  1. His son (Weiland) is continuing the business and sells part for his father's rides. They aen't that hard to get... I know
  2. It's like the Golden Ratio. You don't question it...
  3. I love the Scream Machine, I've ridden it more than any other ride at the park other than my beloved Mind Bender. However, it's not quite top notch to me. I'd give it an 8/10. It's not the best but still a really good ride. Its somewhere in the 10-15 range if I were to rank my woodies. I think its one of the best works of John Allen, and all of the Allen's I've been on are very fun rides. I think the best part of the ride is the beautiful structure and how it used to reflect in the pond where they put Ninja... stupid Ninja... I too think the Cyclone can be better than GASM on good days, but since there are so many bad days in between the limited good days, I'd take a ride on Scream Machine to be safe.
  4. Oh Im sure people would complain. You can't underestimate the die-hard Six Flags haters
  5. It looks like there are some meteorologists with a nice sense of humor out there. Presenting Typoon Longwang: Look out Taiwan!!
  6. I would be beyond sad if I missed out on both Schwarzkopf's! However, I think the same thing applies to Magnum Force about being in the never-ending removal rumors. - Joe the Schwarzkopf lover 8)
  7. Just last night I heard Robb's package doesn't require extra postage! - Joe, always willing to capitalize on dirty humor
  8. Oh my I didn't even see that! I am now saddened (... and pissed! )
  9. I do want to point out that they don't always avoid the parking lots by 50 feet (look at Superman ) I hope my post wasn't misconstrued to be "Voyage hating" as I am very much looking forward to that ride and will more than likely ride it next year whereas Toro is up in the air. I think all three new woodies are going to be very different and hopefully all of them will be excellent.
  10. Hey everybody! This thread is simple! Rather than having a million little threads about everything that goes on at Flamingo land, this thread is designed to consolidate it all into one user-friendly thread. Feel free to use it to post updates, trip reports, questions, comments, and of course, general discussion. For pictures and videos of the park as well as past updates, see TPR's Park Index Page. Official Park Website Below are some links to past updates from the park, you may be interested in. So does anybody know anything about the new ride? I mean, its a Vekoma so it has to be good, right?
  11. Just so you know, I wouldn't call that last photo testing per se. It's a pull through.
  12. Thanks for the correction, I didn't know a change took place between the times of CCI and GG.
  13. ^ So, half of Voyage would bore you too, right? I think this thing will be better than Voyage in the long run, since i have a sneaking suspicion that these Gravity Group coasters will tear themselves apart running PTCs on those insanely twisted tracks with normal wood so to say.
  14. This ride looks great! I think the groung-hugging turns towards the end are going to be insane! That ride looks oh so smooth and fast - I love seeing the train pulled down real quick on that ultra-steep first dro[. I think I may need to get back (plus I can visit the Great Adventure employees wink wink). I still think Balder is probably better, but that doesn't mean this ride won't rock
  15. I think the electrical things such as the control systems and such should be worried about more in terms of bad damage moreso than the supports - Joe, who's not an engineer anymore so don't quote me
  16. Yea I did. The knife joke was funny, but I caught that quickly. I think what really made me think so was when they showed the video feed from the computer and randomness of the running thing.
  17. I have visited for years browsing photos, but didn't even know about the forums until I saw Robb plugging his site on Theme Park Critic I must say I am glad I came over 8)
  18. ^LOL Thanks, that's actually a lot more simple than I thought now that I see the code.
  19. Ah, there we go! I couldn't think of a word that fits. Thanks
  20. Wow, y'all really did ban Robb? That sucks, I haven't listened often, but the show with him was probably the only one that didn't make me feel like I wasted my time listening
  21. Cool, so I should be able to meet some more TPC'ers I can vouch for you Larry, even if you don't like GASM! (hey, it's the first time in a loooong time I've said anything about it so gimme a break )
  22. What I read today: "It's depressing around here,'' said Florida pitcher A.J. Burnett, who allowed five runs Sunday and indicated he will not re-sign with the team after the season. "There's nothing positive around here. There's nothing positive on the staff now.'' Screw you AJ, your mediocre season is part of the reason we fell short at the end. A 6.40 ERA and losing six starts in the past month? Yea, blame it on everyone else My Marlins are now 1 game from being eliminated
  23. edit: Aaah! A double post. Sorry
  24. I had a couple Molsons last night. I find generic Canadien beer to be much better than generic American beers. Sorry, but I didn't have a camera with me so I'll go with a stock photo from their site. - Joe, who's glad the quality of Molson hasn't changed since merging with Coors
  25. Hey, no problem! (actually I'm sorry )
