  1. Cheap? They usually go for $90 or so. I mean, its better than Busch passes, but still a lot more than SF passes.
  2. It looks like we joined on the same day. Maybe that was the day Robb posted the link to his videos over at TPC... Hey, give me a break for adding a hint of originality here! I've been BFL for a few years.. I need something fresh nowadays. That trip does seem long, probably mostly due to it being boring as it is through sparsely populated areas for the most part.
  3. In light of that I rescind half of my last comment.
  4. I think the record has to do with drop. Either steepest or tallest. It may not break the height record but could still break the drop record with a tunnel or trench of sorts. Intamin would be the ones to push a coaster like that... and at least we shouldn't have to worry about the coaster being as rough as SOB if they did!
  5. Not bad but Wild Adventures is more like halfway between Atlanta and Tampa so I'd say 3-4 hours between Six Flags and Wild Adventures, and about the same to Busch Gardens. If you visit WA you might as well buy thier season pass and visit Cypress between Tampa and Orlando, since the cost is less than two invividual admissions. Dollywood is also more like 4-5 hours from Atlanta, but leave it to Larry to screw the times up
  6. For me, it's all about Goliath. Goliath is a highly anticipated ride that has been in the works for years, and finally the Southeast gets a hypercoaster. It should offer a smooth, airtime-filled ride that may be one of the best B&Ms to date. Plus, it gives me something to do on My Site Holiday World's Voyage looks like it could become one of the most insane wooden coasters in the world: taking some of the great elements from Hades and combining it with a part out and back, part terrain ride that could truly deliver.
  7. Doubt it, I think they will stay within the SF chain. I am glad this came. Its a good move, though I do feel for the folks in Houston, and I hope that those two Anton's dont go to waste
  8. I have seen ACErs do this at events.. makes me wonder why the hell I pay to be associated with them.. and to think they are usually sober
  9. Robb and Elissa are one?! Sounds like one problem.. its an Intamin strata-accelerator
  10. Sony's are overpriced. I say go with HP or Dell, or even a mac, you can get more for the same price. This Gateway looks like a neat idea but the specs stink.
  11. Your ass-kicking shades are cooler I live in the middle of nowhere, there ain't any designers out here.
  12. Best ending: Silver Comet, it actually picks up steam and flies into the brakes. From the turn that drops to the ground to the brake run its awesome! Worst ending: Hydra, it sucks after you exit the cobra roll.
  13. Millennium was a dagger-in-your-face blast! (no seriously it was a great added element if you can tolerate it)
  14. Calc III Physics I Microeconomics CS .. I'm taking a light semester, somehow. 14 hours.. wow..
  15. ... but apart from the decent assortment of rids the park blows for service, cleanliness and other things
  16. I'm going to say Lake Compounce. It looks like you got off on top of the sky ride. The tubes look like their's. The crackers may go with the clam chowdah, hence the Boston reference. TWA flight 800 went down somewhere in that area. .. but I hold a reservation for Knoebels too. There was an idlewild ski shop up in that area.. hmm...
  17. While everyone else is doing coasters and such and the thread asks for attractions I'll be different and restrict coasters 1. Bumper Cars (Hoffman's) 2. Skooters (Knoebels) 3. Flyers (Knoebels) 4. Phantom Flyers(ParCar) 5. Spiderman (IOA) 6. Shockwave (PCW) 7. Dollywood Express 8. Nitro (MFI) 9. Psyclone (PCW) 10. Ripsaw Falls (IOA)
  18. ^ So, where's Johnny to tell me what I won? That's a pretty good point, and they keep coming back year after year.
  19. Yes, I think it could be one of the best also. Seven months from now we will begin to find out. I take back what I said about the Gasp, it looks like the station will be "goliath" itself and take up half of the area of the tower's base.
  20. Looks to me like it could have been saved: OK now for my thoughts. The ride looks even better than I had imagined. This morning, they also hinted at a USA-section revamp, which is cool I hope its as good quality wise as the Golden Kingdom. Oh how I cannot wait until next April 8) [/url]
  21. Thats what I expected and I too think that's what we've recieved. Here are my photos and such from today: http://sfog.parktrips.com/
  22. No love for Knoebels? I'll stick with Knoebels (the 'other' category) for now, but that could change next spring when I hit Holiday World and Mt. Olympus.
  23. Because enthusiasts think its what the cool kids do or something.. There are bad SF parks, but then there are good and even a couple of great ones. People just generalize the whole chain as being bad when in fact its not.
  24. $4+ in some places of north Georgia. Most I saw in person was $3.99 in Douglassville
  25. I believe so. In a field in which name recognition is key, though they may not say "Mr. Six" I hear a lot of chatter about "that old guy" at the park. The song, whether or not you personally like it, is quite catchy and I always see the kids trying to emulate Mr. Six's moves at the park when the music comes on. Sounds like a fairly successful campaign to me, now if that directly correlated with an attendance increase then they would be in business.
