  1. There will be a new ride for 2010..... just wait
  2. Well as a former ride op at Wicked Twister (briefly for a week my normal ride was Raptor) I can assure you it is the amount of people/ weight in the train. It doesn't weigh the train or anything like that. It does have a cool touch screen at the controls that I enjoyed playing with looking at all the vitals of the ride
  3. ^ Don't see anything wrong with Raptor. Wildcat is Wildcat I guess lol. It's a small wild mouse coaster that gives a decent ride. I enjoy it but would never wait in line for it. As far as the ride for next year, my sources keep hearing a water ride guys. I was hoping for a coaster but not in 2010. As far as being an Intamin flume, that I don't know yet however.
  4. No more gimmicky than a looping steel coaster...........
  5. Mean Streak never bothers me when it comes to roughness cause I find if I sit forward in the seat and brace myself the entire ride it doesn't hurt at all. As fas as Son of Beast, I have yet to find a rideable position on it cause there just flat out isn't one. It is just too rough of a coaster. As far as Magnum goes I've never had any bruising issues on it. I would maybe recommend tightening your seat belt and not putting the lap bar doen as far. I love Magnum.
  6. Not really funny but just ignorant; Guy telling the group he was with in line for Diamondback that it's taller than Millennium Force and that the tallest coaster was "Eh somewhere in Japan"
  7. You'd need a few trailers I suspect...... just a few
  8. 1. Bluefire 2. Tie between Manta and T-Express
  9. Well I know it's pretty delayed but here's some of the pictures I took this past weekend...... I was very impressed with Diamondback. The airtime was top notch (still floating out of my seat halfway down the hill after the crest). It broke down as my train was coming into the station for my last ride of the day and they had it fixed in about 15 minutes. One operator said they've been periodically getting the same issue since it opened..... something in the computer he thought Drop Zone (Tower...... what a lame name) is still one of my favorite drop rides. I'm on the far right I like that Spongebob 3D show but it has been there for a while. I'm anxious to see a new show in the coming seasons Stunt Track was almost a walk on despite the crowds. Still a fun ride although I wouldn't wait longer than 15-30 minutes for it. That's me in the Red Wings shirt btw
  10. As far as I've seen all Vekoma flyers have horrible dispatch rates.
  11. I was at the park this weekend. Son of Beast is still down. My back and ribs were rejoicing! Tom
  12. Sorry for Hijacking the thread here but I have a question.... Is Viper smoother than other Arrow loopers such as Vortex at Kings Island? I've always wondered..... Tom
  13. Just got home from my trip there! I was there yesterday and today. Diamondback was awesome! I loved all the floating airtime it had. The only thing that miffed me about the trip was the trims on the Beast. I probably keep complaining about them for years lol. Didn't bother riding the Crypt cause I knew it would just piss me off cause I know all the theming is gone. All in all I enjoyed the trip and the people I went with had fun as well. Tom
  14. The worst line I've waited in was a few weeks ago at Knott's Berry Farm Silver Bullit had full queues and they were only running 1 train, the crew was terribly slow, and they were sending trains with empty seats. It drove me up a ****ing wall. Tom
  15. I guess I have a "condition" cause SOB hurt like hell when it had the loop and the old trains, and it hurts like hell since without the loop and new trains. I'll be at Kings Island this weekend and if it's open, I'll ride it once.... and that'll do it for me for the season. Tom
  16. Mayflies and muffleheads are two different bugs.
  17. Both parks are pretty great. For me the atmosphere at Cedar Point is what wins it for me. The fact that I can drive my boat to the park is a +.
  18. As a local I can say yes the Muffel Heads ARE normally this bad, just not normally this late in the year. Since June has been relatively cooler they have been sticking around longer than normal. I personally hate it cause they get all in your car and on it. *edit: On a side note the Muffleheads don't have mouths and they are only alive for about 24 hours. They're only purpose is just food for animals and to annoy humans lol.
  19. Funny you should mention that when I worked there as a ride op in '04 we used to write stuff in the sand there all the time!
  20. BTW I'll be at Kings Island this weekend! Going all day Saturday and Most of Sunday. Tom
  21. Awesome, I'll try to go to KI the same day you do and we could ride Diamondback! Viking Fury never did inversions, but I believe it went 80ยบ which is close! I don't remember it ever going THAT steep........
  22. I personally like to sit at either the front portion of the train or the very back. That way you get the full spike of twisting. I like the very back cause of the cool twisting view you get of the Aqua Stadium and below from the seat.
  23. ^ Millennium Force rarely stacks???? Are you serious?! Yes by design it is not supposed to stack at all. It is supposed to run in the manner that you describe. However that is not the reality 9 times out of 10, and I got to the park.... um.... a lot. Sorry most of the time Millennium Force has all 3 trains just sitting there, so like I said above when I see it running back like it did when it first opens, I'm pleasently surprised. Tom
  24. Great trip report so far! I'm anious to see your Europa Park pictures! Hope there's lots of Bluefire photos! Tom
