Scorpion was up and down... so overall, operations wise, very spotty... still had fun despite the 7000 degree temperature... So we hope to have a better time tomorrow... In TWO weeks (8/13) I'm going to Ft Lauderdale and going to ride Dania Beach Hurricane for the first time and I'm pretty excited.. In THREE weeks, I'll be going to Busch Gardens Williamsburg for the first time in nearly 15 years... My partner is VERY excited (his first time to the park) as is the rest of my family... we are going to see off the Big Bad Wolf... very bittersweet but glad we are having the opportunity...
  10. I was very fond of Hercules... but was more than likely that I rode it IN its opening year... never really got to ride it during its most painful years... every other time I went to Dorney the ride was shut down due to weather or other unforseen circumstances... thanks for the video... I enjoyed the virtual ride once again...
  11. Just recently finished "Passage" by Connie Willis.. its a great Sci-Fi "ish" Fiction Novel about near death experiences and what happens to people (rather WHERE DO THEY GO) during them... I really enjoyed it... I've also read "Doomsday Book" also by Connie Willis about time travel and the study and attempt to prevent plagues... I like the 4 books I've read by Connie Willis so far and recommend checking some of her books out... especially the ones mentioned above.. But currently I'm re-reading the "Dark Tower" series by Stephen King, in hopes this time to make it all the way through... the first time I made it to the middle of the 4th book "Wizard and Glass" but found it to drag too much to finish... well now I'm on the 2nd book again "The Drawing of the Three" and slowly chipping away at this series one more time... I'm not thinking I'll make to ALL the way to the end sadly... (I know my reading habits all too well, and get distracted easily when reading...)
  12. Okay... my trip to the DC area the 3rd week of August (to visit family) had me taking a side trip to Hershey... my very sympathetic (and very cool) family has agreed to go to Busch instead... My partner is VERY excited as this is his very first trip to this park... so a big loss in Big Bad Wolf... but a BIG win that I'll get to pay my final respects to her... I just couldn't see myself fully enjoying myself during this time at Hershey, knowing that just an hour travel times extra to the south would have brought me to BBW (and all the other wonderful coasters...) I would have felt overridden with guilt... I can already see myself honestly getting choked and teary eyed up after my last (even next to last ride) on Wolfie... I might even cry in public... (I'll try not to, but really depends on how many beers I've sipped down...) All in all its going to be a very bittersweet visit to the park for us... but I'm really looking forward to it and glad my family was on board with my changes to the itinerary!
  13. I was considering it myself... it would be roughly a 13 hour drive each way... but I only have 3 definite free "weekends" (my days off) before it closes... the other "weekends" I have other trips (one of which takes me to Hershey Park... but I'm considering going to BGE instead...) If you are a coaster nerd and have the extra cash, then I say go for it... you won't regret it... BGE IS a beautiful park... and has some incredible rides (minus one soon...)...
  14. A terrain woodie would completely fit the bill... hmm... if that was so, this could be better than I was thinking... (not good, but I like the thought of a wood coaster through the woods...) but it'll probably still be a flyer like Manta...
  15. You're not alone... I said something similar (not as strongly) to this, about not putting up another clone or big brother from another Busch park... I can only hope something completely original fills this space...
  16. The article says it has reached the end of its "service life", not life... There is no doubting its popularity... seems like perhaps its a maintenance issue and not a popularity issue... I'm sure its getting tougher and tougher to get parts for this ride when it needs it... overall so very sad though...
  17. Personally I'm just hoping BBWs replacement isn't just another clone (or big brother) of another ride with already exists in another Busch park (like SeiKra/Griffon)... I'm not being hateful or anything, but if a Manta clone goes into BGW, it doesn't make me want to visit the park quite as eagerly (which is part of the reason I don't have a great desire to visit other Disney parks... how many Tower of Terrors can you really judge?!)... I'm just hoping that something completely original goes into that space... (I'm sure I'll get some backlash for this...)
  18. I just got a bit of a sick feeling in the pit of my soul after reading this post... we knew there were rumors about this, I'm so sad to see it come true... Big Bad Wolf, you will be missed dearly... I haven't ridden in probably nearly 15 years, but that is only due to the fact that BGW hasn't been in my travels... I might just have to make a journey there to pay my respects... So so sad... thanks for the (official) heads up...
  19. Sorry to be off topic... but MattMattMatt, I MUST tell you that I LOVE your avatar... Bea has always been my favorite Golden Girl... RIP Bea... Miss you... Back to the coster madness...
  20. I've been on 2 so far: 1. Kraken 2. SheiKra... (but even though that is floorless, it is truly labeled as a "Dive Machine"... is it considered a "true" floorless?!... no need to answer really, I'm just over tired and overthinking... time for bed...) Doesn't matter though, because I prefer Kraken to SheiKra anyhow...
  21. I agree with the many that say Hulk at IOA... but I still enjoy it... But my real answer is IOAs other coaster duo... Dueling Dragons... I'm not sure what it is that I don't care for in those coasters... they are cool... awesomely timed (when launched together)... Amazing queue... but overall, they just don't "do it" for me... I was there a couple of weeks ago and rode "Fire"... yeah, it was good, but not AMAZING!!!... and can they please plant some shrubs or grass under that ride?!... I know it is supposed to be a desolate battlefield, but good god the surroundings of that ride are ugly... and no I'm not talking about the Potter construction... the IMMEDIATE landscaping... okay... that is enough of my rant... thanks...
  22. Thurs 7/23... Busch Gardens Tampa with my boyfriend and small army of friends from work... about 10 of us total... looking forward to beautiful weather, amazing coasters, couple of beers... and some great company... it should be tons of fun... If you are in Central Florida that day and are available, come join us a for a beer consuming/coster riding geeky good time...
  23. Okay here are a few of those photos... its NOT much, but its one step closer to the attachment of those r!ngs... from what he saw earlier today, it looks as though they were attaching "spotlight"ish lights to the r!ngs...
  24. [quote name="Mr. Starr No' date=' thank you for news on the r!ngs! Anything about the r!ngs is greatly appreciated! What kind of phone does he have? Someone here might know how to do it.[/quote] He has a "Razor" I think... (flat-ish Motorola flip phone from about two years ago)... but it won't help as he has the phone with him at work. And since he works "OnStage" he has to keep his phone off while working.. When he gets home later on, I'll see if he can help out in getting those photos here... Sorry, I probably should have waited to post my initial message until I had the photos... didn't mean to cause a stir with anybody... (going to bed now as I work graveyard... I'll be back later...)
  25. Okey doke... Just thought a little information from someone who actually works at the park might be a touch of insight... obviously not...
