The East Coast Rocks!!!
ParkTrips replied to Sir Clinksalot's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
See that just sounds like a preference issue. I'd guess that speed and height can "do it for you" whereas I'd like a bit more than just that. The "added spice" of Storm Runner makes it a kick ass ride, and also my favorite launched coaster. But that's just my preference. -
The park that TPR built!
ParkTrips replied to Mr.Six's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
I think next time y'all should establish a common theme to the park. Ideas could include something like "Six Flags-style park", "Tropical style park", or "traditional amusement park", for example. It would also be cool if someone started one with an RCT3 park for those of us who don't have 2 on our machines anymore... -
Well, since Mercedes over there is comprable to Ford over here...

If you go during the summer, look out to see if Independence Air offers a pay-one-price and fly all summer deal. This past summer, for a flat $250 USD, you were able to fly anywhere they fly east of the Mississippi and only pay mandatory fees. Here are some parks within reasonable distance from their destinations: Busch Gardens Tampa Six Flags Over Georgia Paramount'c Carowinds Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom Six Flags America Paramount's Kings Dominion Kennywood Cedar Point Geauga Lake Six Flags Darien Lake SeaBreeze Martin's Fantasy Island Six Flags Great Adventure Six Flags new England The Great Escape Lake Compounce Canobie Lake Funtown USA Camden Park Dollywood Six Flags Great America The only catch was you had to fly on Tuesday, Wednesday or Saturday, but that could workout well if you fly in Tuesday, get a car, hit the park on Wednesday and fly back home that evening. Or,you could do something like fly out on Wen., hit a park Thursday and then another Friday before flying back Saturday (ie LC-SFNE or SFDL-SB-MFI etc) That's just something to keep an eye out for. That leaves you with "only" lodging, ground transportation, food and admission. If you used it a lot it could really be benneficial. If not, I think Hershey, SF Great Adventure, Lake Compounce, Holiday World, SF Great America, Busch Gardens Williamsburg and Dollywood are parks you should look into.

Photo TR: San Diego Zoo and Sea World
ParkTrips replied to robbalvey's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
I haven't been around long, but I think Robb has this "thing" with fat chicks God knows how many "whale" photos there are on this site from parks -- with or without sea creatures. The SD Zoo Carousel had a ring catch? Hmm... I missed that when I was there. I missed out on Atlantis too, it was still under construction - Joe, who got to feed the penguins thank's to my sweet hook-ups in SD -
The East Coast Rocks!!!

Yes it is. It's a shame a ride can start out so good and end up so mediocre Like the real estate agents say, location, location, location! It made quite a difference IMO. -
I used to use Mambo and would recommend it, but I'm developing my own as well as I am redoing my site. I'm actually trying out a new language in the process 8) ^ I want to know how you do the "Parks close to {username}" thing. That's pretty cool.

RARE TR: Dollywood from my prospective....
ParkTrips replied to jarmor's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Great Video! I like the choice of music, it fits the ride and park perfectly. Very good TR and again, thanks for the suprise at the end. Sorry I cam up with the discounts late, I didn't realize you had already gone - Joe, who simply has gone too long between Dollywood visits (last August). Oh how I can't wait for Nov. -

Italian Job Turbo Coaster 2006...
ParkTrips replied to jarmor's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I found the opposite. I thought the launch was mild and the spiral died out too much by the time you reached the top. I rode at Wonderland, they didn't have most of the elements working so we didn't get shot at and couldn't see anything in the tunnel I was very disappointed. -

Oh man what a great day that must have been with a trio that is hard to beat: baseball, beer, BBQ. Great stuff! Yea, Miller sucks, but I thought that was kind of more like a fact than an opinion -

Your park looks nice I like the triple helix thing, I used something like that on a woodie a while back and it was sweet. How do you do the inversions on the rocket, is that in the water expansion pack? (which I haven't gotten yet) -
I am going this year because it will be just a few miles from me and I've never been. I just want to walk the floor once and see all the new stuff. I just want to do it at least once. I'm too shy to go talk to these people and bug them anyways

MegaZeph and Hercules would be the only two. -
They are illegal in Virginia. I had an uncle that was a PA State Trooper and had a few cases where he went to go pull people from Virginia over and they threw their radar detectors out the window (thinking it was illegal)... the best part is that he gave them a ticket for littering too I got toasted for speeding between Darien Lake and Buffalo this summer (86 in a 65) but got out of it with a parking ticket thanks to family connections 8) Scott, that's funny, were you up there skiing or something? - Joe, who's still trying to figure out why the hell you would be in Vermont
-
Wow, that's one of those legends. I wouldn't even consider it to be forgotten  How about X? Four years ago it was the talk of the industry... and now all I hear are some complaints when people write TRs and reviews and such and that's about it. The hype for it died down big time.

I say Coke and then the waitress usually says "what kind?" which is where you then differentiate what sort of coke you want. Pop? What the hell is that? Since when did music have to do with what you drink?

Got an email from Tech.. we're open. Does this school close for anything?

I am a Marlins fan living in Atlanta. I am glad I didn't go to the game tonight... the 4th one in the past week that has ended with the fish breaking down late in the game. Damn.. there goes our playoff hopes. We really needed to capitalize on that Astros loss and we failed
