The one time I rode the Earthquake ride was as a kid with my grandmother. When it was over she went to the window and asked "That was it?"

I'm rather confident that there is not enough time for Bluegrass Boardwalk to contract B&M then have B&M design and already manufacturer a ride in a matter of a couple months. I don't think they have even officially declared they ARE reopening it. Yes, they have the lease but I believe they are still going through the process to secure financing. They ARE looking into getting a steel coaster and I believe Dan has even said they are willing to spend as much as $20 million for it.....but B&M might not be "family friendly" enough for them...although Wild Eagle does only have a 50" height requirement.

I remember being really shocked at how quick the Thunderhead crew was the last time I visited. They were running two trains without stacking, and there was one person on that crew under 60, and she was the main panel operator.

^Not only that, but anytime someone brings it up on their Facebook page they delete it. Can't say I'm all that surprised though.

Is this the base for the ride to go on top of the concrete pad? I know they did cut some holes into the pad but maybe it has a combination of footers and a base?

I would kill for that kind of mileage in my car. Also you were pretty dead on when you said how many miles you planned to put on your car last year

Started my 2012 coaster season at SFOG on Sunday with Mindbender....ended the day with Georgia Scorcher.

It IS hard putting stickers on trash cans! It's also hard putting them on Enterprise cars, S&S ride banners, river rapid boats, among other things.

I wouldn't be surprised if this is for an oversea park considering how early they are manufacturing it.

That's just the generic name they use now to remove park identifying information from the stickers.

^Yes they did. It was the blue train from GASM...which looked odd on a ride themed to a Ninja. It looks VERY good now. Hopefully they did get that second Arrow train, because the Arrow was noticeably smoother than the Vekoma train last year.

Just got back from a GREAT day at the park! The crews today were really pushing today. Goliath was often dispatching one train while the other would be going through the overbank over the road into the parking lot. Some observations I made today: -Georgia Cyclone was still down. There were two guys working on the first turnaround when I walked by. I also noticed the blue train was in the station already loaded with test dummies. -Ninja still only had the one train on the track, and had a short line in the afternoon. They even had a sign out front explaining they were only running one train. It was running an Arrow train, which has a shiny new black with red stripe paint job. I remember last year at DSB they said they were going to get a second Arrow train this year so still have to see if that happened. -All other rides were running 2 trains today. -Batman had three rows blocked off today, creating a 25-30 minute wait when I rode it. Rows 7-8 were reserved for Flash Pass (when did they start blocking off two rows for FP?), and IDK why row 2 was blocked off. That's about all I guess. It seems the park is off to a great 45th year!

My first thought about the new staircase is for Fast Lane. Kings Island's GM recently tweeted a picture of the footers for a Fast Lane staircase for their Vortex, so I could see other CF parks adding new staircases to accommodate the program.

The park has confirmed: NO Timberliners in 2012....now planned for 2013. They left that comment onthis post on their Facebook page.

^IIRC, they started running one side backwards in the 1980s because of the downtime The Bat was experiencing. Cedar Fair has already said they turned the trains to all face forward because PTC does not approve of their trains running backwards on a ride. Tom Rebbie was once asked about it and I believe he said that if a park wants them they will design a train to run backwards, but they will not sign off/perform work on any current train the runs backwards. I never got to ride The Racer backwards, but did get to ride Rebel Yell and it didn't do much for me. I really disliked the ride but found the forward side ok and both forward sides of The Racer and Thunder Road at Carowinds to be fun.

Millennium Force had a very noticeable rattle when I rode it in 2010.

Steve for comparison, how many trains does Carowinds usually run during the week? KD blows my mind when other CF parks run all trains even when the park is dead on weekdays (like KI).

How often does KD use multiple trains on their coasters? I remember back in 01/02 their GM at the time said they would not run multiple trains on most of their coasters during the week, regardless of how long the line was.

^During the management presentation at Deep South Bash they did say that there were looking at ride capital for 2013 and "coaster" was mentioned. Of course a lot could have changed since then.

No, and while it was a humorous story the park came up with, as soon as I heard about it I knew this was bound to happen. They can release a new story about how the first one was totally fake but there will still be people that believe it and will refuse to ride the coaster.
