Earthshine (Live) -- Rush
-
I'd love to see it become a year-round option, but if they did end up bringing it back every summer that'd be great too.

Well, this is my first No Limits coaster. It's a Euro-Fighter with elements of various existing models. There's one or two yellow spikes in the second half, but overall not too bad for my first project. For some reason, I can't get any screenshots saved from the simulator. When I press the screenshot hotkey, it says "screenshot saved," but there's nothing in my Screenshots folder. From what I can tell, the shots should be saved in the Program Files folder for NL, under "My Computer." Am I reading this or doing something wrong? If anyone can help, that's be great. Otherwise you'll just have to settle for pictures from the Editor. I'm still trying to figure out how to attach the file (I can't find it...), but once I do, I'll put it up for a download. EDIT: I found the file on my computer and uploaded it. Hopefully it works. Let me know if you have any problems. Other than that, comments and criticisms are welcome. 3D view, completed with supports and scenery. Top view, in progress. Fireball.nltrack

The "Preview" Thread

For anyone who's interested, I'm just finished up tweaking the supports on Fireball. Keep an eye out for a download here (hopefully) later on tonight. -
Those videos really show Cleveland as it really is. Sad but true. And always hilarious.

Magnum’s new sign at Cedar Point!

Took long enough. It looks really nice. I'm glad they're giving the park a nice atmosphere lift. I wonder what else they've done over the off-season, besides revamping the main midway fountain...? -
The "Preview" Thread

So I finally broke down and bought NoLimits last night. I'm still trying to figure everything out with it and tweaking what I've got, but it's coming along nicely. This is really the first time I've used the program, outside of a little messing around with the demo last year. The layout is pretty much done, I just need to work on smoothing out everything and getting rid of a few red spikes. It's a Eurofighter called Fireball, inspired by Fluch in that it starts with a LIM launch and the Eurofigther lift-drop follows the MCBR. Overhead/top view Side view Another 3D view -
Robb & Elissa's Transatlantic Cruise!

There was something similar to that stand-up Falling Star at a carnival back home in Columbus a few years ago. I didn't ride it, but it looked crazy. -
Six Flags Magic Mountain Terminator Salvation: The Ride

I would think that, if nothing else, there will at least be a light effect on the fly-through. With the station being enclosed, it makes it much easier to do a noticeable light show. I would expect the station to have Terminator theming and whatnot in the station, with dark, red lighting to set the mood. Maybe even some fog to add to the apocalyptic feel. Then when the trains come roaring through the fly-through, the lights flash white and red throughout the entire station. That would make for an amazing effect. -

^It's the world's first shuttle flyer! Last minute changes FTW!! -
I know there have been a few cases back home in Columbus, but they haven't affected me. I haven't heard about any here in Dayton or at UD, so sadly no closures yet. Besides, the Snoutbreak wouldn't affect me either way right now, since the only summer classes I'm taking for the next month and a half are online. Unless you can catch it via online web conferences, I won't be out of classes anytime soon.

I had a bottle of both the Pepsi and Mt. Dew throwbacks tonight. They we're actually really good. Neither taste much different than the current versions, but you can definitely taste some differences. I might even say that I like both the throwbacks better, but I'll need a few more tastes of each to be sure.

Looks like a handle of some kind. Or a rubber dildo.

So, with me headed back to Dayton tomorrow for summer semester, the family decided to catch a game in the Arena District. My first impression of the ballpark - WOW. This place is seriously amazing. All you could want for a baseball park, with great views of the field from pretty much every angle inside (and some from outside, too). All-in-all I was blown away, and am really hoping to get back for another game or two later in the season. The "free view." In the outfield walls they have grated windows so passers-by on the street level can catch a bit of the game. Pretty sweet if you ask me. The AEP Power Pavilion. Rooster's on the Roof is on the top level, right next to the very Wrigley-esque rooftop bleachers. From Rooster's on the Roof. From right field, just outside the foul pole. If you have a good eye you can just make out the ball... This would be a sweet shot if it wasn't for the backstop... The Clippers and their now-affiliation with the Cleveland Indians. The view towards home plate from left-center field. The scoreboard. Our entrance to the game.

ROFL that's a classic. Kudos to you.

Weirdest Things The 'GP' Have Said

^I'm not sure if its true of not, but I believe those foot pedals release more than one restraint at a time, and they only wanted to get the people out one at a time. -
All these years I've been wearing hats on the wrong head, and no one told me. FML.

Six Flags Magic Mountain Terminator Salvation: The Ride
DiSab replied to robbalvey's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
I do agree that a wooden coaster doesn't fit at all with a Terminator theme, but the trains sure as hell do. If the scenery around the ride goes along with the theme, and from what's been done so far it looks like it will, it should work. But the trains are fantastic - after looking at various pictures, they actually leap-frog over Troy's trains to become my favorite-looking GCI trains. I really like what SF did and the way they came out. -

My bad. I haven't been on a GCI, so I didn't know for sure. I'm just going off pictures - I thought these black bars were grab-bars, but I see that they aren't. They fooled me. On another note, I wonder how much the metal parts and speakers weigh, and if it's enough to make a significant difference in speed or tracking? -

^^For me, Troy still comes in with the best MFs, but these are definitely a close second. ^^^There will most likely be a cover going over the speakers, probably incorporating the grab-bar as well. And I would put money that the speakers for the front row will go behind the sheet-metal front railing. -

^It seems like they are going down much the same path as the former operators did - little advertisement, awful communication, and just bad operations. Go figure. -

^^If I remember right, there's a video somewhere of test runs with the water level much higher. The boats dropped into the water pretty much right off the drop, and the splash was HUGE. But it really just abruptly stopped the boat, and it looked like whiplash was in store for riders. They really just need to find a happy medium, which I'm sure they're concentrating on. -

I think a floorless Eurofighter would be a crazy-good addition to any park, especially the Adventuredome. Gerstlauer, ball's in your court!
