^^While they do look similar, there is one piece that's a clear indication of this being sit down track. One of the pieces includes the end of the brake run and the part where it levels off since the brake run is on a slope. The piece looks something like this: _/ if that piece were to be inverted, it'd be an upward sloped final brake run.

I felt more sorry to hear that BBW was closing than I did when I heard MJ died...something is seriously messed up with me FML

^I also agree that SFMM is a better park because they have a lot of stuff to do, but even the smaller rides at sfmm are really jolty making it hard to sit back and relax. What SFMM needs to make KBF obsolete are some good, smooth small rides, a smooth small-medium sized coaster....and an Intamin.

QFT QFTx2 I really find that what makes Knott's easier to spend a day at than SFMM is the amount of kick back rides they have. Silver Bullet is tame enough to be a relaxing ride, but they also have 3 train rides, a much better developed kiddie section than SFMM and rides that are just fun like TMLR and BFR. Even the flumes at SFMM are really jolty and hard to relax on, and their train ride lasts about a grand total of 2 minutes and has really nothing too special to look at.

And now to revive this thread: I really tend NOT to get the feeling anymore, I just rode Supreme Scream for the first time ever a month ago expecting to get the stomach in mouth feeling, nothing. It just felt like really fun airtime.

I thought it was the 25th, my mistake, but I still think it should have been early August to allow the subject to kind of wear off before Carowind's announcement

^I actually think they should have separated the dates more, I think the announcements are 1 day apart, so we'll be discussing KD's for a day, and then Carowinds will steal the thunder right away

The nearest amusement park to Monterrey is Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk which is a great way to spend a few hours and ride a truly classic woodie. It's not too intense, but it's old and really holds its own. If you're willing to drive SFMM is probably a good choice, but if you choose to go north you can hit up California's Great America and possibly SFDK if you're up for it.

Screaming is definitely part of the experience, rides just don't feel the same when you can't hear anything (especially when a ride's on board audio go out).

Nessie isnt a maintenance nightmare like BBW is, if BBW didnt constantly need repair, it'd be up for much longer, it's not really a thrill issue.
