Stand up coasters...any good?
Gnome replied to MARK's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Wow has it really been that long? I remember riding Riddler's Revenge the year it opened, and it's still as smooth and great as ever! -
50th Fireworks
Gnome replied to Incinerator Tuesdays's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
My favorite is the New Orleans Square, its so cool how they do the fireworks, and everytime they launch into the air, people always say the same thing, "AWwwww!" And its just so good! My second favorite is the Tomarrow Land one, I accidently put the grand finale cuz I didn't realize that the poll was of which section you like most, not which firework show you liked the most (I thought the grand finale meant the latest Firework show when I first voted, lol) -
the "because you touch yourself at night" tag works for everything you don't want explain!

Stand up coasters...any good?

Not really, RIddler' REvenge has a load of air time in the front, and I didn't notice any pain in the groin area. The seats don't really bother me at all, but if you've been at the park for the whole day, it might be hard for you to stand. -
Compilation theme park video!
Gnome replied to jarmor's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
you should get Adobe Premier Elements! Its only like 130 or something like that, but you get so much! ITs hard to tell whats different from Adobe Premier and Adobe Premier Pro! Who knows what you could do with it! I really like it, myself, and its worth every penny. -
yeah they really do use to term "coaster nut" to its full potential. ANd make us look like part time hobbiests!

California Screamin' Has Been TRIMMED?!?!?
Gnome replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
the loop and the bunny hills were what made the ride stand out, imo, I don't know why they crippled the experience. -
It depends who's running it. I know last time I went to SFMM, they let me bring it on everything but Goliath. But technically SFMM isn't suppose to let you bring it on, but they don't really care. As for getting POVs permission, I think calling the park might help a little more than emailing them, because then you can explain to them personally what you want to do, and you can get more information, if need be, on how to get footage, or you camera on the ride.

Cedar Point vs. Magic Mountain
Gnome replied to pgathriller's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
being the best park isn't based soley on the ammount of roller coasters. Here's a perfect example.... Holiday Wolrd. Very reasonably priced items, free soda, and soon to have 3 great roller coasters(4 in all). It may not have 16 like Cedar Point, but I'd sure choose Holiday Wolrd in a heart beat over Cedar Point. -
SFI Spills the Beans a bit
Gnome replied to ParkTrips's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
well, the ride is only a season or 2 old, so in a way its practically new! Why would you want it to go to waste anyways? 8) -
well, only one thing can explain this, he was abducted by aliens, and was probed to the point as to where he snapped. From then on the only thing that ran in his mind was Xcelerator! But seriously, I want to ride with this guy, I'll look out for him the next time I see him. This reminds me of Mantis man (its probably the same guy! http://absolutelyreliable.com/2004_02_22_rumorarchive.html#107775558777784235

WHat???!?!?! I hope the ghost of Walt comes back and kills the idiot who decided to do that one. But hopefully not, also why does this guy say otherwise? http://www.westcoaster.net/community/index.php?showtopic=14513&st=20 -
Desperado Roller Coaster Stunt

SFMW: New children’s section.
Gnome replied to zongaboy626's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
yeah, more profitable than SFMW. And a lot of people who have been to SFMW have also been to SFMM, which confuses me why they used the "Ride out Loud" tag line with Roar and Scream... :? -
check out this cool video
Gnome replied to zongaboy626's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
that was a good one! It made me smile. But lets point out how they kept changing trains that they were sitting in! It went from blue to purple, back to blue, then to green! -
If you could change a coaster.
Gnome replied to Supermilk's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
well, I would change Xcelerator, instead of the second over bank wrapping around the top hat, and turning right, I'd have it fly behind the top hat while turning left, and then do a camal back, or 2, then another over bank, more camal backs, then do something and make it fly into the brakes, then it would have 100% covered the need of any air time/hyper thing, but they weren't thinking and just put in a lightning fast hyper coaster with 1 major dosage of air time, 2 boring overbanks, 1 adrenaline rushing launch, and 30 seconds of ride time (I think of it as 10 because the last 20 seconds are so boring...) Which reminds me, I would have more g forces going through the overbanks. -
I think that when I do my coaster designs in class cuz my teacher is boring, or something, i'm gonna draw in the supports like what you did, it looks nicer.

you are the owner of cedar point
Gnome replied to Supermilk's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
my prices would compete with that of holiday world's, except I'd have entry price about the same, but the free coke, and food thing goes. I would remove Mean Streak and replace it with a Gravity Group wooden coaster, and re track all the other wooden coasters at least once every other year (more if need be). And take all trims off of rides. If it needs to be trimmed, then it needs to be removed (thats my theory anyways! ) And thats about the only thing I think I would change.
