What Ride makes you Nervous the Most?
The Bebes replied to Thrillrider15's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
There is only ONE ride I will NEVER board again (from sheer fright). The flat ride most commonly known as........ TANGO (^see above) -Mr. Bebe -
I'm loading the clip right now. Two shots oughta do it. One for missing the DBH, and one for mentioning her. We were in Fort Lauderdale for three days waiting to board a Trans-Atlantic cruise for our honeymoon. Talked about taking a bus to ride Dania Beach Hurricane, but never did it. Regrets. Who knows if we'll ever be back in Fort Lauderdale/Miami again or if DBH will still be standing. Same trip, after the cruise: At Walibi World Holland, we skipped La Via Volta (Boomerang clone). Some regret, as we skipped it because it's just a boomerang clone and we've ridden enough of them. But we're probably not going to have an opportunity to get that credit again. Also, El Condor was closed. But I don't think this topic is about credits you missed because of circumstances beyond your control. Rather, the crdits you willingly passed up, only to regret later. -Mr. Bebe

Making plans for a 2010 trip
The Bebes replied to coastered's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Yeah, If you were frugal enough with your food & souvenirs, you should be able to come in under $2000ea for the trip. Of course, if you can score a deal somewhere along the way on Rental car, air-fare, etc, you can trim even more. BUT, if you let opportunities pass, maybe you'll get stuck paying even more. AND, we're talking $2000 US Dollars. In Euro, it would only be like $1400EU. -Mr. Bebe -
What Do You Think Of Morgan
The Bebes replied to coasterfreaksrttd's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Well, Magnum is not a Morgan, it's an Arrow. I have only ridden Steel Force at Dorney and Phantom's Revenge at Kennywood. Though, I will agree that Steel Force is very similar to Magnum. Phantom is NOTHING like Steel Force! It has NO MCBR, a unique design and layout, and a wide range of different forces and elements. -Mr. Bebe -
Making plans for a 2010 trip
The Bebes replied to coastered's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I would suggest you ADD Six Flags America right outside of Washington, DC (since you'll be right there) and skip Freestyle Music Park (simply for drive time and distance). As far as the driving after each park goes, It's really dependent on how YOU can handle it. In 2006 we took a trip where we were driving every night, and some days you really regret it. Our most recent trip (from Pittsburgh to Virginia Beach) was great and we handled the nightly drives just fine. DRIVE TIMES: SFOG to Dollywood = ~3.5hrs Dollywood to Carowinds = 3.5hrs Carowinds to BGE = ~ 5hrs BGE to KD = ~1hr KD to SFA = ~1.5hr Also, remember that WEEKENDS (esp Saturdays) are going to be exceptionally crowded at the parks. I would suggest this itinerary to maximize parks on weekdays: DAY 1 (Sun) - Fly from AMS to ATL DAY 2 (Mon) - SFoG DAY 3 (Tues)- Dollywood DAY 4 (Wed)- Carowinds DAY 5 (Thu) - Busch Gardens Europe DAY 6 (Fri) - King's Dominion DAY 7 (Sat) - Sightseeing in D.C. DAY 8 (Sun) - Six Flags America DAY 9 (Mon) - FREE TIME UNTIL FLIGHT (7pm, 9pm) DAY 10 (Tue)-ARRIVE AMS early P.M. (1pm, 3pm) TRANSPO: If you are going to rent a car one way, try Budget first (and look for coupons online). We scored a nice rental for 12 days for under $500 total. Anyone else wanted over $1500. Mousesavers.com lists a promo code W810011 valid for anyone who shops at Walmart (anyone really) and your total would be $1032 after taxes and fees (using Jul 19,2010-Jul 29,2010 as reference). GAS: gas prices right now are around $2.50/gallon. (roughly $150for the trip) LODGING: If you stay at economy places (Days Inn, Travelodge, Howard Johnson, etc), you should be able to get rooms around $70/night (some places less, some more). $750 ish. ADMISSIONS: roughly $300 FOOD & SOUVENIRS: How much do you eat??? How much do you buy???? +$500 or more AIRFARE: A sample search on Expedia.com resulted in airfaire around $800/per person TRIP COST: ~$3500 USD for ONE person ~$2700 USD per person for 2 Hope this helps!!!! -Mr. Bebe -
Congrats Sue!!!! ATTENTION BIG MIKE!!! BIG MIKE: Keep this in mind..... Arizona does not change their clocks with the rest of the country, and is currently sharing PACIFIC TIME. This means that when you leave UTAH at 10AM, you'll enter ARIZONA at 9AM. Sounds good so far. BUT, when you leave Tucson at 4pm, it will already be 5pm at Western Playland. If your drive is 5hrs, they'll close just as you get there. PS - We're still very bummed that we can't get away from L.A. to meet up with you in AZ!!!!

Short Trip to LA - Recommendations?
The Bebes replied to tommanb182's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Disey's website is your best bet for prices, but they have so many combos that it's difficult to naigate. Also, we had found people on Craigslist that sell you one day of their ten day parkhopper for about $50/day. They'll meet you at a place like Coco's right outside of Disneyland, give yout the ticket, then meet you at the pizza shop near Space Mountain near the end of the night and get the ticket back from you. Worked great for us in the past! -
Short Trip to LA - Recommendations?
The Bebes replied to tommanb182's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I am a fan of all the SoCal parks. I visit SFMM and Knotts a few times each year, and Disneyland/DCA once every few years. Definately GOTO Disneyland if you've never been!!!!!! BUT try to stay away from a Saturday there, or any other theme park for that matter. Disney is always more crowded than the other parks and you'll likely encounter 2hr lines for most attractions. You will NEVER be able to complete even the "MUST SEE" rides that the other poster listed. Also, I would add the NEMO Submarine ride to the list. Friday will probably be half the crowd of Saturday. OR get a two-day park-hopper for Fri and Sat and save your sightseeing for some other time. -Mr. Bebe -

TPR Termination Day June 28, 2009 This isn’t the trip report your mother warned you about….. . 2AM. Lady Bebe can rest now that the future of mankind is secure. Or is it…….. Justin shows his remorse for scoring his 15th lap, while Lady Cyborg rubs it in!!! Mission complete. 11:30PM. After a ride together, Mr. Bebe and PackfanLV stepped off the train. There was nobody lined up in the row that Lady Cyborg and Justin were in, so they stayed on. There was nobody lined up in the row that Shawn Reece and Jasmine were in, so THEY stayed on. Shawn and I franticly looked for an empty seat. Nope. The train was COMPLETELY full. Last train of the night. Goodbye family and friends!!! Enjoy your extra lap without us!!!!! The audio was broken in one of the trains, so every time the Bebes rode it, Mr. Bebe took it upon himself to recreate the audio for the entire train: “This is our war…Dah dah daht dah-daht….Here They Come!….Take the Tunnel! This is our salvation. OOOOO Heeyeah OOOO OOOOO Heeyah…” OK. Time out. A TPR member (or guest) actually puked on T:S and we had to suspend our ERT to clean it up. I’m Seriously. 10PM. We infiltrate the wooden structure for the last time. Victory would be ours. Unless Lady Bebe turned out to be a Lady Cyborg in our presence!!!! Miles Bennett Dyson selects a seat near the sexbox We headed toward X2 again, hoping to gain some insight. From afar, we noticed Mechanic and his group had barely escaped capture on X2. Finally we made it to the platform. We noticed remnants of X (or just a mistake on the sign) Transport full of renegades departing Empty transport toward the entrance 8PM. Time to return to the compound Should we continue with the Wood references? … then gets mad when he smacks her across the face with it. Like usual, Lady Bebe gives Mr. Bebe wood…. Thanks for the shelter, great party and super event, Alveys!!!! Robb gave Mr. Bebe and Justin wood Stalkerazzi photo Robb passed out nifty TPR pens for a special Terminator: Salvation version of TPR Trivia. There were videos in the awesome theater, billiards and suicide hot wings! There was shuffleboard, swimming, and pizza!!! 3PM. We reached the Alvey shelter, where there just-so-happened to be a TPR party. The Bebes scored a brand new credit on this kiddie coaster. Does Jeff Johnson count this? Justin scaled the Wall, AND no up-charge for this one!!!! A quick spin on Escalator: The Ride Lady Bebe Takes The Tunnel So it was off to the mall to kill some time before heading to the Alvey shelter. Unsure if the mall was secure, Lady Bebe camouflaged herself amongst the scenery. After determining that the coast was clear, we set out to see if the Mall could ever compare to SFMM???? “I’ll Be Back. And stronger than EVAR” The Bebes spotted IloveRides David and Hillary Duff errr Brittany leaving the compound. 1PM. As we left the lunch area, Mr. Bebe peeked through an open “employees only” gate to see this: A Skynet spy perhaps? Doh! Lady Bebe put an end to the shenanigans Mr. Bebe used the Popsicle sticks for all sort of shenanigans Justin got served Eat your heart out, Big Mike! We also ate dessert!!!! Popsicles and Ice Cream sandwiches We ate Chicken, BBQ brisket, rolls, salad, potato salad, corn, and mashed potatoes. Tweety bird joined the resistance. It was clear that we could finally relax. 12PM. The resistance regrouped and refueled. Our orders: Protect Yourselves. A shelter would be made available at 3PM. A second attack would commence at 10PM. Good luck soldiers. In order to gather a better look at the machines that had overrun the wooden structure, we ascended the nearby Déjà Vu structure. We ascended the nearby Déjà Vu structure. Word had come across the loudspeaker that there might be a mole among us. JustinJJ spotted it on Mr. Bebes face and Whacked it. Finally, our mission was showing some promise. The renegades had not yet discovered this quadrant. We used the transport to complete 5 parsecs. We rushed toward X2 only to find that the renegades had already taken over the queue line. Max Capacity. Everyone separated. The Bebes, along with JustinJJ, decided to try Scream. The future was looking bleak. Lady Bebe prayed for us. Time was essential. If we didn’t make it there in 10 minutes, it would be overrun with renegades. We headed toward the rear path, which would take us around past Tatsu only to be stopped by a sentry. We made a mad dash up the steep backside hill, passing a Ninja and toward the steps leading down the summit toward the rapids. Another blockade. We would have to wait for the Orient Express transport. 10:30AM. We may be too late. We regrouped with Mechanic John (not Connor), PackfanLV Shawn and his soldiers Shawn Reece & Jasmine outside of the old wooden structure. A new plan was made: X2. We struck 5 times, but the Harvester proved to be too much for us. At 10:20am, we aborted. Calicoasters Cody and Sarah joined our freedom fight Resistance leader Alvey supplied the troops with their gear. Reconnaissance says that machines were spotted in the rear of the compound, somewhere near an old wooden structure. 9AM. We’re in. JustinJJ scouted the area ahead of us and obtained TPR ID Badges & cyborg camouflage We encountered some hostile activity at the main gate, but were able to infiltrate anyway The resistance fighters outfitted themselves for battle. Season Pass: Check. Confirmation: Check. Image Capturing Device: Check. It’s a go. 7AM. The alarm sounded. -

Nice start to a soon-to-be great thread!! The Bebes have probably had our fill of Desperado, as it was pretty jerky last time we rode and we didn't like it. Ugh!!! I guess you didn't get the memo from Buffalo Bill's Resort management: The log flume is now a Bring Your Own Gun attraction. And.... you looked marvelous in that sexy brown hoodie!!!! -The Bebes -
Nice TR. Too bad you didn't get to experience Jack Rabbit in the back. The air-time is spectacular. It isn't the normal ejector pops or floaters that you would normally get. Rather it's as if the entire train was pulled out from beneath you, then you get pulled back down to its' level. Phantom's Revenge is always up there around #10 for steel coasters, and I think it's Under-rated at that. I prefer it over Nitro or Apollo for sure. Agreed that Racer is pretty boring, but if you have a group of four that can each take corresponding seats in different trains, it can be fun. The Bebes' First Theme Park Tour in 2006 was almost the same: Kennywood, Geauga Lake, CP, KI, SFKK & HW! Looking forward to the rest of your trip!!! -Mr. Bebe

^ Muchas Gracias new buddies! I thought I saw your type "A" dad again at Von's today!!!! -
I ditto everything that CFC (Chuck) said above & I feel I must also chime in regarding the lack of editing in your TR. TOO MANY photos of the same stuff will start to bore your readers. A queue line, a tree in the queue line, a sign in the queue line, a door in the queue line.... enough of the queue line. Try not to include any blurry photos. Very annoying. You have two photos of signs that are too blurry to read, and your captions are "Cool" and "awesome". Unless your slow shutter speed is cool, I don't get it. If I have a TR that I have SELECTED 60 photos for, I'll go back through and remove 10 of them, making my TR stop at the 50 pic TPR limit. Think about if you were reading a trip report and just ask yourself: "Is this pic or caption really THAT interesting?" if you hesitate to say yes, then it probably isn't. I am a professional filmmaker, and I know a thing or two about telling stories through imagery. I hope you don't feel like people are ganging up on you. In all actuality, I want to help. I think you're on the right track with your TRs. You've got some nice thoughts and some decent pics. You just need to be more selective. Sometimes LESS is MORE. Keep it up, little dude! -Mr. Bebe

Another great TR, guys!! It's Bebe approved. Lady Bebe laughed out loud. Mr. Bebe will ride just about anything.... except TANGO!!!!! -
LOL!!! We didn't intend to start an Orson Welles' War of the Worlds-esque panic about the BBW sign. We simply photoshopped an existing picture of the 25th ANNIVERSARY sign to pay homage to our soon-to-be defunkt comrade. But thanks for the compliments on a very fast photoshop job!!! Original photo and Photoshopped photo are below for comparison. Anniversary vs RIP

The Bebes are so glad to have gotten a ride on BBW this year during TPT:P2. As far as suspended coasters go, BBW was one of the better. The dive near the end was great and the scenery was very cool. Future speculation: With BGE's B&M connection, I could see a Flying Coaster taking advantage of the same swiss village scenery that BBW used. We will miss you BBW!!!
