The "Say Something Random" Thread
Ace Of Spades replied to robbalvey's topic in Random, Random, Random
Doubtful, but a dedicated thread could always be a possibility. Gonna need a few more though, considering there's maybe about eight of us. -
Finally saw Office Space on Saturday, and I think I can sum it up (and rehash an ages old joke) in one word: "Stapler". That is all.

Agreed. Such tunnels work on rides like Millennium Force because rides like that are just themed to being "big". Leviathan, on the other hand, actually has a "theme" to it, so it does look rather out of place. -

What happened? If I remember right a train volleyed in the cobra roll and had to be pushed out by a few guys on a crane. (edited for accuracy, had a feeling I didn't remember it quite right) -
[RCT 3] Pleasant View Park

^I know the feel. I mean, I can't speak for them myself, but when one's featured in a TPR trip report they usually speak very highly of it. By the way, a bit late on this comment, but that Floorless looks absolutely stunning. Only thing I'm not really on board with is the 10-car-long train, which looks...well, frankly, a bit odd. Your choice, of course, but I'd suggest shortening it to 8 or so. -
I'm entirely on board with this, except for one tiny point: Souldn't the preview thread be for, well, previews of actual upcoming projects? As opposed to a number of posts about random projects that aren't going to get their own thread? Perhaps there could be another thread for one-off "throwaway" ideas, concepts to test the waters, or projects that aren't grand enough to make it on their own? Just a thought.

I love the fact that every day there are more and more ponies on this site. Not hoping for a takeover or anything, but it's nice to be reminded that there are other bronies here! -

Wut. "Because it's blue and tall and has similar track." I guarantee you that's their reasoning. -

Actually, Ultra Twisters are well loved and extremely popular in the real world. Pretty much the only model of Togo's that enjoys that status, really. -
Well yeah, but I was referring to all the other wingriders globally. So essentially just Swarm there when I said it. Unfortunately, when saying that, I completely forgot about Raptor at Gardaland, which is absolutely beautiful. So...basically...I'm not saying anything of value here, except that X-Flight is the third nicest looking of the four existing. My bad.

Frickin' sharks with frickin' laser beams

*In before Meteornotes* That's absolutely awesome by the way, whoever decided to pull this off in the real world is an absolute genius. -
I'm starting to wonder if it's even possible for you to be more vehemently sarcastic and down on this ride than you've managed to be so far. Lighten up bro. Personally, I think that looks stunning, especially for an SF ride. Kudos to SFGAm for making their wingrider the nicest looking of the "Non-Dollywood" installations.

^Park is two years old bro, I doubt it's coming back.

Short answer: The haters are just jelly. Long Answer: Find any of Robb's excellent posts about why they work, and how people are bitter simply because they're not willing to pony up the extra cash for them. I can't believe people are still trying to demonize queue skipping measures nearly twelve years after they were introduced. Don't people know how to get over it? By the way, I'm *thrilled* that Universal is moving to Q-Bots. I love the system and look forward to using it on a future trip.

I noticed that as well, I just figured everyone else had already noticed that while reading his "idea".

I'm still trying to decide whether that was truly dumb or just really thick (and poorly executed) sarcasm. Either way, it's still funny.

Completely missed that during my first read through, my bad. -
Come on, I'm sure you can think of at least one restaurant idea yourself! If you're really stuck though, go look up some info on Six Flags parks in the 1970's and see what they actually did. After all, if you're gonna build a 70's Six Flags park. at least be somewhat historically accurate to what the parks did at the time, otherwise your timeline just serves as a frame for your posts and does nothing but hinder.

I don't have the popularity on TPR to pull off that joke effectively, so glad someone else who does posted it instead. -
Or...you could just embed it in the thread so everyone could see it...maybe? Park's not looking half bad by the way, certainly has a better start than some Six Flags parks have on the boards. I'd agree with the poster above me who said the mine train needs more scenery though, it is looking rather barren at this point.

Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread
Ace Of Spades replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I'm surprised that the announcement of this came so suddenly, but not at all surprised that out of all the coasters at CP, this one's getting the boot. During my one four-day visit, it had consistently long lines even when other rides didn't (thanks to its inefficient operations, though I suppose that's just the nature of having a Wildcat in a park that big) and was down more than any other ride. I only bothered to ride it once for the credit, and it was (imo) nothing special. Now, how long until we see a "Save Wildcat!!!!1!!1!!!" charity?
