  1. ^ Just your opinion. I like water rides on a hot day but you have to come prepared for them. Bring a change of clothes, put them in a locker. On a side note you can't tell from the pictures or animation but I hop they add some theming like more animatronic figures and things of that nature along the ride. If this thing is themed pretty well, that will really make this ride.
  2. Yeah after the first drop looks like after a turnaround you go right under a waterfall...... so if the drop didn't soak you, that will. I may not ride this one quite yet on opening day brrrrrrr
  3. Sorry hard to pick up sarcasm in writing lol. Just to let everyone know if they have some kind of special like model or something special set up at the park tomorrow I'll go over and take pictures. I can't get in till 9:30am cause I just have a platinum pass though so it looks like I'll miss a press conference.
  4. CP has no flats Ummmm that's not true they have quite a few.
  5. Sorry I didn't post this earlier in the day but the Sandusky Register today had an article about the announcement of the new ride tomorrow and below they had a list of all the major Cedar Point additions since 1989 so I'd thought I'd share them with the curious..... 1989 - Magnum XL-200 1990 - Sandcastle Suites 1991 - Mean Streak 1992 - Challenge Park 1993 - Snake River Falls 1994 - Raptor 1995 - Breakers East and Laser Show 1996 - Mantis 1997 - Chaos 1998 - Power Tower 1999 - Camp Snoopy & Woodstock's Express 2000 - Millennium Force 2001 - Lighthouse Point 2002 - Wicked Twister 2003 - Top Thrill Dragster 2004 - Castaway Bay 2005 - maXair 2006 - Skyhawk 2007 - Maverick 2008 - Planet Snoopy and Skyscraper 2009 - Starlight Experience
  6. I guess I don't fit water slides into EXTREME terror rides but this is a decent selection. Too bad there isn't enough time to offer more content. I wonder when Extreme Terror Rides 3 debuts? http://www.travelchannel.com/Travel_Ideas/Adventure_Travel_and_Sports/ci.Extreme_Terror_Rides_3.alternative?vgnextfmt=alternative ADMIN EDIT - Please don't double post 2 minutes after your previous post. That's what the "edit" button is for.
  7. Looks like the exact same layout as Steel Hawg. I don't remember how steep that one is though but it's also this same S&S coaster.
  8. Thank you. I really think that Cedar Fair probably doesn't have the resources to spend on the Nick franchise.
  9. Honestly I really don't mind what it is..... Just happy that it's something. What if it's just a new alcoholic beverage? I'll drink to that!
  10. Honestly I really don't mind what it is..... Just happy that it's something.
  11. +1 I agree with that 100%. They are making a mistake. This obviously shows that Cedar Fair either does absolutely no research on it's young audience, or just doesn't care to pay for the rights for the Nickelodeon franchise. Or both.
  12. Well I'm a CP "fanboy" I guess and I've been thinking all along that it's a water ride, based on an inside rumor I heard a while ago, so a few people's constant call-outs about how they want the announcement to be a non-coaster to spite us is getting kind of old. Maybe said people should find a hobby and get a life.
  13. Yeah it was quite good thanks for sharing
  14. They already have a Intamin drop ride....... Demon Drop
  15. Wow that is really cool. Thanks for sharing those.
  16. Cedar Point still has PLENTY of room. 300 acre park, 64 acre parking lot. They will eventually build out into the lot and I bet either build parking structures (Which are very costly), or look at some offsite parking alternatives (May be more likely). Now Sandusky Griffing Airport is eventually moving from it's current location on the water on Cleveland Road. Cedar Point could buy this property, and then some day build a parking complex there and then ferry the guests over like Magic Kingdom style.
  17. I was sorta on the bandwagon about tearing it down but as a coaster enthusiast I'd just hate to see it go. I mean I really want to love Son of Beast, it's just too terrible of a ride experience to enjoy it. If they could successfully retrack it with either GCI, or Intamin prefab track, that would certainly be a great alternative to tearing it down in my opinion. However I wonder if it's just too tall to matter. I don't think GCI has ever made a coaster much more than 100ft.
  18. This May I was at Knott's Berry Farm for the very first time and wanted to ride Silver Bullet. As a former ride op for Raptor I know B&M inverts can be cycled pretty quickly. The line was agonizingly long. Although they were only running one train, they were taking their sweet time loading it. Then the older guy who was talking on the mic between trains asks the crowd if there were any birthdays. A couple people raised their hands. He then went on to say that nobody cared. Thought it was pretty rude and uncalled for.
  19. This ride looks awesome! I'm so excited to ride it and I have never had any issues with these restraints either. Thanks for posting the announcement Robb. *edit* Uh oh looks like here's a CP fanboy that likes this new ride.....
  20. That statue of the guy falling in the ground reminds me of the on by Washington D.C.
  21. I think you're on to something there
  22. Here's why I don't think we're getting a new big coaster like a GCI....... No footers, no track. Even when they were building Dragster, track was showing up in August and sitting in the gravel by Mean Streak. I really hope for a themed Aquatrax, but the fact we're not seeing anything yet has me a little worried. Now as far as re-furbishing Millennium Force, I've been saying for years it needs a new paint job. Hope they do that at least this year.
