  1. I'm talking about entertainment options, not hotel rooms. They started dynamic show ticket prices a little time after Britney showed up and it REALLY upset a ton of customers. One day a ticket would be $85 and the next morning the same ticket would be listed at $250 for the same performance. Not the same show, the same performance. As in a Wednesday night show would shift prices on the fly, not prices change between a Wednesday show and a Friday show. High Roller has gone from $45 to $10 to $25 to multiple package deals to who the heck knows what anymore. The pricing for the damn wheel even changes depending on what property you purchase a ticket at. They lost a lot of potential revenue because it turned customers away to the multitude of other entertainment options in this city.
  2. Funny. Caesars introduced dynamic pricing and it ended in them declaring bankruptcy because they got too greedy. Universal is owned by Comcast. Not surprised at all by this.
  3. ^ Nope. It died, much like the dreams of Michigan coaster fans everywhere.
  4. ^ Who said anything about closing the ride? Just force guests to experience the haunt before they ride. Hell, make the coaster the escape vehicle or something. Think about it. You enter the Ghostrider mine and end up in a haunted western landscape with ghouls trying to get you. You head towards the barn for safety only to be overrun once inside. Your only escape is to get on the ride and blast through the night to safety. ...only to end up right back in the barn. Edit - I know you Knott's guys read this forum. Make it happen!
  5. Looks like the one that was included is actually a filled lake while the other is still water.
  6. Jesus, man! There are kids that read this forum!
  7. ^ Is it too much to ask for an expanded outdoor queue that could then be turned into an excellent haunt for Scary Farm?
  8. ^ I'm not saying eliminate the greenery. There's plenty of ways to rearrange landscaping to make the park more conducive to traffic flow. If I wanted the pave the park I'd never leave King's Dominion.
  9. More hotels, guys. Or more Potter. They're gonna be chomping at the bit with Fantastic Beasts coming out.
  10. ^ Neither do you. This is all a pointless pissing match. Let's move on.
  11. They could certainly open up the central hub like they did in Orlando. Maybe not to quite the same size but the Disneyland hub is awful. There's a ton of space but 50% of it is fenced off to prevent guests from climbing trees. Tomorrowland should finally rip out the old Peoplemover / Rocket Rods track. The supports take up a ton of space down the main aisle, not to mention how huge the loading platform is in the dead center of Tomorrowland. The Nemo lagoon could be halved and not take away anything from the ride experience aside the the overlong intro prior to the indoor section. The lagoon and waterfall can still exist, just tighten the ride track's initial turnaround and expand the walkway. The bottleneck between the dining area and Matterhorn is pointless. Speaking of Matterhorn, there's way too much "noise" going on in front of it. Just like the central hub there's too much fenced off, useless junk. It's a checkerboard of walkways between the Matterhorn station, food stands, smoking area, monorail supports, Small World, lighting rigs, and gift shops. That could all be improved immensely. That whole back corner of the park, in fact, is horrible. Basically everything from the Fantasyland Stage (Magical Map) to Matterhorn can be opened WAY up rather than having random fenced-off chunks and food stalls. Open it up, push the food stands and gift shops to the sides. Fantasyland is a lost cause. Hopefully with the development of Star Wars land they'll be able to figure out a better flow of traffic, but I'm not gonna hold my breath. Everything behind the castle is tighter than anchovies, the area immediately surrounding the Mad Tea Party in particular. They did a nice job with the Rivers Of America plaza renovation a few years ago. That area and Critter Country are actually pretty decent. The plaza between Haunted Mansion and the DLRR could certainly be opened up a lot more, though. Again with the pointless fences. Adventureland is about as bad as Fantasyland. Unless they move the storefronts back, there's no help. The bottleneck from the Pirates bridge, Tarzan's Treehouse, and the restaurant cause a huge problem. Unless they rip out the treehouse which sits right in the middle of the walkway, there's no help even if they move the store fronts.
  12. ^ and ^^, c'mon, guys, he's a special snowflake who totally got the shaft.
  13. Everyone is focusing on the fact that they certainly could update the park to improve traffic flow. There's no question about that. The thing I think is standing in the way is the legacy. Now, I've no qualms about it, but maybe there's someone high up in the food chain that flat out refuses to change Walt's original park. Yes, it's way, WAY out of date and is having major issues dealing with crowds that are probably ten times anything Walt planned for, but all it takes is one Disney purist with influence to screw the greater good.
  14. Just go a few blocks south. It'll cost you a few extra bucks, though.
  15. Probably not. Regional, seasonal parks rarely intentionally disable a ride unless there's a problem. That's why they do all of their maintenance in the off-season when they're closed, so they can offer the most to their guests while in operation. Parks like Disney, however, never stop, so they schedule downtime and actively advertise it. That being said, GeForce will probably be broken. Like 90% probability on that.
  16. As opposed to the same lap bar design on their standard looper train? The restraint itself is the same, it's just attached to an overhead bar as opposed to a bar connected to the floor.
  17. The sudden, twisting drop of murder underneath the other track on Matterhorn. If you've ridden it, you know what I'm talking about. Katun's low to the ground, high-speed turn after the zero-G roll leading into the cobra roll. Literally any moment of I-305.
  18. ^ Fair enough. Seems Intamin took notes and got it all right with Divertical because that ride is excellent! The pre-lift section is essentially a rapids ride, the coaster portion is a lot of fun, and the splashdown is suuuuuuuper wet.
  19. Rick! They've got you covered, buddy!
  20. ^ What was so bad about Pilgrim's Plunge / Giraffica? I never had a chance to ride but I've been on Divertical and loved it. Pilgrim's Plunge looked to be Divertical without the coaster portion.
  21. I've always been curious for events like this just how often they have to refresh the displays. I know the rooms are held at freezing temperatures but I feel like even then they won't hold they shape and would, at the very least, have to be touched up a bunch.
  22. No, it doesn't flatten out again. There's the flat turnaround prior to the original MCBR, a straight section where it was, then it appeared to rise a teensy bit then the drop.
  23. You mean Giraffica to Divertical. Pulsar is nothing like either of those.
  24. I was at the park yesterday. Had a great time for Merry Farm! Anyways, the midcourse portion of Ghostrider looked like it had an extra little hump prior to "the drop." Can any physics people chime in on how the extra bump may affect that drop? No pictures because I didn't take any.
