The problem with your theory...you're assuming the park is out of land, out of room. No park is "out of room", they'll make something fit if they really want it. -

Vekoma reliability issues...? Just a quick glance at Wikipedia shows at least 20 operating coasters in parks all over the US. I would also think that Disney wouldn't continually buy a product if it had maintenance issues. Their parks are kind of a big deal -
This. I have a machine built specifically for high-end games (built it myself) and RCT3 still has some atrocious load times compared to newer games with far better graphics. In theory a new coaster game with an updated engine and file organization should be able to load and handle much more than anything from 2004.

Which proves my point below: It doesn't really make your point at all. I acknowledge that the park is improving, but it still doesn't hold a candle to other parks within reasonable driving distance. You're welcome to love the park, and hope that it gets great new additions. I personally hope it gets better too. But in its current state, I can't rationalize going to the park more than once a year from my own pocket. It just doesn't make financial sense when there are three other parks within 2.5 hours that deliver far greater experiences on all fronts. I can only really echo what coasterbill is saying. -

^^As another person who has lived in the area, have you ever been to ANY other amusement park? I usually manage to make my way to each DC area park once a year. The park may have gotten better, but it is still not worth a day's visit. I would much rather take my money down to Kings Dominion or Busch Gardens where the park isn't filled with litter, rides are operated much more efficiently (comparatively speaking), and there are actually reasonable options for dining within the park. I have to agree with coasterbill, the only real gem the park has is Wild One. As much as I want to like Roar, its too rough to enjoy - and continues to age ungracefully. Mind Eraser is your standard neglected SLC, see jerky and boring. Batwing always manages to be down for mechanical reasons, Superman is (in my opinion) a rather boring Intamin past the first drop, and Joker's Jinx isn't anything special (though enjoyable). TL;DR - I try to make it a point to visit the park at least once a year. I am not impressed with the maintenance, the ride operations, or even any of the coasters themselves. If the park was pleasant to visit, even just to walk around, I'd go frequently. In its current (better) state? Still not happening. -

Anyone else notice the snoopy with the Santa Claus hat on? Awesome. -
I like the looks of this. You've said a couple times the program will have plenty of customization, does that extend to flat rides as well or custom object creation? (See Google Sketchup, etc.) Edit for clarity: Flat rides, meaning able to create your own, customize the ride cycle (for rides such as Top Spins and the like)

I would also like to take a moment to point out that they're ripping up the parking lot in front of the entrance. Its probably fair to say that once all the coaster parts have been moved out of the lot they're building on, all of that will be ripped out too and rebuilt. In current news, looks like they're working their way back up the other side of the drop into the second half of the inversion today. Its already going up. -

The trains sustain the forces fine, its the restraints that seem to give people an issue more than anything else. Given how intense the layout is, I can't see any major modifications helping to relieve the issue with the restraints apart from some major trim brakes being installed. I'm also pretty sure I read somewhere that Hershey wasn't looking to trim Skyrush at all, correct me if I'm wrong here. -

^ This. Maverick was a great step forward in that department. They need to get some more unique rides and layouts that are just plain fun. Also, their lineup isn't quite finished yet. They could still use a nice wooden coaster (though I do love Blue Streak). Lets just enjoy Gatekeeper and see what they do when the time comes -

I'm not sure what kind of theme you're hoping for, but this is Cedar Point. Aside from it going over the entrance to the park, there probably won't be much Gatekeeping to be had -

In your application you can put in a request for a location towards the end of the form. However there is no guarantee, and returning employees tend have a higher chance at getting the ride location they prefer. You can also mention it during your phone interview, and they can give you a better idea of what your odds are. Good luck! -

Marathoning I305 for a whole day in the spring was pretty awesome. I also really enjoyed the time I was able to spend at Busch Gardens Williamsburg this year. The park really is beautiful, and Verbolten is a stellar addition to their lineup. -

Trip to the U.S.A next year
Yamez replied to aussiekid's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
This seems like the best option in my opinion. Especially for Cedar Point, as others have mentioned, its a huge pain to get to and from the park unless you live in the area. -

Busch Gardens Williamsburg for one last thrill of the year. Super excited to head back to this park.
