If you look at how far banked the first turn is, I don't think they're planning on launching it too much faster. I'd expect to see a small speed increase, but not by much. We'll just have to wait and see...

I attended that game, while the officiating wasn't great the game was called reasonably fair. Not too much bias on either team, not to mention that building was LOUD. My ears are still recovering today!

For the record, I'm quoting this for awesome. If you're ever round DC parts again shoot me a PM, I have season tickets! I love going to sports bars with my friends and just in general hanging out. Flipside: I also love going to clubs and dancing. One thing I figured out without too much effort is you don't go to clubs looking for a partner. Its bad news bears. I also absolutely LOVE video games, I'm a huge geek. Date for personality, not looks (in my opinion). I love top 40, I love blues, jazz, rock, alternative, hell even some rap songs. Right now my flavor is Adele, its all just what tickles my fancy - I refuse to be defined by the stereotype. P.S. COME BACK....WHAT RANGERS? WE CAN'T HEAR YOU!

Starting a project in my spare time, working park idea: A derelict factory complex that has been retrofitted as an amusement park. Right now I'm focusing on what I'm planning on as the centerpiece of the park, the coaster has two launches. Layout thoughts, and color ideas? The outside facade is going to be a larger factory, with the portion by the launches having a short dark ride section. Thoughts?

If you're deadset on a woodie, perhaps try something more classic like an out and back? With the boardwalk nature this park seems to have it would fit really well. If you're not against it, perhaps a mega-lite esque intamin would do well.

I would love to know how you did the switch track in those two spots. Absolutely phenomenal!

^ That is awesome and sad all at the same time. I came out to my parents after going away for a summer and actually being able to be myself...I just couldn't go back into the closet. After visiting home before Christmas I brought along my boyfriend at the time, introduced him to them and explained things to them. My mother (thank god) is one of those mom's that doesn't give two shits, you're her child and she will take care of you AND your friends AND their friends heh. My dad on the other had, well that was a bit different. After I told him what was up he just kinda looked at me for a second....then burst out laughing. After that tension had been released I asked him why he was laughing....he'd just been accepted into the Deacon program at our family's church. To say the least, its a running joke in our family now! I've been blessed with a large group of supportive family and friends, and honestly I couldn't live without my straight friends. It's really hard to find a gay guy that's really into hockey like I am!

Eh, I think that's a skewed way to look at it. Anyone else going to a play off game this evening? I'll be at Verizon Center, hoping the Caps can make it a 2-0 series!

One of the things that keeps people hooked on this park is the passage of time you've seem to have perfected in your story telling. Not just the trees, but the paint fading, plants growing and changing, rides getting "refurbished" and such. Just wanted to pop in again and say this park is still awesome, and I always read every update. Thank you for an outstanding story!

Are these just trains for existing rides, or will these be complete CTRs? The trains look phenomenal!

Out of curiosity has anyone found a way to do a vertical lift on an extended coaster yet? I've been searching, but to no avail!

I'm looking forward to your Intamin set, any screenshots of the WIP? I really liked the Fahrenheit train you posted, and I'm interested if you're going to just be releasing the train or an entire coaster type. Really loving what you're doing, keep it up!

In 2008 the Magnum crew hit ~1800 pph on a fairly decent basis, particularly when the park was crowded. That ride runs wicked efficiently with a competent crew. On a basic level, you're most likely correct - theoretical will generally be higher than actual. In practice though, some good crews and well designed rides CAN hit that mark with consistency. Its all just a wait and see game until the ride is released, and discussing what pph seems sort of silly (in my opinion). The park knows well what they had designed, and hopefully Intamin can deliver.

Down here in VA, we had a record setting summer in terms of heat index and overall temperatures. We smashed some of our older records by over 10 degrees Fahrenheit, and that throughout the whole summer can make a huge difference in terms of maintenance and the wheel issues. Not to say that I'm an expert, but I do have a local view of things that could have possibly affected how the ride ran last year.

The issue is compounded by last year. Ovie kept getting called for just playing his game, now to the point where he is afraid to dish the hits and play as recklessly as he used to. He's referenced it a few times in some interviews this season, and its sort of sad that the NHL has knocked him down to that level. He used to be an amazing, dynamic player to watch...but now we only get to see sparks of that. Not to say he still isn't amazing, but I do miss him being the one man army.
