  1. Maverick at Cedar Point, its very first day operating. 2-1/2 hours.
  2. TTD and MF have almost identical seats. But there is a difference in the seatbelts, as I described in my last post. And i quote...... It probably doesn't make a whole ton of difference, but for someone like me it could be just enough of a difference to make it to where I can't ride. Nothing I can do about that, just keep pressing on with what I've been doing, eating healthier, being more active, etc.
  3. Went to CP yesterday the 30th. Fastlane passes are awesome! Longest wait we had was the first time on MF, and that was maybe 25 minutes. Everything else was 10 minutes or less. If you are going on a busy day, fastlane is totally worth it! Ride counts: MF x 4, Maverick x 2, Magnum x 2, Raptor, Blue Streak, Disaster Transport (Christina got her credit on this), Giant Wheel, Power Tower X 2, Mean Streak. We most certainly could have ridden MORE, but without fastlane I don't think we would have been able to ride as much as we did, when lines for the big 3 (Maverick, MF, TTD) were all over an hour. You might recall me posting earlier this season saying I'm not able to ride MF and TTD due to my size. Well, as indicated above I can indeed ride MF now. A couple factors: I have slimmed down just a tad this summer, having lost 7 pounds so far. If anything, I think the belts are longer now than they were last year (and there are other posts on different forums of people agreeing with this). Perhaps they need stretched out after getting installed? Still can't fit on TTD. I think its a matter of being both tall and fat. I'm 6'1", and if I were a couple inches shorter I'd be willing to bet it would work. One thing I think is funny is that in previous years, more people seemed to be complaining about MF being a tight fit rather than TTD. On MF, the female part of the buckle is routed under the metal bar, and on TTD, its routed over. That could be one thing that pushes someone on the borderline like me over the edge. Oh well, I'm just happy I can ride MF again. And the new belts there give me hope for the future that they might make the belts a little longer on TTD eventually, or if not I'll at least be able to ride again after slimming down more.
  4. Two times on TTD at CP. One time on Raptor at CP. Three total. Two of the three were completely unnecessary, as I was able to re-queue and fit in a different seat (or just get a ride attendant who is willing to help and not be an ass).
  5. The Kentucky State fair board should totally be kicking themselves. But they won't be. Gawd I hate politics.
  6. Going next Saturday with fast lane passes. Looking forward to it.
  7. Ive been the only one on Snake River Falls at CP, on a rainy day.
  8. Yes, you are required to have someone riding with you on thunderbolt. It has to do with the restraint system. If you don't have a partner, you can tell the attendant at the ride's station entrance, and they will try to find another single rider to ride with you.
  9. This. I totally sympathize for this guy, given that I have been turned away from some of the coasters at CP due to my size. But at least my weight is something I can have control over, this guy can't control not having hands. I think this is an unfortunate situation where this guy would probably be able to ride without incident over and over, but Six Flags isn't taking the chance of something going wrong, especially considering some of the incidents that have happened at their parks before.
  10. Just made my first visit to Kennywood last weekend. Pretty much agree with everything that was said about the rides in your latest updates. Phantom has an insane amount of airtime, and sky rocket is so fun. Can't wait to get back to Kwood.
  11. you can eat at TGI Fridays without being a hotel breakers guest.
  12. Neither me or Christina are a big fan of Giant frisbee rides (or any spin ride for that matter), so we didn't walk back to that area. So I honestly don't know if it was or not.
  13. EDIT: Nevermind. Eastbound from Akron to Pennsylvania! Pittsburgh skyline. Partial shot of Heinz field, home of the Steelers. PNC Park, home of the Pittsburgh Pirates. Phantom welcoming us to Kennywood. Sky Rocket, right at the front of the park. George was here. Seahorse waffle fries were good! Seeing this on previous TRs, I always thought this was the Kwood entrance. Getting Jacked! Love this shot of the Racer. A view of the surrounding area from the Kwood picnic shelters. Fear the Roo! (Oh wait, were not in Akron anymore). My favorite shot of the day. Christina by a fountain, with the clock sign in the distance. Phantom's Revenge Ghostwood Estates Thunderbolt hill above the potato patch. Freshly squeezed lemonade is a hit with Christina! En route to our first roll on the Phantom. There are probably lots of photos with this shot already on TPR. Ok, enough posing. Lets RIDE IT! Cool fountain in the lost kennywood section. Me boarding swing shot. Whhhhhhoooooooooooaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa. Black widow off in the distance, not open yet. Thought this ice cream stand looked cool. View of Sky Rocket from the upper parking lot. View of the Phantom from the upper parking lot. theming on ghostwood estates entrance. Part of the double rainbow we saw from Phantom's lift hill. Now faded. Phantom meets rainbow. Thank you Kennywood for a spectacular visit! We stayed the night near Pittsburgh at a motel 6. Room wasn't bad for a budget motel. My hair after riding Sky Rocket four times! Flat screen tv, microwave, and fridge. All we could ask for. IKEA! We don't have an Ikea near us, so we decided to visit the Pittsburgh one while in the area, and get some home decor ideas. A home furnishing superstore, with its own restaurant. Brilliant! After deciding on a new couch for someday soon, I decided to relax on it a minute, wearing my new Phantom's Revenge T-shirt. Ikea was neat, didn't spend long there, but got some good ideas. Christina in her new Kwood shirt, after we got home.
  14. I'm going to kennywood tomorrow and I bought my tickets at a Cleveland area giant eagle for $25 each. They might be even cheaper at a Pitt area giant eagle, not sure. If you go between now and august 21, they are good every day, after that date they are only good certain days. And they are actually tickets, not a voucher.
  15. Awesome TR! Thanks for the pictures. Glad you enjoyed your first time at the point!
  16. I don't agree with the price increase for fast lane either. They should have at least waited until next season if they decided that they wern't charging enough for them, especially if all we're talking about is a measly $5 extra. But you are seriously blowing this way out of proportion. P.S. RobbAlvey won't be happy when he sees all the new posts about fast lane. but the price increases indeed have peeps talking about them again.
  17. Just got my tickets for kennywood yesterday. So looking forward to my first ever visit there next weekend. And yes I will have a TR.
  18. You are 3 inches shorter than me, and 50 pounds lighter. you should be fine. Everyone's body type is different, so its impossible to post exact numbers, but the one measurement that constantly gets stated is a 40 inch waist. If your waist is at 40 inches or above you may have trouble fitting on MF and TTD. thanks for the compliments. And yes Gisco, I will be avoiding the loaded fries from now on.
