Breakers Express has packages that include park admission and parking. I always stay at BE now, as it's much cheaper then the on-point hotels, and is still very good quality. I'm actually hoping to make the same trip Sept 9th/10th. I find the few weekends after labour day before the halloween stuff starts are the best times to go. Decent weather, no crowds. Can't go wrong with that.

Question about TTD songs.....

I can't remember which songs they play. Though the station music they used to play was Elastica - Ready to Go. -
Best Theme Parks in the UK?
Carnage replied to JulieWent's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Depends on how much credit whoring you want to do. Alton and Blackpool should get the most attention by far. Other then those two parks I found all the rest of the parks in the UK to be mostly credit stops, nothing that I would rush back to. For instance I enjoyed my time at say Flamingoland,Lightwater Valley,Chessginton, etc but I probably wouldn't go out of my way to go running back. -
I didn't even realize you worked for Midway. that's pretty cool. Hey wait a second, you weren't responsible for the bug in NBA Jam for the SNES that flipped the difficulty settings were you? I spent months playing on very easy thinking I sucked, figuring that if very easy was this hard I shouldn't try easy, or perish the though, very hard. Damn you Midway.

How many parks are you going to? Only the one's you've mentioned? If you're doing multiple Six Flags parks you might want to get a season pass to make it cheapest. Same thing with Geaga Lake if you happen to be doing Dorney and Cedar Point as well. Though in this case getting a Dorney pass would work best as you wouldn't have to pay the Cedar Point add on for Geauga LAke.

Night of Thunder 3 Announced!
Carnage replied to cgodsey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
If I decide to go I'll definetly be interested in a carpool Ted. I'll probably think about it over the next few weeks. It's alot of money for me to fly, but then again I did just spend alot on the UK, so what'sa bit more. -
I was in the same situation. It hurt like hell, it even hurt to breathe. I was even borderline having to get sent back into hospital because I was refusing to drink water, etc. Sure they say you can have all the freezees and popsicles you want, they just don't tell you that it will feel like swallowing sandpaper.

Night of Thunder 3 Announced!
Carnage replied to cgodsey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The original NoT was great, and I hope to come back for this one. Though with no vacation time left I won't have the time to drive, and probably shouldn't spend the money to fly. Then again, the Visa and Mastercard fairies are whispering in my ear to book that flight to ATL. -

^^ Because transfer track couldn't possibly be used for the station and train storage. -

^^ Starting early is most likely due to the scope of the construction. The bigger the ride the earlier you need to start. Plus Ohio winters can be brutal, so if you start earlier you won't run into as many weather related delays. -

Sounds like you did a pretty good job translating. I'm guesing "crack of a whip" is whiplash. -
Care to explain how? Adding one water slide does not make the park 10x different. It's still one the crappiest Six Flags parks and has gotten little to no attention in the last few years.

Those two days should have virtually the same crowds. Unless the weather is poor on one of the days.

Or maybe they're just random marketing signs that have nothing to do with the type or ride. -
PCW's Motorcycle Stunt Show

I haven't seen it yet. I've only been to the park before it was open, and once when it was raining. Putting it in the parking lot isn't that bad, at least it didn't take up any park space. -
That's gotta be the most redneck TR I've ever seen! And I love it.

Posted Drayton Manor and our arrival at Blackpool. I'll probably have Southport and Blackpool done sometime this week. Should have some motivationon these as they were pretty fun days. -
SFDL must really blow then. SFA is like the most amazingly craptastic big/corporate park (to be fair, i haven't been in a couple years) We always thought it had this really weird dynamic going on, it's got some really good rides, but no one there is ever having any fun. Populated by gigantic women in wife beaters surronded by 8-12 kids all pulling on her shirt yelling "he hit me, she pinched me, i'm telling, i pooed in the fountain..." I do really enjoy Superman-hurts like a mofo in the rain though. -Fa "my eyes, Ze Goggles! Zey Do NOTHING!" lafel That's why I said not by much. And yes SFDL does blow. At least SFA has a better ride lineup.
-
^ I'm guessing it involves Paris Hilton?
-
They're mirror images. But just like any clone they can ride slightly different.
-
SFA is typically rated as a better park than SFDL(though not by much), so maybe that helps to pull up SFA's S:ROS. Plus the SFA would have more riders I'd imagine. Personally I'd put it at about a draw. I thought SFDL was better for the first 2/3 of the ride, while I thought the final 3 hills on SFA had more airtime.

I'm trying. I find I get stuck on some of the lesser days. Assuming I can force my way through Drayton Manor I'll probably end up getting the next couple done faster. Like I was stuck on Oakwood for awhile, but once it was done I sped right through Alton because I enjoyed it so much more. -
