  1. I saw five species of birds in my backyard this morning! American Robin, Oregon Junco, Western Scrub Jay (evil!), Red-shafted Northern Flicker, and a beautiful Steller's Jay.
  2. Is that a newly designed logo? Either way, it's totally awesome. Here's hoping the ride is, too.
  3. "Brand New Cadillac" -The Clash
  4. ^I noticed that word choice, too. Still, I think that saying "Jolly Rancher" by name implies that they can ride.
  5. ^I'm sure I've seen that view of Prowler before, but not in a long time. Reminds me of how awesome it is!
  6. ^Stryper. Okay, so I don't really listen to them (so far?), but I've heard that album has been doing pretty well. By the way, who are the Winery Dogs? I NEED more blues rock in my life, but I don't really know where to start.
  7. Oaks Amusement Park is replacing their Lewis and Clark-themed dark ride with a new attraction. I haven't uncovered any hints or announcements yet, but it's going to use the same building, so I hope it's a new dark ride. If not, hopefully it's at least some kind of ride. A small dark coaster would be especially cool! Silverwood is getting one of those mini-spinning coasters featured at IAAPA. That will be fun to ride someday!
  8. ^Jolly Rancher = over 60". Wait, why is this so exciting to me?
  9. I always was surprised that they didn't have a kiddie coaster. I already want to call it Baby Skyrush. Figures I'm not the only nerd who will ride it if possible. I've gotten used to getting on kiddie coasters without a problem (because many allow it, not because I'm special), but I guess this one doesn't look particularly promising.
  10. "Taxi Driver" - Hanoi Rocks Yup, definitely in one of those phases where I'm going to be prone to posting the same few bands over and over.
  11. "Foolin'" - Def Leppard
  12. I tend toward this as well (sometimes I feel like I'm in the minority there). If a coaster is on my radar to visit, I'll generally avoid the videos, but still read any TPR reviews I come across. Sometimes I'll seek out reviews from other sources and sometimes I'll hold off. But since nothing can replicate the experience of actually riding something in person, if I do watch a video, I don't feel it ruins anything. In fact, I often forget a lot of the surprises, anyway.
  13. I noticed I posted before Lightning Run was announced--add that to my list! I haven't thought much about the Coney Island Thunderbolt, but I just might make my way back there again as well. What is it again, a slightly more innovative Eurofighter knockoff? Sounds fun to me. I won't lie, I've also found myself wishing I could fly out to "the other Portland" for Roar-O-Saurus. I guess I'll console myself by assuming it will be exactly like riding Wooden Warrior.
  14. It is kind of a funny combo considering they have pretty much "opposite" reputations in the minds of many enthusiasts! Not that I'm worried; I'm sure they both know what they're doing. Hope this leads to some exciting new paths for RMC. Any chance this means there's something already planned?
  15. There does seem to be a resurgence in Christmas events or extended operating seasons in the past few years.
  16. I'm still very skeptical of this, but yes, in typical B&M fashion it's at least shaping up to be a good-looking ride. Thankfully I am already planning to check it out for myself next year.
  17. Perhap this isn't quite in the spirit of this thread, but my best for October was Iron Rattler.
  18. ^I remember seeing something about that. Was it confirmed, or just rumored? Seems like we would've heard more about any changes to such a rough ride.
  19. "Love's An Injection" - Hanoi Rocks
  20. "Don't Know What You Got" - Cinderella
  21. Yeah, neat thread idea! I'm "over" buying coaster shirts for myself, but I really like that Lakeside one.
  22. This thread is getting some interesting responses! I've seen several people describe Rollo Coaster at Idlewild as a "mini Boulder Dash." I've since read that this may not be coincidental: the smaller coaster is rumored to have directly inspired the layout for Boulder Dash.
  23. I see they're already working on repairs. Since it's Silver Dollar City, I trust that any lost theming will be fully restored (though I'm not sure any was damaged). I (may have) used my Outlaw Run mug today to celebrate her not burning down. Not that I need a special reason to.
  24. ^Reverchon for sure! I've always had it spin like crazy, without even trying to sit strategically. I've heard this from others too, so I've always been optimistic that it was more than just luck. It reminds me of a good spinning flat ride!
  25. Now I know what I'm playing next time I ride! For me... Live carousel band organs. X2 - it gets criticized for its unreliability, but when it works, it adds a lot to the lift hill and brake run. Pre-launch revs on TTD - the sound effect enhances the overall psyche-out of waiting to launch.
