Wooden fences for me...
-
I say to each their own! But I say yes, I counted Space Mountain as two different credits, before and after the re-track. If you want to count it, count it! If not, don't! I don't really see the big deal either way! Looking forward to riding it again, everyone has been saying it's butter smooth! I'm also going to count it as a new credit because that was the precedent I set for myself when Space Mountain had its makeover. Since the entire track was replaced as opposed to just sections, I would call it a new coaster. Whereas something like Matterhorn getting only a few sections of track replaced here and there every few years is not what I'd call a new credit (though I'm betting that the entire original track has been slowly replaced over the past roughly 55 years). But I agree- let those who want to count it, count it! And those who don't- let it go (let it go, can't hold it back anymore...)!

I went on it today in both the first and last rows. I found that the last row (as in the current row 7- last row in the station) was not that intense, but the first row actually did feel intense, at least in the inversions that weren't loops (though not any moreso than the regular forward-facing Batman). I haven't been to SFGam, so I can't compare it to their run of namtaB. Edit: Accidentally said SFOG instead of SFGam

Should they call it Jurassic Point? -
This sounds so strange. It's a bit weird to me that the employee would run up to you to tell you to not take a picture! But then again, Disney doesn't allow backstage photos because it ruins the "magic" of the parks. I'd imagine in this situation though that it would be somewhat difficult to enforce no picture-taking when it's an area that's so visible to guests! But maybe there was some debris in the cobra roll they needed to remove?

I have no idea but, What they told us on the tour was that the plane was a actual Boeing 747, and that they demolished it just for this set. But you could be right. You're both right- it is the set from "War of the Worlds," and the plane was destroyed for the film. In fact, because it was so big, they had to break it down into sections just to get it placed on set (since it had to be brought to the backlot via flatbed trucks)!

That's unfortunate. Doesn't harm the business one bit to accommodate the few guests who did have issues. I agree with the park if it's a season pass holder who comes all the time and is obviously just trying to game the system, but I would hope they would make exceptions for those who really were just wanting to visit for the day. Being nice to guests has the strange effect of INCREASING business. "Here, have a 1-time use front of line pass for when you do come back" costs the park absolutely nothing and will go a long way in making the guest spend more money in the park vs "weather is not our fault. too bad!" But of course…that's why SFMM is SFMM. Knott's does the same thing I believe, which is why KBF still has a long way to go to recover from the old management of Cedar Fair as well. I get what you're trying to say exactly! Especially when you have parks like USH pulling out all the stops to do guest recovery when it's raining (like offering comp tickets to come back at a later date and free hot chocolate and coffee to guests who choose to stay in the park). Of course, it helps that the majority of their attractions are indoors already! Personally I've never understood the Knott's policy of no rainchecks. It makes no sense to me. EDIT: Since this is the SFMM thread, I should stay on topic. I just realized that my previous comments only mentioned USH and KBF. Sorry! It doesn't surprise me that SFMM doesn't do anything special in these situations! Though I do appreciate the fact that they posted updates about the closure to facebook/twitter the day before it happened instead of the day of! The Tatsu POV they posted on their page looked great too!

This coaster actually looks fun and not too rough! In fact, from what I saw in the background, the whole park looks pretty nice. Must have been a great contrast from the other parks around China! The only thing that bothers me slightly is the amount of foliage sticking up through the track before the lift. But it's not like that can't be fixed really easily! -
I believe the event runs through the 28th, so don't give up! I had one last thing left on the wheel (the heart balloons) that were there for a few days, but I finally got it yesterday. Maybe it's just me, but this wheel seems like it was easier than the Christmas one! Though it does help that I had 3 of the items to begin with...

I don't see why not, unless the remaining Flash Pass units are "sold out" for the day when you get there. But then again, I've never used Flash Pass, so I'm probably not the person to ask! Maybe you can call the park to find out? And/or possibly see if you can cancel your current order and then repurchase it with the correct number of people.

https://www.facebook.com/ACEMidwest I'm slightly confused - the park has a huge amount of people turn out for jobs but turns to local community to volunteer? Perhaps this is more of a goodwill play on ACE's part but still a little strange. Or maybe it's a new exercise program for ACErs... I'm sorry, but I had to say it. This is pretty interesting though.
