Plus the chance of me convincing freinds to come along with me would be zero. So I'd be flying cross country to go to a park by myself. That would definetly count as sad and pathetic.

But the flight there would cost me a few hundred dollars. So the cheap admission wouldn't really help at all. I try and keep an eye out for last minute flight deals. If I could find a dirt cheap flight at some random time, then maybe. But otherwise I'm going going anytime soon unless business brings me to Edmonton. Which will never happen as all my business contacts are in Niagara Falls.

It's actually topics like this that make me really annoyed that north america doesn't have cheap airfare like Europe. If we had Europes prices on airfare I would have totally flown to Edmonton and Vancouver by now. But at a few hundred dollars it just doesn't work.

Wow, they're adding some tiles or black covering to the roof. This is exciting action folks. I'm just going to have to take the afternoon off work to watch.

I've never heard any Americans trash Mindbender. Most enthusiasts when asked about Canada will mention Rollercoaster at PNE and Mindbener at WEM as the two rides they'd badly want to ride. Just seems like Schwarzkops (sp?) are dieing breed. They seem to be getting taken out left right and centre world wide.

^ A kiddy coaster and an arrow corkscrew would sure make the $300 flight worth it. Edit: I think I'm being misunderstood. I know theres alot to do at WEM, and it is somewhere I REALLY want to visit sometime. I just mean that it's so out of the way that it makes it a difficult choice over other destination.

That really depends on where you live. Who's going to fly long distance just to ride one good roller coaster in a mall? I'd probably do it if I found a SUPER cheap flight, but otherwise wouldn't. At least MoA is in an area that has other parks to make a trip more worthwhile. The closest park to WEM is probably like 3 days worth of solid driving.

I've heard that before. But it seems like an urban myth. Unless I see some realy proof I still think that reason is BS. No amusemant park is going to buy a multi-million dollar roller coaster, and run it into the ground because they can't read the instruction manual.

^ If by "new structure" you mean that steel girder section after the volcano, that's not new. That's the replica niagara falls they were going to build. It's like 23 years old.

Fanboys are slipping today, or they've all been banned until the announcement. They've put a roof on the building and built another helix. we'll pause as the fanboys get the cleenex out and clean off the monitor.

That was taken from the 1000 foot coaster that was built out in the water while all the fanboys druled over the smaller construction.

Nah, the one I saw wasn't NL. It was one of those air overview pictures with the guessed layout drawn in with red. Basically a connect the dots with the footers type thing. It was a decent educated guess.

I saw one on PB. But I'm not going to dig through all the crap to try and find it.

At least Uranus is still a planet. Tee hee hee.

^ That might be an old statistic. It used to pull 6+ Gs. But that was back when the trains were longer. Mindbender had an accident back in the 90s where the back car came apart and slid sideways into a support collumn killing a couple people. After the accident they re-opened with a train with 1 less car, and it pulls closer to 5 Gs now.

Finally registered the other day. Now I just gotta book a hotel. Only a couple weeks away.

If possible I'd suggest going one of the two weekends after labour day before halloweekends start. The saturday's during haloweekends can sometimes draw capacity crowds, due to warm fall weather, and the halloween stuff. I've been there a couple times where 2 hour waits were standard. It's just not worth the risk to me anymore. Those bonus weekends however you should find the park deserted.
