  1. Screw the coaster, I see Dragon Bar!
  2. ^ Um, Blue Man Group has been in Nick Studios for close to a decade now.
  3. Bring back the two-park event. I know a few people didn't like it but they're stupid.
  4. You might want to see a doctor about blood pressure and circulation, bud. I'm not knocking you, I'm serious. If you're blacking out that easily after they re-profiled the turn you might have bigger problems.
  5. ^ A few of these side by side? http://www.hussparkattractions.com/en/film-based-rides
  6. Explain yourself immediately. You've gone bonkers.
  7. Clearly the higher ups at Merlin have lost their minds.
  8. [youtu_be]https://youtu.be/cO1q3HwB0y0[/youtu_be] The Disney construction crew is just keeping up appearances with the rest of the country.
  9. I get the strange feeling that this kind of thing won't fly at all in China. The wonderfully open and forgiving Chinese Government would certainly have something to say.
  10. Figured I'd throw up a quick Scary Farm update from my visit earlier this month before I head back tomorrow for round 2 with Skeleton Key - Paranormal Inc. - HOLY. CRAP. Yeah, the hype is real for this one. Definitely Knott's most ambitious haunt yet and full of super awesome stuff! You must do two laps to try both paths as the first half of the maze is split. Some seriously cool effects and great scares in here. Dead Of Winter - I've seen a lot of bad reviews for this haunt but I really enjoyed it! Knott's took a big risk with bright sets but they did a great job! The scares are there, it's cold, there's snow falling from the sky, and there's a super-hot ice queen who wears a low-cut dress. What's not to love?! VooDoo - Definitely improved over last year with it being one long haunt rather than a choose-your-adventure style. It's much longer and has improved scenery, as well as a fantastic new finale that got me way more than I expected. Tooth Fairy - Still the scariest damn haunt at Knott's, but that may be because I was completely alone with actors craving a schmuck to scare. There was nobody in line when I walked up and there was nobody behind me, so the guys inside were just waiting for me and they definitely did their best. This haunt screwed me up plenty last year, complete with me ending up on the floor MULTIPLE times, and this year resulted in more of the same. The finale was changed and is MUCH more effective this year, too! Trick Or Treat - Really cool haunt, really lame scares. Pretty much the same review I gave it last year. Great effects but the sets, for the most part, are too wide-open for any good scares. Brand new finale on this one, too, that seems to be taking a step in the right direction. Rather than going into a big dining hallf with a flying witch, you go into a cramped attic with a pissed-off witch. Forevermore - WAY better than last year! This was my least favorite last year because of lazy talent and crap staff (standing around looking at cell phones, etc). This year they got their crap together, though! Super long haunt with some excellent sets, as well as a scene or two I don't remember from last year. Good scares, good story, lots of fun! Pinnochio Unstrung - Exactly the same as last year. Still good, but I get the feeling this one's going to be retired next year. Gunslinger's Grave - Like my review last year, this is just "meh." The scares are almost non-existent but the sets are cool and there's heavy metal blasting the entire time, so it gets points. Black Magic - Much creepier than what I remember from last year, and the addition of the seance room (was last year's Skeleton Key room) is a huge plus! Hot chicks galore in here, too! Special Ops: Infected - Still awesome! Much longer than last year as they've combined the two tracks into one, but lighter on the objectives, unfortunately. I gotta say I preferred last year's version because of the objectives. It felt like more of a mission than just run and shoot zombies from this year. My Bloody Clementine - Enjoyable trip through the mine with some cool projections and lighting. I counted three actors. Could use some balls in the future. The Hanging - Awesome. 'Nuff said. Elvira's Asylum - This video gives a better review of the show than I ever could - [youtu_be] [/youtu_be] That's all I got! Skeleton Key tomorrow along with Boo-fet early entrance!
  11. ^ They sure didn't bother hiding the giant piles of lumber by the haunts in that corner. It may just be because it's so visible that people are commenting on it. Wandering to go through Trick Or Treat and seeing a 15-foot high pile of wood gets people talking. Did they ever give a specific announcement date or is it still just "November?"
  12. It may just be another way to enforce crowd control. Remember they've always been tweaking the FastPass system to make people honor their return-time slots. In the beginning you could waltz up at any time after the return time indicated. They changed it to a two-hour(?) window and had cast members enforce it. The window was made shorter again as I believe it is now only 15 minutes. The barcode system would eliminate any arguments from guests to CMs. If it's green, go ahead. If it's red, too bad, you missed your window.
  13. ^ It's certainly not High Roller size. It's perched at one of the highest points in the park so it looks bigger than it actually is. I'd put it in the 250-300 foot range. Edit - Apparently I was 44 feet off of my guess. It's been 4 months and there was a lot of Kirin and Sapporo on that trip. Forgive me.
  14. The in-flight pillows had better be Snowgies.
  15. Awesome report, Aaron! I loved Mitsui! It's huge and the selection of attractions is so strange but in the best way. As a side note, that spinning mouse was INSANE! I guess you just got a bad ride on it but Nolan and I almost flew off the friggin track!
  16. ^ Dude, arrow keys. Works fine on my computer. Edit - W, A, S, D work, as well. Just click on the video itself, not the timeline. Click once and it'll pause, click again to make it play, then use your keyboard.
  17. ^ WRONG! I'd be facing Citi Field, sure, but I would be pointing behind me at Yankee Stadium. [youtu_be] [/youtu_be]
  18. Is Disney finally past its phase of buying cheap, mass-market family flats that they then theme to the bejeezus? I'm talking Scuttle's Scooters, the entirety of Bug's Land, Tow Mater, etc. I only ask because I feel like they'd be very interested in buying 10 of these and making them some large spectacle themed to something like Aladdin's carpet or one of Gonzo's inventions.
  19. ^ Prove it. If I were on Rikers Island (probably for willful destruction of property against Citi Field) and facing southeast, what stadium would I be pointing at?
  20. I agree with the "good attractions" remark. Service, however, I'm feeling completely opposite. Granted, my visit was back in 2012 as an add-on for the TPR trip, but it was three days of pure snotty hell. The parks were gorgeous and the rides were fun, but good lord I hated every last employee I interacted with. Not a single one was nice to me. You'd think when one spends $1200+ for three days and two nights at their resort that they'd at the very least pretend to smile. The rest of France was awesome. Paris, Parisians, and every employee at Disney can go on a long walk off a short pier.
  21. That was awesome! Here's hoping this type of thing catches on. I"m sure Robb has already looked into it.
  22. Ew, Great Adventure is siding with the Mets. Who likes the Mets, you ask? People who mess up where The Bronx and Queens are.
