  1. I'm in! I wanted to do this last year, but missed the cutoff date. Glad I'll be able to do it this year though! For my match, here are some ideas: My favorite park chains are Disney and Universal. I collect pins from any and all theme parks, park maps, t-shirts (I wear a size men's medium), knick-knacks (such as collectible snowglobes and magnets), posters, etc. I prefer things from specific attractions, but I'm not picky! I'm also a HUGE Halloween fan, so I would love anything from HHN (USH or USO) or Knott's Halloween Haunt! My favorite Disney attractions (in no particular order): The Haunted Mansion Space Mountain Star Tours Indiana Jones Adventure Pirates of the Caribbean Radiator Springs Racers The Little Mermaid: Ariel's Undersea Adventure California Screamin' Toy Story Midway Mania The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror Test Track My favorite Universal attractions, both past and present (again, in no particular order): T2:3D Back to the Future: The Ride WaterWorld: A Live Sea War Spectacular Jurassic Park River Adventure E.T. Adventure Transformers The Ride 3D Revenge of the Mummy Backdraft JAWS Outside of theme parks, I'm also a major film/TV fan! My favorite items to collect with respect to film/TV are prop replicas (or actual set-used props!), and maquettes/statues/figurines. I do have most of these things on DVD or Blu-Ray already, but I'm noting what I'm missing. I would prefer Blu-Ray over DVD, but I do realize that the price for Blu-ray may exceed the price limit. I'm also open to something new. I'll admit that I'm way behind in TV-watching. I haven't seen any episodes of The Walking Dead, Breaking Bad, Dexter, or True Blood, but I'd be interested in starting! My favorite TV shows (some of these have been cancelled, but I still love them anyway!): The Big Bang Theory (own all seasons to date) Chuck (own all seasons) Once Upon a Time (missing season 2) Heroes (own all seasons) Phineas and Ferb (own all DVDs to date) Regular Show (Don't own seasons 1 & 2!) Family Guy (I have Vols. 6, 7, 8, and 10) The Simpsons (Only own first 2 seasons) My favorite films (I own all of these!): Jurassic Park Back to the Future JAWS E.T. Fast and the Furious Ted Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World Universal Classic Monsters (Dracula, Frankenstein, etc- Gill Man from Creature from the Black Lagoon is my favorite!) Harry Potter series The Dark Knight trilogy Avengers franchise Star Wars franchise Indiana Jones franchise Yet some more ideas: I'm a fan of the Arizona Diamondbacks, Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim (I liked their old name better...), Houston Astros, Phoenix Suns, and ASU Sun Devils. In general, I also like "weird" things- anything funny or just plain odd! Here are also links to some of my want lists: PinPics (a site for Disney pin collectors)- searching TCox91 in the "Wants" box should bring my profile up: Amazon Park Map want list (Google doc) Hopefully this will give my match a bunch of options! I'll be looking forward to buying for my match. Thanks, Brandy, for putting this together! This will be my first time participating in the TPR ChrisHanKwanSivus Gift Exchange, and I'm excited for it! -Tyler
  2. How many DVDs or Blu-Rays do you purchase each year? Probably between 30-50, mostly on Blu-Ray. I prefer Blu-Ray over DVD due to the picture quality and the availability of bonus features. How many digital downloads do you purchase each year? Between 5-10, and all of them are purchased in conjunction with a combo pack (ex: Blu-Ray + DVD + Digital Copy). How do you purchase digital downloads? (iTunes, Stream, etc) I activate all of my digital downloads through iTunes or UltraViolet, though I much prefer iTunes. Do you download directly from iTunes to your device, or iTunes to your computer, and then transfer to your device? I download from iTunes to my computer, and then transfer it to my device. Is a 1.5gb - 2 gb file "too big" for you to download to your device? Absolutely not! Most of the films I have digital copies of run that size anyway, so for me it's expected that the file will be at least that size.
  3. I'm going to have to say Walt Disney World, and that's because I will always prefer a "theme" park versus a "coaster" park. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love coaster parks too. Fortunately (or unfortunately, depending on how you look at it!), I live only a few hours away from SFMM, and it's nice to have a bunch of coasters available within one park. But the thing with coasters is that they're all over the country. Yes, each coaster is, for the most part, different. However, only a few places throughout the country offer up well-themed, unique experiences that you can't find anywhere else. So that's why Disney wins with me. That's also why Universal is my second favorite park chain- they also tend to focus on high-quality, detailed theming in a lot of their attractions.
  4. In terms of strictly parks, it's Central Florida for sure. But my personal preference is SoCal. Although keep in mind that I'm completely biased- I have lived and worked in SoCal over the past (almost) 3 years now, not to mention the countless vacations I've had there, and I have only visited Central Florida once. But I'm dying to return to Florida- I want to experience everything at WDW that I haven't had a chance to see, and Universal Orlando is also a must-see destination! Not to mention SeaWorld Orlando and Busch Gardens Tampa!
  5. I want to see how that Cards Against Humanity game played out. I love seeing what people come up with! Also, a question- what are you favorite dishes at Carrabba's? I'm looking for suggestions for my next meal there!
  6. Okay, so it only took me 3 weeks, but I finally got my list up. I actually don't have a whole lot of older stuff like I thought I did (and it's been traded already), but I do have a quite a few different maps available from the SoCal parks from over the past couple of years. I just got maps from this year's Haunt (Knott's Scary Farm) and USH HHN (featuring the now-cancelled Bill & Ted's Excellent Halloween Adventure). Take a look at what I have here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AuBVggYaFgNkdF9aUTg0bUczcFYtNFpQSTBEd0pmTnc#gid=0 PM or email me if you're interested in anything, and I'll try to respond ASAP. My want list is also on that document, and I'd really appreciate it if you were able to trade me something from my want list! I may even throw in an extra map or two for you if you can do it!
  7. I was going to say a Friday the 13th film, but Walking Dead works just as well!
  8. From what I was told in the elvira store, you would have to buy 40.00 in merch. Correct. But no photos with her are allowed... I got lucky the night I went (Friday the 11th). It was a small crowd that night (in terms of the autograph line), so we were informed at the start of the session that Elvira would be allowing us to get a photo with her. I would upload mine here, but I don't have my memory card handy. So it was a nice surprise to have gotten that opportunity despite the numerous warnings beforehand that it was autographs only! But yes, you have to buy at least $40 in merch from the Ride Warriors store (renamed "Elvira's Boo-tique" during Haunt), and tickets for the signing are only available while supplies last! It's not difficult to get to $40 in there though- I bought both of the Elvira pins, an Elvira Haunt shot glass, and a photo of her (to get signed), and it worked out to over $40 even after applying my season pass discount! They also have shirts available, though the "Nowhere to hide" shirt wasn't in there- it was only Elvira designs (which makes perfect sense).
  9. You sound legit. As someone with absolutely no credentials or authority within this community, I'll second your motion to become an internal liaison! Glad you got your lobster roll though- they're well worth the wait!
  10. I am going to guess that if they are broken, SFMM probably won't waste the money in trying to repair them. If by special effects, you mean the fog and fire, then the fire still works, although they turn it off when it's too windy. I haven't seen the fog working in quite some time, although it's definitely possible that it's just been too breezy when I've been there for it to be visible. My most recent ride on X2 was in July and the fire was working, so I would assume that this will be the case when it reopens. As others have stated, the on-board audio is spotty at best.
  11. ^Too true! Remember when the same thing happened a couple months back when Transformers at USH "trapped riders for hours"? That made national news, and then it ended up on local stations as well!
  12. No, it's not just you...I've noticed it too! I love how they do the "point" when you tap on them!
  13. Sadly, it probably had better capacity than a lot of SFMM's rides too! Well they were running more than one car! Exactly! Plus there was no stacking!
  14. Sadly, if this were the SFMM thread, it would be a ringing endorsement! Well hey, at least it's "better than nothing," right?
  15. Oh wow...I got that message but I didn't make that connection until just now!
  16. If that was the case, they wouldn't have sold the ride in the first place... Nor does the ride serve a purpose, as they already have a similar style ride in Rip Tide. Well, that's true. I did hear that the park that bought it did work out a lot of the maintenance issues, though (obviously I don't know for sure). Though I did prefer Hammerhead over RipTide only because the rotation style was different. Whereas RipTide focuses on front flips and back flips, Hammerhead did some unusual movements in addition to the front/back flips where you sort-of rotated on your side...a slow transition from being upright to upside-down! Not that the GP would be able to tell if they were both in the park haha! Honestly another thing I loved about Hammerhead was the theming. I still think it was one of the best themed flats out there! But then again, I'm sucker for anything with an "under the sea" or ocean theme!
  17. Glad to see this topic revived! Here is my current want list: 2005 Knott's Haunt map Universal HHN map from any year prior to 2011 Universal Studios Hollywood map with Creature From the Black Lagoon Universal Studios Hollywood map from any year prior to 2011 Disneyland Park map from 2007 with Finding Nemo on cover SFMM Fright Fest map from 2012 SFMM Fright Fest map from any year prior to 2009 As for my tradables, I'll try to put together a list this weekend, but off hand I know I have extra Disneyland Resort maps and times guides from almost every year since 2000, including a few special events like: Pirates 4 premiere (map + guide) One More Disney Day (note that only the guide was printed special for this event, but I will include a park map as well) Monsterous Summer (again, only the guide was special for this event, so don't expect the map to look different from the regular one!). I also have Knott's maps from almost every year since 2002, including a few extra maps from 2011 (featuring the soon-to-be-removed Windseeker on the front), extra Universal Studios Hollywood maps from 2011-2013 (including HHN maps!), Six Flags maps (SFMM, SFOT, and possible SFFT), and SeaWorld San Diego maps from 2008, 2012, and 2013. This is stretching a bit from maps, but I also have extras of every single issue of The Buena Vista Bugle (the newspaper-style newsletter from Disney California Adventure)! If you are looking for anything in particular from me, just ask! If you can't tell already, almost all of my extras are from SoCal parks. Sadly I can't really help much with destinations outside of SoCal (unless you're a fan of one of the few "tourist destinations" in Arizona...). But I will try to have my list of traders (hopefully with pictures!) up sometime over the weekend!
  18. Yep, it was Gran Slammer! That was one of my favorite flats! The area where La Revolucion is now was once occupied by Gran Slammer and Tampico Tumbler. On a side note, I mentioned this a few pages back, but I'd LOVE to see Hammerhead return as well! If I recall, TPR recently saw it in person, and it's just sitting there, not operating! I know it was a maintenance nightmare, but I feel like if anyone could get it up and running well, it would be the staff at Knott's!
  19. I'm still active (1337me_69)! Also, I added you Guy! Loving this update...it's making me even more excited for HHN (planning on going next week!).
  20. I have to say that I definitely have the same complaint. After morning ERT ended I was in the back of the park in the Riddler's/Apocalypse area, and found that nothing was open! Had to go all the way back to YOLOcoaster Plaza to get souvenir bottle refills. I get that SFMM is a fairly large park and that the back area of the park isn't going to be busy at opening, but would it have killed them to open ONE drink stand?!?! At the very least they could have opened Studio 6F next to Gold Rusher- it has a Coke Freestyle machine inside!
