  1. Ahhhh!! So close!! I will do a more in-depth tally again later tonight, but I just did some quick looks at our TPR teams to see the amounts that have been added today....... And we are now LESS THAN $1,000 AWAY from $40,000 raised!!! I know we can make it!! Unofficial tally came in at $39,372! Can we break through by the end of tonight?? Stay tuned to find out!
  2. ^ Thanks for the return donation, Thad! I'll just go ahead and throw out there that I have over the last few days crept up on the guy who currently sits in 2nd place at KD. If anyone is feeling generous and is looking for a place to send a Team TPR donation, I'd gladly and humbly accept any that came my way. I think it'd be awesome for Jason and I to finish as a nice TPR 1-2 punch at KD!! Here's the link to my fundraising page - http://support.gktw.org/site/TR/CoastingForKids/General?px=1020149&pg=personal&fr_id=1235 The final hours until tomorrow's Noon deadline are upon us.....let's finish with a flourish, Team TPR!!
  3. Thad, just donated $30 to your page to put you back where you belong -- in 1st place!! Go Team TPR!!
  4. ^ Yes, it's the same Fast Lane that you can purchase at the park, so it's good all day. I've gotten them the past 2 years, and basically when you check-in and get all your Coasting for Kids goodies, they will give you the Fast Lane pass (as long as you've raised at least $1,000). Good luck on reaching that milestone!
  5. ^ Kerry, I'll tell you how it sounds.....it sounds awesome!! I LOVE the matching donations where you can double the impact for GKTW! Game on indeed. I decided to kick things off and gave you a $10 donation. Happy coasting in a few days!! ^^ Thanks, Robb! That's a great offer to drum up some more donations!!
  6. THIS. Perfectly said, Elissa! And remember, Valleyfair's is scheduled to be on Saturday, which would almost certainly have bigger projected attendance compared to Sunday. Also, if you look closer at the updated details, after the ERT on Renegade and Wild Thing, it mentions that ALL participants will receive Fast Lane vouchers for the rest of the day! Still sounds like they're doing plenty to me!
  7. Alright team, I updated the first page of the thread again to include the revised schedule for Valleyfair's event. I also ran updated totals, including Chuck's super generous donation to our CP team from mere minutes ago! Thanks, Chuck! Are you all ready to be BLOWN AWAY??? Thanks to continued final surges of donations for our Team TPR participants (including another giant surge courtesy of Jason at KD!), our total amount raised for GKTW continues to grow in leaps and bounds! Let's check the big board, shall we? As of about 10 minutes ago, the total amount raised by Team TPR is........ $37,226!!! Two words sum that up for me right now -- WOW!! and SPECTACULAR!! I'm seriously blown away by how amazing you all are doing with fundraising! If you're a Team TPR member or a TPR donater, the message is the same: THANK YOU SO MUCH!! At this point, nothing would surprise me.....so let's go for broke -- $40,000 raised or bust!!
  8. ^ Thanks, I'll update the first post with that new info shortly. For those looking to make some last minute donations, I'd like to throw out there that our TPR Team at Cedar Point has made a HUGE charge in these final days and is now only $50 from taking over the #1 team spot there!! So, who wants to help them take the lead?? Here's the link to their team page - http://support.gktw.org/site/TR/CoastingForKids/General?team_id=1682&pg=team&fr_id=1233 It's easy.....click, pick a rider, and donate to the cause!
  9. Kings Dominion on Sunday to take part in Coasting for Kids!! Can't wait to support this amazing cause and also meet up again with some really awesome people, while also meeting some new ones!
  10. ^ I just officially updated the team totals on the first page, and it's even better......Team TPR has now raised a remarkable $30,645 for Give Kids The World!!!! Unbelievable work by everyone!! However, we're not done yet! Don't stop now, teammates! The final push is ON!! How high can we push this amazing total to?? Stay tuned!
  11. From the Kara files, here's an awesome quote to keep you all motivated during this final fundraising week! Let's finish this campaign up with a really strong charge to the finish line!! This quote can actually be found inside GKTW itself..... Also, don't forget that the deadline for donations (from a top fundraiser prize standpoint) is FRIDAY, JUNE 6TH @ NOON (ET)!!! Don't be afraid to post this out there or email it to folks who may have asked for a reminder closer to the event. Often times you'll see a spike of activity towards the end once people see a tangible deadline! The donations from Robb's awesome Scandi fundraiser are starting to roll in too! I will try to make sure I can post updated totals each night on where we stand as we launch our way towards $30,000 raised!! We CAN do this.....Go Team TPR!!
  12. WOW!!! Robb, now that I see the details of what you hinted at earlier this week, I am just blown away by the incredible response you got to this! And what a tremendous idea you guys had turning this really cool park opportunity into a fundraiser for the Coasting for Kids cause! Really awesome stuff! Not to mention that extra surprise of Grona Lund opening up for extra bids to make the impact even bigger! I have to echo a HUGE THANK YOU to Robb and Elissa for the brilliant idea, to the awesome people from Grona Lund who supported it, and the great folks signed up for the Scandi Trip who bid and supported the cause!! You guys ALL rock. For the winners, enjoy the tremendous view and one of a kind experience! I still need to do a more updated total, but considering where we were before Robb announced this, we are now definitely over $25,000 raised!! And, quite honestly, I think $30,000 is VERY reachable by the end of this last week of fundraising! GO TEAM TPR!!
  13. Happy Friday, Team TPR!! Pretty crazy that we're all heading into the final week of our fundraising efforts already. And kudos to everyone on the work done thus far! I thought it was a fine time to do a little "Friday flashback" of another story from Kara that she posted last year during the Coasting For Kids campaign. I thought this was an awesome example of just one area where you can see how your fundraising/donations truly make a difference! Read on, friends......
  14. Holy sweet baby Jesus!!! This drool worthy coaster is absolutely FLYING through the course in those videos! God do I need to ride one of these RMC creations......pronto!!
  15. Gotta say that this thing looks pretty freaking sweet! As others have mentioned, the speed this thing travels through the second half with (and over the bunny hills) looks awesome!! We've yet to visit Coney Island/Luna Park, and we're pretty big NYC fans, so a visit may have to be in our future!
  16. Wow, awesome update with great pictures and video!! FCE looks pretty amazing for a "family thrill coaster"! I just love how great this park looks, and each attraction is added with incredible attention to all the small details. The theming on FCE (and Wild Eagle as well, for that matter) looks truly top notch. We really need to make our way to Dollywood at some point in the near future. This place is easily now in my top 5 of parks I need/want to visit as soon as possible. In fact, I've always thought a Dollywood/Silver Dollar City trip would be quite epic!!
  17. Hey Jason! Just letting you know that Tabatha is all set now to join us in the fun at KD!! I just donated $50 to her page to get her to the $75 minimum to participate! Can't wait to meet you both in a little over a week!
  18. I'm quoting this again because I need to second the congrats to ALL members of Team TPR on a phenomenal job fundraising so far!! The fact that we've broken $20,000 in money raised for GKTW is just fantastic! Think of the wonderful difference you all are making. Truly great stuff. Here's to $25,000!! Also, a big congrats to Jason at KD. You never disappoint, and with your $5,000 in added donations today, you yourself DOUBLED the amount of money raised by the TPR team at KD!! Wow! Tremendous work!
  19. ^ Thanks so much for getting in touch with KD, Nicole! That definitely clears up the confusion! A couple random Team TPR nuggets on this hump day...... We've now hit 70 participants for Team TPR!! What an awesome showing for our community here! Carowinds has released their schedule. First post has been updated with all pertinent info. Remember when someone had mentioned how cool it would be if Team TPR was the top fundraising team at each park? Well, I was curious, so I did some investigating......turns out, it might be possible! Right now, Team TPR is 1ST at 7 of the 11 parks! Can we make the sweep? Keep fundraising/donating to help it happen! And last but not least, our updated total currently sits at..........$16,375 raised for GKTW!! Way to go, Team TPR!! Let's keep closing in on $20K!!
  20. Closed out a marvelous visit to Kennywood on Sunday with a spin on Sky Rocket, the coaster that I love more and more each time I catch a ride on it! Those Premier launchers (especially this newer breed) are tons of fun!
  21. Top Thrill Dragster - Cedar Point
  22. Jason, we at TPR cannot thank you enough for your boundless generosity!! That gesture of getting EVERY registered member of Team TPR who was under the minimum up to the minimum to participate is simply remarkable! Incredibly WELL DONE, sir! Your passion for this cause is so admirable and touching. I for one cannot wait to see what your amazing total is this year! Front page of the thread is now updated with new totals, and I decided to run another tally. Thanks to Jason's good deeds here, Team TPR is now up to a posted total of $14,657 raised for GKTW!! WOW!!! Especially with Jason's always nice total still to be posted, I believe that $20,000.....or even $25,000 raised is totally possible!! Keep it up, everybody.....the FINAL PUSH is upon us!
  23. ^ I'm very happy with the details on next season! All new players again (which is great), and bringing back the "Blood vs. Water" angle, which my wife and I both really enjoyed when they did it a couple seasons ago with the returning players. Seemed to add a pretty cool dynamic to it. This season was pretty awesome, and one of my favorites of recent memory!
  24. El Toro - Six Flags GAdv......Ole!
  25. ^^ Stacy, that is indeed a great "drop tower face" that Victor has there! Those Larson/ARM towers are freaking great. Looks like you two had absolutely perfect weather for your visit!
