  1. Sonic Colors (Wii) - Just picked it up as a little after Christmas gift... And what a fantastic game!!!! This is the first time since Sonic 2 on the Genesis where I'm actually enjoying a Sonic title again (never really liked 3 nor Knuckles)... and nevermind the other 3D Sonics... they weren't very good... Sonic Colors ROCKS!!!
  2. It's been hit or miss with the dispatch of the trains... WHEN they have both sides open, sometimes they DO dispatch them together, when other times they just don't seem to care... But I've noticed that even when they DO dispatch them together, (at least recently) Lion somehow get quite a bit ahead of Tiger... Lion will be at the bottom of the first drop by the time Tiger is just going over the peak... so the dueling winds up being minimal at best... ...so hopefully with the Millenium Flyer's in place, not only with they hopefully run them together more consistantly... but hoping that both Lion and Tiger can keep up with each other... Either way, I'm super excited... the Tiger trains look wonderful (wish they had the Gwazi logo on the front, or a Lion head/Tiger head to differenciate... but that is nit-picking...) Cannot wait to ride once this sucker re-opens...
  3. When I was at the park last Wednesday (1/5), we were on Cheetah Chase in the early afternoon. We caught a glimpse of two trucks driving on the park access road (parallel the lift hill of Chase) each with one car of Gwazi Tiger in tow... which made me wonder slightly if this was a removal or just a rehab of the trains... Then with the recent teaser sign that Gwazi is about to introduce a "NEW breed of speed of their own", along with the picture of what appears to be a MF train on the track, my head almost exploded... ...I also was on GCI's website... and under the "Great Projects" tab lists all the coaster which the company has built... I've been on that website many times... and only tonight noticed that both Gwazi and ROAR ("East" at SF America) don't have any trains listed... while ALL the other coasters have their Millenium Flyer (along with the train count for the individual coaster) listed... the last time I visited the website a few months ago, Gwazi and ROAR "East" were then listed having the PTC trains... which also makes me wonder if ROAR is getting a 2011 MF present as well... I'm all too excited... it's ALMOST as if BGT is going to launch "THREE" new coasters in 2011... (Gwazi will be new again in my eyes, if this trick works... I loved the coaster before, but GOOD GOD did it need some love...)
  4. ^^ I've ridden it about a dozen times so far... and for the most part, you pretty much summed up the majority of my rides on HRRR... out of the dozen, about 3 were very good... the rest were exactly as you described... my personal worst was actually in the front seat... while I'm certainly glad Universal built the coaster, its not a favorite of mine...
  5. Lost in Shadow (Wii) - Such a great game... its ambiance reminds me of Ico (PS2)... gameplay and puzzles is a bit like the Wii version of A Boy and His Blob (not the NES version)... the swordplay and platforming reminds me of classic (NES) Castlevania's... the blend of the 3 titles makes for one awesome game!... I had a tough time tracking down a copy of the game in Tampa and Orlando... but glad I was persitent... it was well worth it... Udraw Studio (Wii) - I'm having a good time with this little art program for the Wii... I was really hoping for a Mario Paint-ish (SNES) style game... and although this is quite a bit different, its still very well done (once you get used to it...)... I'm a terrible artist... but loved Mario Paint and am enjoying this too...
  6. An extra shift at the hotel Not opening gifts until next week, when my partner and I have some time off together... Merry Christmas everyone
  7. I made the trek to BGW in BBW's final summer. I just happen to be going to Washington DC anyways to visit family. We (I) changed our plans of going to Hershey Park to BGW JUST to ride BBW one last time. It was always a favorite of mine growing up. So it holds a lot of nostalgia with me. My partner, who has never been to BGW ever, only thought it was okay (loved the park overall though). While he was glad to have ridden it, there was much he thought could have been better. He felt the ride was "broken up" too much. The complete stop before the 2nd lift. The trim on the hill towards the river. Just an odd pacing to him. And he loves his coasters, like the rest of us. It was interesting to see what a newcomer thought of the ride. And it wasn't all that great to him. While I enjoyed it and miss it very much, not everybody shares the same feeling about it. Oh and the rest of my family just got off the ride with a great big headache. I miss BBW dearly. But have to wonder if it is more due to childhood memories rather than it being an amazing coaster overall...
  8. 1. Getting to a "new" park for me... Have never been to Six Flags Great America (nor ever been to Chicago)... went on a cold and rainy (which kept the crowds light for the first half of the day) Saturday in September (I think it was 9/11)... got to ride some great coasters... highlights being Raging Bull, Viper and Wizzer... ummm Giant Drop... American Eagle... Condor... and many more rides... awesome day... 2. Chicago - never been to Chicago... amazing city... very clean... GREAT food... saw Billy Elliot... loved it... can't wait to go back... 3. Busch Gardens Tampa - Finally anouncing their "long rumored" new coaster... and getting to watch its progress (and continues too) is great... Can't wait until Spring (I'm guessing May... like SheiKra and Manta debut...)
  9. ^^^ Awesome... last year, we missed Charo by one day... glad she is back... and she will be there on days which I'm typically off from work... Beer... roller coasters... Charo... FUN!!!... Oh... and Blondie and Joan Jett both would be fun to see as well... too bad I work on Sundays...
  10. ^^That sounds fantastic... Mine was Winter's Bourbon Cask Ale on Tap while walking around Universal's Islands of Adventure a couple of days ago... I was giddy to see it on tap at the "Watering Hole" in Jurassic Park... I can spot that "Snowman" from damn near a mile away... Love it...
  11. Chipping away at Epic Mickey... the camera really is terrible... which is a damn shame... great overall ambiance/music though... very clever ideas... it pokes fun at itself... and its even funny much of the time... But even so, I'm still having trouble loving it... My partner LOVES the game... I'm just trying to get through it... having more fun watching HIM play, than actually playing myself... I hate to think that Disney rushed this game out the door in time for the holiday season... because I think the overall game could have been absolutely EPIC with a couple more months of tweaking... Super Mario All Stars Limited Edition... alright alright... I know this is just the SNES game re-released on disc... but its such a damn good game that I DON"T CARE... Its $30... any Mario fan should pick this game up (if you don't still own the original SNES cartridge, which I do...)
  12. I have Epic Mickey, but have only played it for about 1/2 hour so far... (would have, and wished, to played more... but working major OT this week...) and what I've seen, I like very much... like many of the reviews say, the camera is a little wonky, but I don't think its going to be a game breaker... its the overall ambiance of the title, which will be the big draw here... my only other minor gripe, in the very short time I've played was that the game kept stopping me, to tell me how to play... even if it was something that it already showed me just 2 minutes prior... I know that this game may draw some non-gamers, who may need some more assistance, but I wish it would have given me option to skip the uber "controls tutorial"... there is only so many times it should have to tell me to use "paint/thinner" on objects... I think this game is going to find a pretty big audiance, and I look forward to getting much further into it later on this week...
  13. Just finished Goldeneye 007 (Wii) - Man that last mission was DIFFICULT... what a rush that game was... and speaking of difficult... I continue playing Donkey Kong Country Returns (Wii) - this game is a like a long firm hug from the past... every platform game fan needs to pick this up and support this game... its just SO good... I'm on world 7 currently, which was NO easy feat to reach... (and no, I won't use that built in game support, which was used in New Super Mario Bros Wii and Super Mario Galaxy 2 also... I just need to finish on my own... believe me, I was tempted on several occasions though...) And just purchased Fling Smash (Wii) - well, its ordered anyhow... it was a really good price on Amazon for Black Friday ($29.99 for a gold box sale)... It comes with a Wii Remote Plus (motion plus built in) and I needed a 4th Wii Remote, and figured what the heck... its cheaper than a Wii Remote by itself, and it comes with a quirky looking game... looks like it could be up my alley...
  14. Was watching Goldeneye on Thanksgiving and caught a commercial for this... when I went to record it on the DVR, it turns out my partner already had it recording... he lives, breathes and works dinosaurs (well... that last one is a given as he works, umm.. er.. is a "Doctor", at Jurassic Park at IOA after all...) Can't wait to see it...
  15. Donkey Kong Country Returns (Wii) -- Good God this game is eating me alive with its difficulty... and I'm loving every minute of it... if you enjoyed the SNES Donkey Kong Country games, then this is a MUST buy... Goldeneye 007 (Wii) -- Nearly done with the single player campaign... and finally tried split screen multi player (and it was awesome...) I love this game... and I haven't even attempted online battles yet...
  16. Playing Goldeneye 007 (Wii) - never played the original N64 release... so far, on single player campaign, I'm on the 4th or 5th mission... and damn this game is tough... and that is on the easiest difficulty setting. I have a feeling, I'm trying to rush in and "run and gun" too much... where I probably should be more spy like and invisible... great fun so far... much better than expected!! I'm sure I'll get eaten alive in online multi-player... but I'm not even close to trying that out yet... New Carnival Games (Wii) - I enjoyed the first one (over many beers with friends...) so I figured, what the heck... and its just as fun, if not more-so... it even includes a haunted "dark ride" shooting target game... simple -- sure... cheesy -- absolutely... but OH SO COOL!... Ivy the Kiwi? (Wii) - Such a great game... still playing it, since I got it back in September... very addictive... and beautiful...
  17. GREAT to hear... I wasn't initially interested... but then read the amazing review on IGN (9/10)... and now you are highly suggesting it... I shamefully never played the original (I skipped out on the N64... went from SNES to a PSone...)... So nice to hear that this re-imagining of the ever-so popular N64 classic turned out so well... hmmm... just might be on my radar... thanks for the info... looks like I have a new game to pick-up... Oh... and also got Dragons Lair Trilogy... and it is fantastic... a great history lesson in gaming... I love it...
  18. Ybor Gold Amber Lager... drinking it as I type this...
  19. Just Pre-ordered my copy from Amazon... they are giving a $10 bonus credit for a future videogame purchase... and .99 release date delivery (which failed for Metriod Other M... but I got an automatic refund for the shipping at least)... awesome... can't wait to play...
  20. Continuing my Super Paper Mario adventure... about 3/4 of the way through... Kirby's Epic Yarn is still on my playlist... and having tons of fun sewing patchland back together... Just got Just Dance 2 on Wii... good god that game is obnoxious... much more fun that I had imagined it would be... can't wait to break that out for my next get together with friends (and beer... lots of it...)... and this game confirms what I already knew... I have NO rhythm and can't dance to save my life... but it sure is fun to try... Ordered Dragon's Lair Trilogy (Wii) from Amazon... that should be a good retro time...
  21. Montu at BGT on Thursday night, during Howl-O-Scream... the event rocked... the coasters rocked... great night...
  22. Kirby's Epic Yarn... it rocks... AMAZING art style... really fun platforming... sure, its not the most complex nor challenging title, but it sure is fun... good to have Kirby back on a home system again... Geometry Wars:Galaxies... soooo addictive... and I plan to download Final Fantasy Mystic Quest on the VC... I played through that title when it was first released on SNES... and I know it gets some flak for being a dumbed down FF RPG... but I sure had a blast with it... and would like to try it out again...
  23. Halloween Horror Nights XX @ Universal Orlando (only got through 4 houses as it was pretty crowded...) Howl-O-Scream @ Busch Gardens Tampa (going again Thursday 10/21)... and braved Alone which was great... ...and was hoping that Gatorland was doing "GatorHallow" like they did last year... it was awesome... and for only $10... but doesn't seem like they are doing it again... too bad, it was a lot of fun...
  24. True story... true story... I like the pictures, but be careful... I think there may be a rule on this site of posting pictures like that... I could be wrong though... and just for the record, we love Gwazi so much (yeah, despite it being terribly rough) that we named our cat after it ...
  25. ^^^ Hmmm... No, that is not a new sign on Gwazi... its been there for at least the past couple of years, if I'm not mistaken... and while it's cool that you grabbed more pictures of the Cheetah Hunt track... it probably isn't the smartest idea to brag about breaking into this area and then post the pictures of you sitting on top of it...
