Favorite coaster cars/trains or ride vehicles
Jcoaster replied to Stitch's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I love all the old school B&M Hyper trains, Millenium Flyers and the Arrow Trains that were used on Drachen Fire. -
You've raised some smart kids, Mo. Smart kids, I tell ya. And see this is exactly the dilemma parks like SF and KD will continue to face. If you polled a large section of GP parents, you'd probably find that while SF is trying desperately to become more "family friendly," they're still, much like KD, just that park you see from the highway with mountainous rides more suited for the teenage demographic. In truth, both KD and SFOG may indeed have enough rides suitable for the smaller children in a family, but most parents aren't up on this. Most will base their decisions on where to go from past experiences or word of mouth. When you're labeled something, it's very tough to change that image. Both Dollywood and BGW, while they do have their larger thrill ride offerings, continue to have a warmer, more inviting family atmosphere with better balance. And plus, when KD is obviously planning on advertising the hell out of their new giga (or whatever it is), that doesn't necessarily scream, "Hey, come check out our fantastic array of under ''48 family rides" now does it? As for what may eventually replace it, I like the Powder Keg-type idea. But I'm wondering if that newer Vekoma family invert that Erik highlighted in his recent TR to Oklahoma might be a good choice....perhaps on a slightly larger scale. Obviously not the same footprint, but utilizing some of it? Just a thought. The Vekoma Family Invert idea sounds like a reasonable plan too. As long as it has a custom layout of course with a drop over the Rhine River

I think the next coaster the park could add, that could also be a family attraction is a S&S Launch coaster along the lines of Powder Keg at SDC. Powder Keg is a great ride that everyone of all ages can enjoy. It is intense enough for the thrill-seekers and not too intense for the younger crowd. As long as Busch themes it well (You know they will) I think this could be a great replacement for the Wolf. (I rather have the Wolf...but can't win them all.) Just my 2 cents.

As my favorite comedian would say "F*ck the children!". I'm not paying $50+ for mild rides (Ok, maybe I am also, but that's besides the point! ). BBW had some intense moments and that's what I loved about it. If they are tearing it down, it better be for a kick-as* coaster. I want an intense terrain coaster, no messing around. If they are going to replace such a great ride, it better be with something BETTER, not worse. And yes, that is my enthusiast opinion. It's the only opinion I really care about. Couldn't agree with you more. If Busch Gardens added another B&M, or even a woodie, I think I would actually go there more than once a year, rather than hanging out at Six Flags America and Kings Dominion. 4 B&Ms at one park would be absolutely great. All I can say is they better go Big with this "replacement", or as usual I will not be going to Busch Gardens anytime soon. Your selfish, closed minded "enthusiast" opinions are ruining "family parks." Sounds like you guys just need to go hang out at Kings Dominion and Six Flags America then. There are places for you, and it's clearly NOT Busch Parks. Are you not smart enough to realize that if all you want is "Big Coaster, Big Coaster, Big Coaster, Big Coaster, etc..." then you're going to turn Busch Gardens into Kings Dominion. Just look at what that mentality did to Knott's Berry Farm... --Robb I couldn't agree more with Mr.Alvey. Busch is not one of these "let's add a coaster for the sake of it parks". They put thought into other attractions besides rollercoasters which makes it a family destination.

Best American B&M Inverted coaster
Jcoaster replied to pkdcoaster's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Nobody said you needed one to make a great inverted rollercoaster . I think it is extremely close between Alpie and Montu. The rest don't even compare. Busch knows how to make B&M's. -
Today is a sad day in the rollercoaster world. I don't understand how they could do this. I thought BBW and LNM would be at the park for many more years to come. BBW is what added to the experaince of the park, it was a different coaster that utilized terrain. It's sad to see another Arrow Suspended Coaster go. There is a hole in my heart right now lmao .

What is the best floorless?
Jcoaster replied to ddaver177's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I have been on 3 different floorless coasters, and I must say, I was impressed with all three. If I had to put them in order it would be: 1. Dominator 2. Medusa:East (No I have not ridden Bizzaro yet) 3. Hydra -
I agree with you 100%. I just love how everyone made jokes about him and now that he is dead everyone is showing remorse.

I was shocked when I heard the news. He was a creep though. This has been the biggest death in music probably since Kurt Cobain.

Kings Dominion (KD) Discussion Thread
Jcoaster replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I have a feeling there will be more than what meets the eye too. Something just does not feel right by the look of that track. -
TR for HP 6/21 and 6/22, Dorney Park 6/23
Jcoaster replied to B-RadG's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Please tell me what ride this, because it defiantly is not Steel Force. Morgan hypers are usually very tame, and every time I've been on Steel Force I've never got airtime near to as close as you explained it. Im with you dude. Steel Forceless is one of the worst hypers around IMO. -

^ He makes a very good point. As time changes more trees an vines an etc grow over the track. I can't imagine how hard it is to inspect that track.
