My partner works at IOA and took a picture from his phone of the assembled (NOT installed) rings... from what I understood, the rings were on sight, but not put together... there were three pieces to each ring... and now the pieces are put together... and the completed rings are sitting in a backstage area waiting to be installed... that was yesterday afternoon he showed me... and me being completely computer illiterate, didn't know how to download those pictures... I will ask him when he gets home tonight to put the pictures here... so he predicts that those rings should very well be put on the lift hill very soon... we can only home... Sorry for the lack of pictures... maybe later...

I'm going to have to go with Gwazi at Busch Gardens Tampa... When it opened 10 years ago, it was such a wonderfully fast and smooth ride... and now in such a relatively short time feels like a 2 minute car crash... I still have some love for it... but damn, are those square wheels on the bottom of those trains?!... The ride really should have received a major rehab for its 10th birthday...

Okay, currently I'm playing: Animal Crossing City Folk (STILL...) The Conduit - Finished the single player campaign on the "easy" setting 3 times now (its pretty short, but oh so fun...) and playing limited online matches (and getting my rear kicked for the most part!!!...) Overlord Dark Legend - about 1 1/2 hours in... my partner finished the game in just over 24 hours (which is unheard of for him...) for a 10 hour game... he just couldn't put it down.. I love the game, but don't quite share HIS enthusiasm... Dragon Quest Swords (Wii) - I've owned this game for over a year now... played half way through and stopped... I've just now picked it back up to try and finish it this time... its pretty fun.. I'm about an hour in... Lastly: Klonoa (Wii-make) - its just amazing... if you have a Wii, please support this little gem of a game... not many games get a second chance... this game was originally overlooked by most on PSone... and got a second chance on Wii... its one of the best platformers ever made... and still make me cry at the end, to this very day... finished it 3 times since its re-release... and still plan on playing it...

Just got home from IOA/UO and as mentioned above, as of Noon, HRRR was NOT running... not even testing... but strange enough, they were selling the attractions shirt in the "Hub" area, where the two parking garages meet up... I thought that was kind of odd... Should have grabbed a picture of it, but my phone takes crappy pictures anyways (so just as well I suppose)...

Happened about 2am, heard the tone-out over the resort radios (I work 3rd shift Front Desk Ops at WDW)... terrible news indeed... too soon to tell anything, as it is all under tight investigation at the moment.. looks like it was a technical error and not human error so far, but we don't know yet... the original news we heard was black and lime trains, but was later corrected to pink and purple.. we only heard speculation which was conflicting info as to where and which station it happened at, either EPCOT or TTC... we didn't find out about the drivers condition until about 5:45am when the story actually hit the local news stations.. It was announced property wide, at roughly 6am, that there will be no monorail service today.. really crappy story indeed...

Having play quite a bit over the past week, I'm loving this game. I've played tons of campaign mode (which clocks in at about 6 hours to complete on easy) and am nearly finished with my 3rd play through. And am enjoying it more with each play through.. Finally got to try out online matches and had a lot of fun with them. That experience differs though depending on the connection. I've experienced some lag, either on my end or others, and it hindered my play to an extent... but a good time over all. I think The Conduit is a damn fine game and a welcome addition to my ever growing Wii line-up...

Most Intense B&M!
Maximo37 replied to Beate's Freak's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I'm going to have to go with Manta (it is SO damn pretty).. That pretzel loop is just truly insane.. First time I rode it, I was a touch light-headed for nearly the hour following.. of course it didn't help that I hadn't slept in nearly 30 hours, had a couple of beers and it was 97 degrees out for my first ride... but love that coaster none-the-less... I've since ridden it 4 more times, with no repercussions... -
"I personally think this looks like a lot of fun! It doesn't appear to be too intense, but I don't think a great coaster has to have extreme G forces or be the highest and fastest. I think something that is fun and different is exactly what Universal needs. David" ^^^^ While I completely 100% agree, I'm just having trouble swallowing the $45 million dollar price tag... I do think the coaster is going to be awesome, but its price was far too expensive...

Dive Machines? What are your thoughts?
Maximo37 replied to downunder's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I'd say mildly intense... more of a mind screw than anything.. dangling there 200 feet up is the scariest part... the drop is a bit intense, but honestly nothing crazy... and it also helps that the coaster is smooth as silk... -
Okay, 30 somewhat posts later and I forgot to introduce myself.. So here it goes.. Name is Bryan. I'm obsessed with videogames (probably to the point of unhealthy... well I supposed that is an exaggeration of sorts...) Originally from Staten Island NY. So my original "home" parks were SFGreat Adventure, Seaside Heights and Action Park (nothing in the world like it!!!!)... Now reside in Central Florida for the past 12 years.. Been creeping around these forums for the past year but only now got around to joining... My partner and I love to go to our local parks and ride some coasters (and drink some beers occasionally). And we both can't wait until we join one of these TPR trips, hopefully in the not too distant future. So that really about wraps it up for me. Love videogames (eh, boardgames too), rollercosters, waterparks and an occasional beer... nothing too fancy or exciting.. Thanks for reading

Mine is named after one of my favorite videogame series from the PS2 era, Maximo:Ghosts to Glory and Maximo vs the Army of Zin... those games were a wonderful tribute to the incredibly difficult Ghost and Goblin series from the Arcade, NES, SNES + Genesis platforms... All great games... And the Maximo games were grossly overlooked in my opinion... and I added the "37" as I just love the numbers 3 and 7... This is also my screen name on the Gamefaqs videogame forum... so I'm a coaster and videogame geek...

3 Wii games yesterday: Overlord Dark Legend $49.99 The Conduit $49.99 Dawn of Discovery $29.99 including tax $140 I have myself a videogame fund (a Royal Caribbean hurricane glass filled w/quarters and random $20 dollar bills which I place in here and there)... so really nothing out of pocket since there was $250 in the videogame glass...

Okay, some of the titles I mentioned last week have to be put on the back burner as I've gotten several new Wii games yesterday... So NOW I'm playing Animal Crossing City Folk (just an obligation as mentioned) Overlord Dark Legend (amazing looking Wii title... better looking than The Conduit and overall amazing title really) (boyfriend is actually playing an is about 6 hours in) The Conduit (4th mission on story mode.. haven't tried online yet) Dawn of Discovery Wii (still on 1st chapter on story mode)

Okay... got the game... played for about 45 minutes on single player (not going to try online until I really know how to play... and have a solid internet connection... mines been spotty...) 3 missions completed. Amazing control. Repetitive enemies. Great looking graphics (for Wii, 'blah, blah'... I think it looks great, but Overlord on Wii actually looks better, as I've gotten both!)... I'm really impressed with the game so far. FPS's aren't my favorite genre of game (my favorite was the original Red Faction on PS2), but I'm really enjoying this. I don't have a "friends code" yet, but will post one later on (more likely tomorrow, as I've worked graveyard last night and haven't slept yet!)...

Whats The Weather Like Where You Live?
Maximo37 replied to RtherBOnACoaster's topic in Random, Random, Random
HOT... Central Florida... High of 97, with heat advisory of near 105... HUMID... 50% chance (usually 100% at some point) of thunderstorms in the afternoon... (just finished watching weather on the 8's on the weather channel... good stuff...) -
In the background... the soothing sounds of the "Weather on the 8's" local weather music on the weather channel... Love me some weather channel...
-
Dawn of the Dead (Remake)... I freak out everytime a zombie dashes at top speed... awesome... Technically not a horror movie, but a psychological thriller, 12 Monkeys gives me the creeps... The original Nightmare on Elm Street is just a classic to me...

Photo TR - Dania Beach Hurricane
Maximo37 replied to Keasbey Nights's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
Although my boyfriend and I love icecream, we will probably order separate "human" size portions... neither of us are necessarily on the small side... (not huge either...) but we don't really want to get any bigger either... but lunch at Jaxsons (along with a "normal" size portion of icecream) is certainly in the plan now... can't with until August for the Kathy Griffin show... and my many rides on Dania Beach Hurricane... Thanks for all the advice. I'm REALLY looking forward to it!!! -

Also located in Orlando, and have been dying to hit this somewhat, close park up... I moved to FL 12 years ago, and been talking about it ever since... I'll probably make this the year to do so... and now I'm even more excited, partly because of this photo update... great job... super excited to check this park out... Thanks... -
What is the coolest coaster name?
Maximo37 replied to Hilltopper39's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Yeah, I have to say that I really like, no LOVE, some of the Busch coaster names: Kumba Montu Sheikra Gwazi (the name... not necessarily the coaster) Alpengeist Drachen Fire (poor poor fate...) Big Bad Wolf (alright... not the BEST name, but cool enough to list... hope it doesn't leave...) Kraken Manta Other names I smile at: Rolling Thunder Lightnin' Loops Ultra Twister (I just like the name for some reason...) I think I've named enough...
