  1. Playing "Mystery Case Files: The Malgrave Incident" on Wii... Fun little mystery game... Also just completed "Dead Block" in Co-op mode with my partner on XBLA... much better game than most reviews are saying it is... Just started "Stacking" on XBLA... it was on sale last week, and it got such good reviews... so I thought I'd try it out... so far, its a blast!...
  2. I've always thought the Great Adventure Haunted House fire was one of the worst I've heard of... Then after the Lightnin' Loops accident, my brother and I went to the park and it was practically EMPTY! We were able to catch like 4 rides on Ultra Twister with NO LINE (which was unheard of).... ...I'm sure I could conjour up a few incidents from Action Park as well (but the one which stands out in my mind is the Kayak) *From Wikipedia: A week later, on August 1, a 27-year-old man from Long Island got out of his tipped kayak on the Kayak Experience to right it. He was electrocuted when he stepped on a grate that was either in contact with, or came too close to, a section of wiring for the underwater fans that was exposed. Several other members of his family nearby were also injured. He was taken to a hospital in nearby Warwick, New York where he died later of heart failure from the electric shock.[6][20] The park at first disputed that the electric current caused his death, saying there were no burns on his body, but the coroner responded that burns generally do not occur in a water-based electrocution.[6] The ride was drained and closed for the investigation. Accounts differed as to the extent of the exposed wiring: the park said it was "just a nick," while others said it was more like 8 inches (20 cm). The state's Labor Department found that the fan was properly maintained and installed and cleared the park of wrongdoing; however it also said the current had the possibility to cause bodily harm under certain circumstances.[20] While the park said it was vindicated, it never reopened the ride, saying people would be afraid to go on it afterwards.[6]
  3. ^^^ I have yet to see the (temporary, I'm sure) "single rider" line opened on Cheetah Hunt. I've been to the park 4 times (and ridden an equal amount) since Cheetah Hunt opened. Only once did I see them pulling "single riders" out of the line when you were at the top of the main ramp in the queue (so about 1/2 way thru the entire queue). I didn't take "advantage" of it. When I got off the ride and inquired about it with the greeter (to perhaps sneak another ride), I was told there was none... Oh well... In any event, those who have ridden Cheetah Hunt at night and have stated that it is a completely different experience... MAN, YOU WERE NOT KIDDING!... On Saturday, July 2, my partner and I were at the park to check out Kinetix and the fireworks... however, due to all the storms in the area, we were afraid that Gwazi Park would be a Woodstock like mud pit... so we ultimately passed on seeing either that night... the continued opening and closing of the coasters due to lightning made us weary that that we'd even get on any rides either... but much to our delight, Gwazi re-opened... We rode front seat of Tiger... Millenium Flyer + wet coaster track = an amazing ride... then on to Cheetah Hunt... the sun dropped beneath the horizon... fireworks shot off (we could see much of the display from where we were positioned in the queue building)... then the front seat (first time for us) IN THE DARK!!!... (and bonus lightning in the distance) HOLY COW!!! WHAT AN AMAZING RIDE!!! I loved it during the day... I was simply blown away by it at night... Not sure if the front row had anything to do with it, but the ride seemed to be faster... and the rhino rally canyon was just AMAZING!!! You could only JUST see the water and it seemed difficult to anticipate (even though I the path of the track) those quick slalom like turns... Everything about Cheetah Hunt at night is just better... Great by day... AMAZING by night... Wow... If you get a chance to catch a night ride, by all means, do so!!!
  4. Hmmm... Honestly cannot remember the last concert I went to... However, just purchased tickets to see Erasure on Sept 2nd @ House of Blues (Orlando)... Should be a good time...
  5. Agreed!... Its just such a well rounded coaster... Just rode it for my third time this afternoon... and it was just as amazing as the first time I rode it... Its just an all around treat to ride (and watch!...)
  6. Just placed my order for tickets... *only have to send the check in tomorrow... so far its my partner and I... but have possibly 4 more who are interested... I am SO looking forward to this event... it's our first TPR trip... See you all in September!... *The check is IN the mail!!!... (I've always wanted to say that! )
  7. ^^ Ditto -- My last coaster was also Cheetah Hunt... twice on friday 6/4... and I LOVED IT!!!... Cannot wait to ride again... and again...
  8. Hollywood Rip Ride Rock-IT @ Universal Studios this morning. Tomorrow, heading over to Tampa for my second attempt to ride Cheetah Hunt at BGT (I was there opening day, but had to leave to go to work prior to the ride opening up for the day...)
  9. DONE "Like" from me... I was one of the ones talking about the "Lack of Communication" on Facebook... an while it was frustrating being at the park, I can go back next week and try again... (and I left prior to them handing out free bottles of water... oh, well...)
  10. The opening today, was delayed... to at least "early this afternoon"... I turned around and went home, as I have to work tonight... sad, but will try again next week...
  11. Same here... my co-workers have been dealing with me drool over this coaster ever since ground was broken on the project... Quite frankly, they are tired of it... and now that the time is near to ride it, I can barely contain my excitement... I have to work Friday night... but will be there BRIGHT and EARLY on Friday morning to get a ride in (hopefully a couple of times, depending on the Memorial Day weekend crowd...) however, must sleep before I have to work overnight... even so, Can't wait!!!
  12. I never knew that... I'm going to try that next time I go... I'd gladly donate $5, if a chunk is going to the conservation fund... My "2 year" pass (which I've had for nearly 6 years, as it just keeps auto renewing) keeps fading in my wallet... I'd love to have a firmer plastic version... I'm going to check to see if they still offer this next time I go (or perhaps the time after that, as the opening of Cheetah Hunt will certainly take priority on my next visit)... thanks for the tip...
  13. Holy cow... it was only a few days ago that it looked like a dirt pit!... its looking amazing in such a short time!... we are only ONE week away!!!... can't WAIT!!!...
  14. You can count me in for three: Sea Serpent - Morey's Pier Bat - Canada's Wonderland Sidewinder - Hershey Park
  15. Wow... race ZERO to CHEETAH... that commercial makes me happy!... just a few more weeks... cannot wait!!!...
  16. ^^ Yeah, I can see that... Good point! Since you put it that way, it might change my point of view... I'll go into it with that mindset to see if that helps. Thanks!
  17. ^^ I too am loving Portal 2... I also am about an hour and a half in... maybe 2 hours total, really... but I must have lucked out... my copy from Amazon took 5 days... either way, Portal 2 rocks... I'm not sure I share your feelings about it being funnier... I prefered GLaDOS' dry humor more-so in the first... that isn't to say she isn't entertaining to me, but I found her to be more surprising in the first... I do, however, agree about the degree of difficulty... it has ramped up much quicker in this game, when compared to the original... can't wait to try multiplayer too... either way, Portal 2 is a must have game, just like the first... a "system" seller, if you will...
  18. ^^ Sure is true... its difficult to tell in photos, but that sucker leaps right over the skyride!... and THAT is awesome!!!...
  19. ^^ Holy crap... excellent find... I was contemplating getting Portal 2 (I only JUST got the 360 and have been playing Portal:Still Alive quite a bit... and LOVE IT!) and now this just gave me a boost I needed to buy the 2nd... thanks for the tip...
  20. Absolutely breaks my heart... So glad I got to ride this sucker four times during my visit to "Hollywood" a couple years ago... and what a fun coaster it was... My partner and I were the ONLY ones on the coaster 3 of those 4 times... and the 4th time, it was only a mother and daughter riding along... so it truly is a wonder that it survived as "long" as it did... just wish there was some way it could be saved...
  21. ^^ Holy crap!... That video is amazing... thanks for posting/sharing that... and congrats on putting it together... I have linked it to my Facebook account and plan to get my friends to see it and (hopefully) share it as well... my partner is going to be very excited to see the video (especially since he works for Universal Studios Orlando) and will be very proud that his company put that together... thanks again... it's wonderful!... job well done!...
  22. I will be at BGT about 3 hours from now... if Cheetah Hunt is testing, I will try to get a video (if my camera battery decides to behave...) The video feature was working beautiful for the Zip Line adventure (which was AWESOME!) yesterday at "Forever Florida" (in St.Cloud)... lets see if the battery (its tempermental you see) holds up just as well at BGT...
  23. Awesome to see Cheetah Hunt has been "powered up"... its coming soon! ...and I've watched that baby cheetah video SO many times now... I've been showing it off to all the people I work with and having them fall in love too... its "big" round head is just SO damn adorable... and its "chirping" is too cute... can't wait to see both (coaster and baby) of them "run"...
  24. ^^ NICE -- I got mine during its first run back in December... there were only 3 copies on the shelf at my local Best Buy... Never saw it again... I don't care that it's a "lazy" port of an SNES rom... I love this game... and always will...
