  1. The Wilderness Downtown = Awesome!!! I can't wait till I get to see them play here in LA on October 7th. I really wish I could go to AF's concert in Big Sur though, the Henry Miller Library looks like such a great venue.
  2. Is it wrong to wish it was the other eurofighter model instead? (I'll stand corrected if the artwork proves to be deceiving) If you're talking about Huracan style with the six seater trains and everything, there's still a chance. Being a huge nerd with only like a 42.537% chance of getting laid, I can tell you that the artwork was made in No Limits. The thing is, NL hasn't been updated in a couple years, so it doesn't have the Huracan trains, just the standard old Eurofighter ones. Although for capacity reasons, wouldn't it be better to have the old style?
  3. ^That's Dinosaur Park in some other part of China. I can't quite remember where.
  4. ^Most likely pretty empty if you go on a weekday. I'm hopefully going Tuesday cause of the low crowds.
  5. Project 18 is without a doubt a codename for their 18th coaster. Kinda like SW6 at Alton Towers. Idk about how legit the codename Project 18 is, but there are those rumors that SFMM might get something pretty rad in 2012.
  6. ^^To bring his business back until they build another coaster. Honestly though, it doesn't matter. Let him believe what he wants. He's neither wrong or right about this because everyone is entitled to his or her own opinion. While what he's saying may sound odd to you guys, in his mind, he's right, and that's really all that matters. It's just about as pointless as arguing what the best coaster in the world is, everyone's gonna have their own opinion! To get this thread on track though, my midwest trip got delayed until next year, does anyone have an idea about what the crowds are like somewhere around late June?
  7. I mean I completely understand where everyone is coming from, but you can't really blame someone for wanting a new thrill ride. Honestly, I'm not a fan of a B&M, so if my options were Chang, or wait a few years more and get something that helps out the park better/is more thrilling, then hell yeah I'd wait. But I mean if I lived 10 minutes away from the park and hadn't gotten anything really that spectacular in 7 years, then I definitely might want something big to get me to go back. That's not saying that the park isn't well rounded, it really does look like the most well rounded park out of ALL of the SF parks (and this is coming from an SFMM fanboy), he's just saying that it needs something big to capture HIS, yes, his attention back. However, yeah, I do agree that he's probably biased on liking all of those other parks more. Of course someone's going to like all of the new stuff in comparison to the same old park. I mean I enjoy SFDK much more than DCA, and DCA probably has a better ride collection. But since I rarely get to go there, of course I'd enjoy my visits more.
  8. Honestly, I'm on his side of this. SFGAm really hasn't added a "big" ride since 03 with Superman. And to an enthusiast, that ain't much. He's not saying that it's a bad park, he's just saying that they haven't added a new big coaster to renew his interest, and that's a very respectable claim. He would simply rather have a new, big coaster over a water park expansion, that's not necessarily some outlandish thought.
  9. American park: Ride has a wheel assembly f**k up, they close it down for months and add safety systems (like trims) to kill the ride so that it's safer. European park: Ride has a wheel assembly f**k up, they rehab it and decide to make it more intense than it was before. I'm so moving to Germany once I'm out of college.
  10. Gah! How has no one commented on this? Awesome TR! I always love yours. That Grizzly story was awesome too! P.S, nice comma use. You'd make my English teacher very proud.
  11. ^FANBOY!!!! / One of those things isn't there anymore / CP's is still better. I love this TR, the captions are funny, and it's giving me a MAJOR CP boner.
  12. Awesome tr! I love your creeping abilities. You were able to capture lots of interesting people hahaha. Did you ride the tower at Waldameer?
  13. To be fair, Ghostrider has been running MILES better this year than it has in the past. My ride in July of last year was beyond unbearable (the only coaster ever to make my back hurt), but recently, it's had the perfect balance of roughness and awesomeness. As for TG, I think the layout is going to be a real winner. Although even though I'm pretty sure they have it all calculated out, that structure looks really flimsy at some points (the drop looks especially janky). It'll be weird seeing how a weak looking structure like that will hold up a ride that's most likely significantly heavier than the ride it was designed for.
  14. Okay so those sunset photos REALLY make me miss Colorado, even though I was just there a couple weeks ago. And as for the drop tower, it's an ARM-Larson drop tower. And yes, those things are beasts. I absolutely love the one that we have down here in So Cal.
  15. Don't worry, Bonnie is one of those fancy, newfangled men with boobs and vaginas. Two vaginas?! Yeah, I realized that my grammar was totally messed up there! Damnit, but hey, it actually CAN happen. I may be mistaken/a total nerd, but isn't Bonnie's last name on the side of one of the buildings at SFMM? I believe she (or whoever that is) had a HUGE part in the park for a very long time. So if it is her, that's hopefully a great choice as a replacement for a president that really did many great things for the park.
  16. Repainting of Xcelerator has been in progress for a few weeks already. You can find pics from the last few weeks at Westcoaster and Screamscape. I knew that, actually. But if Xcelerator has to be closed down cause of construction for this, I have the feeling that they're going to pick up the pace on the painting. Cause right now, it's basically just a little bit of a support painted each night or something. At this rate, it'd take forever!
  17. ^Yes, I do. Theory here: when this is under construction, is there going to be a lot of the Boardwalk area closed? If so, methinks that Xcelerator is gonna finally get repainted in this time. We can only hope so...
  18. Dude, no. TMI I think this is an awesome choice for Knott's. Replacing the old and busted ride, for one that's newer, and kinda does the same thing but better, is a good choice. I'm definitely looking forward to riding this.
  19. Don't worry, Bonnie is one of those fancy, newfangled men with boobs and vaginas.
  20. Video link: http://abclocal.go.com/kabc/video?id=7623332&pid=7623329 The video is pretty trippy actually, it kinda looks like a smaller version of World of Color, just not as awesome. And I believe they did it at Six Flags Mexico, so it's tied to amusement parks too! Number of Mentos geysers: 2,433!
  21. What does the diaper clue suggest, you ask? Depends.
  22. Drop Tower Idea 1: It's actually been done already. Acrophobia at SFOG spins while going up, and then tilts you at the top (albeit, not perpendicular for force reasons). Tower Idea 2: Isn't the drop tower at Phantasialand (Mystery Castle or something like that?) an enclosed, dark, drop tower? Not sure on that one though. Of course, there's always Tower of Terror! Coaster Idea: It wouldn't work because the riders wouldn't have a set center of gravity, so heartlining wouldn't work, and the ride wouldn't be very comfortable. Plus, I think the capacity would be just about the same. Because keep in mind that space not used for legroom is replaced with space for the rider's width. So yeah, it wouldn't really work.
