  1. Also announced during Q&A- Trapped is not coming back. Kind of hate to see it go since I never got to do it (in any of the 3 versions/years it was offered), but as they said, it allows them to focus their time and resources elsewhere. And ooh...a haunted ride? Can't wait to find out which one! My guess is Calico Mine Ride (even though they've done The Witch's Keep the past 3 years already), or maybe Iron Reef. I'd love to see a maze come back to Timber Mountain Log Ride as well, though I remember them saying at WCB that it probably won't happen again for many years, if ever again (or at least that's how I interpreted it).
  2. There's lots: 1. Deja Vu's spot+Slingshot Spot+re-developing that whole back area (I know that would technically count as removing a ride, but it's a freaking carnival ride that was most likely brought in to make some extra money until that spot could be re-used anyways...doesn't really count) 2. The Batman stunt show theater isn't being used for a show 3. Flashback/old metro maintenance space still hasn't been utilized 4. Picnic area (if they went with that option, I imagine they would utilize the Flashback space as a new picnic area that can be dual use for Hurricane Harbor and SFMM) 5. Many backstage buildings are trailers...shifting around things backstage would open up space behind Scream Obviously this is just me speculating/hoping, but I think the area where the backstage trailers between DC Universe and Scream are at right now would make a great spot for a copy of the Justice League dark ride if SFMM eventually ends up getting one! The entrance to the attraction could be inside DC Universe where the store is now (the one near Batman's exit).
  3. I went last night! Got to the park and got my wristband after ScareLA. Don't get me wrong, it was nice of the park to offer ERT, but it didn't feel much like ERT to me. I went to Goliath shortly after 9, and the line was still about 20 minutes (and from what I saw, everyone in that line had ERT wristbands). Went to Scream afterward, where it was a walk-on (not really different from daytime operations, but I appreciated not having to wait!). Saved TC for the last 40 minutes and managed to get 2 rides in- waited 35 minutes for the first ride, and then got in line right before ERT ended at 11 and waited about 15 minutes for the 2nd ride. So again, it was nice that there was any ERT to begin with, but it definitely wasn't as good as WCB ERT is (and will be, especially this year!). I am thankful though that I was able to ride TC twice in an hour...that might be pretty rare now that the single rider line is gone! Or at least it wasn't open last night or for the couple of hours I went on Saturday night (also after ScareLA). The single rider line sign has also been removed from above the gate where the lines formed for it along with Flash Pass and ADA, but the stanchion is still there with the sign saying "Single Rider line forms here".
  4. I agree with both of these statements. I also rarely watch Walking Dead but I've been able to follow what was going on in the mazes (and on Terror Tram). I did see Dracula Untold last year after going to HHN, and thought it was just "okay." It's definitely more action than horror- reminded me of the Brendan Fraser "Mummy" films. I'd watch it again though. But I did see a video of the maze after seeing the film to compare the scenes from the maze to the film, and while I could somewhat make out what was going on story-wise, a lot of it still left me scratching my head. On the other hand, Insidious scared the crap out of me in 2013, and I'm so happy that it's coming back this year! What makes that maze so great in my opinion is the atmosphere that the material lends itself to (of course, the storyline helps too)...so I feel that Crimson Peak could definitely pull that off by just having a really creepy and immersive environment, even if no one quite understands the storyline early on in the event.
  5. For what it's worth, Disney and Universal will sometimes temporarily close their Single Rider lines if it gets too backed up- I've personally been turned away from these lines at Indiana Jones and Goofy's Sky School at DLR, and from Jurassic Park and Transformers at USH. But no security guards...just the regular Cast Members/Team Members with something along the lines of, "Sorry, our Single Rider line is temporarily closed. Please try again later." I have also previously worked Splash Mountain at Disneyland, and while it's incredibly rare for Single Rider to close at that particular attraction, we did have to close it a couple of times during my time there due to operational needs (besides just the obvious one- downtimes).
  6. Thank you for that! I completely agree- it's a hidden gem in the park's lineup. I also love it because it's one of the only (if not THE only) coasters that constantly runs two trains without stacking! Some people say I'm crazy for loving this ride, but I will defend it any day- it's one of my favorites at SFMM!
  7. That would make sense! Hopefully it happens! I'm sure it's at least been mentioned behind the scenes!
  8. Yeah, even with the extension I just now got Kirk...I REALLY want Uhura but I don't think it's in the cards for me... But believe me, I am appreciative of the extra week they gave us! As for future events, I think a Back to the Future event would be awesome! They could even do an alternate "town" for the time travel aspect, similar to what was done with the Enterprise for this event! Given that TinyCo was able to negotiate agreements for Ghostbusters (Sony) and Star Trek (Paramount), I don't think it would be out of the question for them to be able to strike a licensing deal with Universal! Also- I'm assuming that they had to secure licensing to do everything they did for the Halloween event (Alien/AVP/Predator, Nightmare on Elm Street, Friday the 13th, etc), right? Especially since they used the actual character names and likenesses as opposed to a parody/homage?
  9. I defeated him for the first time last night, though I had to use some clams to do it- there was 20 minutes left to defeat him, and my characters still had 30+ minutes left on their actions. Thankfully the health meter was low enough that I only had to speed up Picard and that was enough to finish the job. Working on my 2nd battle with Bertram's final incarnation, and I should be able to do it tonight without using clams as long as I long in right on time (right as they're finishing the task and immediately resetting). But in general it looks like there's very little room for error. Basically if you miss one 4-hour window you're screwed. Granted, it would be slightly easier if I had bought Q (one of the premium characters), but I couldn't justify spending the clams.
  10. That's actually the line just to go through the metal detectors! Half of these people will get redirected to the lockers, where they'll wait in an equally long line before going back through the metal detector line again.
  11. I was so happy to see this! Now I might actually have a chance at getting Kirk!
  12. I agree...I'm upgrading my research center to unlock the extra jobs and payouts, but I have yet to craft anything, and now I'm nowhere near getting the Farmers Market! Yep, this is how I understand it, and it should work! Just seems to be moving at a glacial pace right now though in terms of getting enough fertilizer, corn, and now DNA to craft things.
  13. I haven't seen anything...I check Family Guy Addicts almost daily, and no word from them. I hope so, but I'm doubting it. That would be nice if something comes along to help us for the final day or so! I also agree about the clams- I think they did that intentionally to get people to buy them (which makes sense, since that is how they make money!). I personally won't be shelling out money on this one though. I have really enjoyed this update, and I have spent money on the game before to show support for the updates I've liked, but other than Kirk there's nothing I don't already have that I can't live without! I might get Kirk with clams should he be offered at a later time, like they did with some of the Comic-Con celebs (that's how I got George Takei since I didn't unlock him during the event). I did use some of my existing clams to get Spock though- it was nice hearing that they donated to the Leonard Nimoy Foundation with each Spock purchased.
  14. If they do, they'll break the record Knott's set when Windseeker only operated for a year (I'm not counting the additional year it spent SBNO before it moved to WOF)! I know, Manticore is a Star Flyer, not a Mondial so it's not quite the same thing, but still...
  15. ^Oddly enough, I'm feeling sort of the opposite way- I feel like I've been playing more often during this event than the last one, although admittingly the theme/storyline of the event only slightly interests me. You're definitely right about the prizes though...they've been "meh" to me so far. Of course, my feelings on this event might be a knee-jerk reaction to the event going on in the "other game"- that particular event has far better content/prizes, though the last phase of it has been frustrating me since it looks like I won't finish everything, so coming over to Simpsons and playing an event where it feels like I'm still on track or even slightly ahead of the curve is much more enjoyable! So in summary: Simpsons = "Meh" event/prizes + Great progress (at this time) "The other game" = Great event/prizes + "Meh" progress (at this time- earlier in the event I was doing great!)
  16. The dilithium is what's holding me back too. Should have Picard unlocked by tomorrow- it's looking extremely unlikely that I'll get Kirk (not enough dark matter, and not enough dilithium either). Data is possible if I can harness enough dilithium after I unlock Picard, but it doesn't look like I'll get Joe.
  17. I remember when it was X, they used to have a prerecorded loop playing in the station explaining how to adjust the restraints. It was something along the lines of, "First, pull the butterfly restraint in towards you, then push down on the harness to your shoulder height. Then fasten the seatbelt. Now, get ready to 'X'-perience the 'X'-treme!". I was surprised that they didn't reuse it when it reopened as X2, but then again, no one would even be able to hear it over the "Is everybody in?" bit playing from the train.
  18. That's great to hear (assuming it's true)! I'd imagine the other trains will eventually be repainted as well, but I wouldn't be surprised if it doesn't happen in time for the reopening.
  19. Just a head's up- according to tstoaddicts, the crafting items won't be disappearing when Act 2 starts. They'll just be adding more. Note how it says at the bottom that new prizes will be "added," as opposed to "disappearing". So it looks like we'll have the full length of the event to get everything. So for that reason I'm not too worried about crafting the farmer's market right now (though it would be nice to go ahead and get it out of the way if I can get enough for it!).
  20. 1. Do you have your videos set to auto-play on your: a. desktop computer and/or b. mobile device? (or if you don't know, just tell us if the videos auto-play or not in your newsfeed.) Auto-play is set on my desktop/laptop, but not on my mobile device. 2. Do you regularly "share" content from Facebook "page" (like the TPR page) to your own personal Facebook page? And have you shared something from the TPR page? No, I don't regularly share content from pages. I do from time to time, but over the past several months I generally have not. But I have shared things from the TPR Facebook page before! 3. What kind of content are you most likely to share? (Videos, Photos, News Stories, etc?) I would be most likely to share photos and videos. 4. How long on average do you watch a video posted to Facebook for? Do you watch the entire video? First 30 seconds? Until you get bored? Until I get bored usually. I'll watch short videos on Facebook (2 minutes or less), but I don't usually have the patience to watch longer ones. If I want to watch a longer video, I'll go to YouTube! 5. How important are "video thumbnails" to you? (the image you see with the > Play icon before you click to watch a video) Somewhat important. An appealing thumbnail will grab my attention and will be that much more likely to get me to click on the video! What I absolutely HATE about thumbnails though is when they're doctored to make the video look like something it's not. For example, I've seen thumbnails depicting things that aren't in the actual video! 6. What do you like/dislike about Facebook? What features do you use the most and which ones annoy you? I like the customized lists/feeds. I have put together ones for theme parks, stuff from my university, close friends, etc. I don't get "poking". I've never understood what the point of that feature is...if someone wants to get my attention, they should post to my wall or message me! 7. Is there anything that TPR does or doesn't do on Facebook that you think we should be doing more/less of? I love the TPR Facebook page the way it is. I like the awesome photos that get posted daily, I'll follow the YouTube links to watch TPR videos, and I like the posts that highlight what's hot on the forum (like recent posts with links to Twisted Colossus updates, press releases from different parks, notable TRs, etc). I honestly don't see the need for change right now. I would say to keep posting photos with your posts- in general, photos grab my attention more than text-only posts!
  21. Just found out about this from Screamscape...my "local" park, Castles ~n~ Coasters (located near Phoenix, AZ), is getting a new attraction! It looks promising, at least for a park that really doesn't have much. It's manufactured by Triotech, the same company working on Voyage to the Iron Reef at Knott's. It's scheduled to open in March, but an exact opening hasn't been nailed down yet. It will feature 6 films at opening, but they plan to eventually thin it out to just 2. 22. I would say that you don't even have to wait to unlock Hot Meg...you can start getting the Homemade Valentine's boxes now with your extra valentines. I've already used my extras to get all of the opposite prizes (love vs. hate prizes) that I didn't get in the earlier rounds because I went with the other one. It should be noted that I chose to go for the cupid statue rather than the insane asylum (because I had it from Halloween already), but that shouldn't affect your ability to get it now through the boxes.
