  1. I'll go ahead with the CCI thing here, if no one minds... 1. Boulder Dash 2. Timber Terror 3. Tremors The rest, in order: Legend, Cyclops, Cornball Express, Great White, Excalibur, Raven, GhostRider, Outlaw, Zeus, Lost Coaster, Boss, Underground, Sky Princess, Pegasus, Hoosier Hurricane. I used to adore CCI. I'd be a bit miffed that people seemed to ignore them just 'cause the company is defunct, and even more so when people would criticize them for aging poorly. But I've noticed over time that there aren't too many outstanding ones anymore. I just was lucky that my first two were two of the best: Tremors and Timber Terror.
  2. I'm trying to keep my expectations modest, but I'm definitely more excited about Lightning Run than Banshee.
  3. The colors do look better in the light (if still a bit odd).
  4. Robb, I was just thinking about this, and I completely agree with you. I've noticed several Six Flags parks going through at least two, and often three "phases" within just the last few years, apparently due to management changes. It seems like quite a few went from being overlooked or widely derided, to being loved or even unexpected "darlings"...and back to being lackluster or even hated once again. The lack of consistency is frustrating.
  5. ^I actually noticed for the first time this year that the restraints can be slightly uncomfortable when they tighten down, but it doesn't affect my love for the ride. It seemed less violent overall this year. In 2011, it left bruises all over my neck, even though I was intuitively riding just as defensively as I do now. It was also overly intense in the front row, which now seems just right! I think I even put my hands up this year without getting chopped in the arm.
  6. Does that gyroscope-looking car represent a real ride? Because I'm slightly terrified just looking at it. In a good way. Happy to see those gorgeous Century Flyers. Makes me want to hop right in!
  7. [see last page.] What even are those rides? I rode the one at PNE Playland, and it was fun, but unnecessarily jerky!
  8. Probably my favorite Six Flags wooden coaster. The design makes it a modern classic, and I love the twists and the plentiful airtime. So addictively rerideable that even with my affection, I managed to get a bit tired of it!
  9. First light snowfall the other day, and first snow on the ground this morning! Other parts of Oregon are reporting heavy blankets, but I'll have to wait for that. Record lows are predicted.
  10. Morey's has a ride called the Waltzer, but I think it's actually a different ride, and it definitely doesn't ride like the beloved Waltzers of the UK. It was pretty much a tamer Tilt-a-Whirl. Didn't Morey's once have a Tagada?
  11. I'm afraid I might actually miss the funky datedness, or dated funkiness, of the Hotel Breakers interior. But the updates should help the hotel stand on its own merits rather than just luring people due to the convenience factor.
  12. Not only is this a good Batman, it's also a SHARK. Win.
  13. Burgers, all the way! I'll take a burger at pretty much any restaurant that offers 'em, no matter what else they serve (unless I'm in the mood for grilled cheese). I'm leery of burritos, but mostly because I hate lettuce, so I don't mind putting together my own. When I get Mexican, it's nachos or quesadillas. Or a burger off the gringo menu!
  14. Portland, Oregon
  15. ^^^How funny that it ended up being "authorized" after all!
  16. Spot the coaster! Now that wood is going up (um, should I reword that?), I'm starting to get excited!
  17. ^^^^Judging from the theming I've seen in pictures of the Joker at SFM, I'm not shocked if there are equally good things hiding in their Dark Knight building.
  18. So Nefeskesen translates to Breathtaking? That's pretty neat. Nefeskesen...I think I like the sound of that. Although I'm sure I have no idea how to pronounce it correctly.
  19. ^Thanks for the update. Somehow, it just feels good to know one could be back in action soon, even if it's far away.
  20. They should have waited until today to air that, since apparently it was Cheetah Day.
  21. As frustrating as the reason is, I'm looking forward to the result. At least it will be a novelty to have so many tunnels.
  22. ^Yeah, I think it has a lot more theming than your stereotypical chain park, but a lot less theming than a "theme park." It is very pleasant and attractive in parts...especially for a Six Flags.
  23. ^^^His detailed explanations of the process were very interesting to read. Looks like a newer comment suggests it hasn't actually been sold. Hopefully soon. That car still looks nice!
